Chapter 1099: More Opportunities To Make Up For Inexperience.
After the emotion pathway avatar was killed, a ball made of thick ink of various colors appeared from the shattered avatar. The ink didn’t mix and instead interacted like oil and water, forming boundaries with each other while they were packed into the ball.
Loki grabbed the ball of ink and stored it in his avatar’s body. Then he went to grab divine crystals and celestial gold that had been dropped earlier.
While he was doing this, he said, "You guys took the opportunity to attack me, so the deal has fallen through. But I’ll keep these things to prevent them from going to waste."
As he was talking, he rose to the sky where a pair of colorful eyes had appeared. The avatar pushed everything it had acquired into the rift. The Emotion Supreme Metac was also sent into the rift.
After doing this, the avatar went into the second heaven. The Dao Lords in the sky were watching with a confused gaze as he flew down to the River of Death.
For a while, the avatar disappeared into the River of Death. No one, except Loki, knew what the avatar had gone to do down there. They could only wait in silence.
Less than a minute later, the avatar returned. It looked exactly the same as it was before it went into the River of Time, and there was nothing to indicate what it had gone to do in the River of Time.
The avatar looked empty-handed and didn’t return to the rift in the sky, so the Dao Lords had no reason to believe that it had acquired something in the River of Time.
However, if they knew that Loki wasn’t like them and didn’t need his avatar to hand over Supreme Metacs directly to his true body and could let the Supreme Metacs pass through the connection between the avatar and the true body, they wouldn’t believe that the avatar had gained nothing.
Their avatars could only use one Supreme Metac at rank 9, so their avatars couldn’t accommodate another Supreme Metac and had to hand any Supreme Metac to their true body. But Loki didn’t have that problem back when he was a rank 9 Dao Initiate, and his avatar didn’t have that problem now either.
The avatar returned to the first dimension where it said to the Dao Lord, "It pains me to say so, but that deal was a failure. It seems you guys were right. I really am an inexperienced greenhorn."
Even though Black Chain and Harem King were looking at him with a murderous gaze, he still continued to say, "Fortunately, I have another chance to make up for the errors of my way."
He pointed at the nine sealed avatars and said, "These are my opportunities to make another deal with you. I am selling them to the highest bidder."
"In exchange for these fine pieces of avatars, I want divine crystals, celestial gold, and a promise not to be attacked for 10 years. Let me just say that if I catch you people fixing prices again, I will cancel the deal."
Before anyone could complain about his terms, he said, "I retain the right to go ahead with the right to cancel a deal even if I have something with the highest bid. You also have the right not to buy anything from me."
"Like my previous offer, I won’t force anyone to partake in this silent auction. That is all for the rules. Any questions?"
When no one said anything, he said, "So be it. I swear in my Dao Heart to give those who pay me divine crystals, celestial gold, and swear not to attack me for 10 years unless I attack them the avatars that they paid for as soon as they complete these three requirements."
Then he clapped and said, "Let us begin."
He pointed at the black monkey representing the Death Supreme Metac and said, "This is the first one up for sale. If you’re interested, send a bid to me. I’ll give the avatar to the highest bidder. You can kill the avatar yourself."
Heavenly Eye immediately said, "I’d prefer it if you make this an open auction."
"I’m sure you will," he replied with a scoff. "I’m also sure you want an open auction so that you can strategize to cheat me."
"Unfortunately for you, I’ve learned my lesson. You will have one second to make a bid. The highest bid during that time will get the avatar."
Then he ignored her and said, "The bidding starts now."
Tepid Scholar sent a secret message to Heavenly Eye saying, "Nice try. Clearly, he wants to force us to offer as much as we can for his goods. He won’t allow us to suppress others with our wealth without actually paying a huge price for the avatars."
"I have underestimated this newbie," Heavenly Eye said in frustration. "How can someone who sprang out of nowhere be this tricky to deal with? Who is he and where is he from?"
After thinking for a while, Tepid Scholar said, "He reminds me of the fourth brother of the three cosmic brothers. But I’m not so sure about this after he killed that one avatar of theirs and got Golden Sun to kill himself."
"Anyway, what are we going to do now?" Heavenly Eye asked in anticipation. "Surely, you didn’t come to mock me for the failure of my plan and to tell me about some fourth brother."
Tepid Scholar said in reply, "I have a proposal. Let’s work together."
"We can’t cheat by suppressing others, but we can maximize our benefits by deciding on what to bid for. That way, our wealth won’t clash, nullifying each other."
Heavenly Eye’s eagle eyes immediately lit up as she said, "Good idea. Let’s do it."
"I want to remind you that we’re going to swear an oath to make this partnership official," Tepid Scholar said solemnly with a tone that brooked no debate.
