Chapter 1125: Hunger Demon.

The process of being devoured from within would be very painful, making the target feel a twisting hunger within them. The only way to alleviate this hunger was to eat and eat and eat.

Eating would satisfy the hunger. Unfortunately, eating was not a cure. Eating could only alleviate the pain until the target was hollowed out.

He didn’t seem to care about the incomplete Supreme Metac’s safety when he was infusing it with lifespan, and he didn’t care to marvel at his work when it was complete either.

He just threw it into the spark of power like it was something he wanted to get rid of as soon as possible. He was doing all of these to avoid fixating on why this upgrade had worked while the others failed.

This was why he didn’t look at what became of the Supreme Metac when it entered the 4-D Prototype. But even though he acted like it didn’t matter, this success still improved his confidence somewhat.

"Yes, I am that good," he nodded and said as he started work on the last ability.

The last ability was the Hunting Form Ability. He gained this one when Fenrir was upgraded to a Supreme Metac. Once activated, he could use it to turn into a wolf or create powerful wolf manifestations to hunt for him.

He took a while to analyze its abilities before proceeding with the upgrade. And even after analyzing its abilities, he took more time to work out what he hoped the upgraded final product would be capable of.

It was after he worked out the present set of rules of operation and the future rules that he began constructing the three-dimensional structure. Clearly, he was taking this attempt seriously.

If he said he didn’t care about its success or failure, he would be lying. He was putting too much work and attention into it to ensure that it would work, so there was no way he didn’t care about its outcome.

He still failed, though. Not only did he fail to make it without a template, he still failed to make it without a template.

At this point, failure wasn’t new to him. However, one thing did stand out in this failure. It was that both the attempt with a template and without a template failed at the last step.

This failure left him scratching his head, trying to figure out what was different about it. At the end of the day, he could only conclude that he wasn’t good enough.

Since he wasn’t good enough to create a Grand Dao with the Hunting Form Metac, he decided to reduce the difficulty. He decided to turn it into a Major Dao instead. This move had worked before, so he had a lot of expectations for it.

"There is just one problem," he said as he groaned in dismay.

"The Devouring Pathway is a Grand Dao, not a Major Dao. So if I want to convert the Hunting Form Ability into a Major Dao, it can’t be the Devouring Pathway. But what else could it be if not the Devouring Pathway?"

He didn’t know the answer to that question, but that wasn’t going to stop him. It was just because he was being stubborn and headstrong about this.

Yes, he was definitely unwilling to give up and was willing to expend effort to explore every dead end until he stumbled onto the truth. But this situation didn’t need that level of determination for his effort to bear useful fruit.

The fact is that no one needs to know what kind of Dao Path they are creating a Supreme Metac for during the process. For rank 8 cultivators trying to make a Supreme Metac, they don’t need to know what a Cosmic Dao is or the difference between Minor Daos and Grand Daos.

In fact, in many cases, the name of the pathway is not necessary. Most rank 8 cultivators don’t know the name of the pathway they are trying to create until after they’ve succeeded.

The only things needed to create a Supreme Metac are internally consistent logic of operation that is compatible with the external world and at least 7 units of commonality arranged in the right way from the x-axis to the x-axis.

Therefore, it helps to know what a Supreme Metac looks like. But it is necessary to know what the final product would become. As long as the final product has met part of the requirements for a Dao Source, it would be accepted and assisted to become a Supreme Metac.

So far, he has met all of the minimum requirements to make a Supreme Metac. He even has a material to use as a template, so as long as his rules are up to par, he will succeed. That’s what he has learned so far.

"When I knew everything and was meticulous with every step, I failed," he said as he created five Divine Metacs to use as raw materials.

As he upgraded the Divine Metacs to rank 8 Divine Positions, he said, "And when I didn’t know what I was doing, I still succeeded."

"So what matters is that I have good rules and that there is a Dao Source out there that likes my rules. I just have to see if my rules are good enough to attract the approval of someone out there."
