Chapter 1194: The Ultimatum.

The giant moose was silent for a long time. When he finally spoke, his voice was solemn as he said, "Your request is heavy."

"Any other Gemini would have refused to entertain this level of extravagance from their hired help. But I will oblige you."

Black Chain’s face cramped a bit when he heard the term with which he was referred to, but he still said, "I thank you for your generosity."

Upon hearing this, the giant moose laughed and said, "You’re lucky that I am a generous person."

Then their voice became serious again as they said, "However, I will need something from you before I give you the Cosmic Supreme Metac. You must annex ten worlds before I can give you the Cosmic Supreme Metac."

Black Chain felt like he had reached his limit, so he said, "It seems you’re mistaken about something. I don’t need the Cosmic Supreme Metac because I am being greedy. I need it to recover my strength because without it, I can’t help you anymore."

"I only have one Supreme Metac now, so if it is lost, I will die. I can’t take that risk, so I need another Supreme Metac and a second pathway."

"I would prefer the Death Supreme Metac. If I can’t have it, I’ll take any other Cosmic Supreme Metac you have."

"Barring that, I must have a Grand Supreme Metac. Something along the line of the Enslavement Pathway, Forging Pathway, and Money Pathway will do."

"I must have at least a Grand Dao, or we can’t work together anymore," he finished with a tone of finality.

The Nature God’s face was livid. He wanted to roar and insult this beast of burden that dared to talk back to him and make demands of him.

But he remembered that this was the only tool he had and could use at the moment. So he reined in his temper, for a while.

With barely suppressed anger, the Nature God said, "I will do what I can about getting you the Grand Supreme Metac. But you must swear an oath to do your best in invading worlds when I get it for you."

Black Chain knew that his invasion attempts were probably going to fail even if he was willing to lay his life on the line, but he still said without hesitation, "I swear on my Dao Heart to help you invade and annex your siblings’ worlds."

Unlike what the Nature God believed, he no longer had much manpower in his sect. Most of the divine beings in the sect were dead because he had killed them before his avatars were killed.

He had used the Life Leech Ability to drain all of their lifespans while he still had control of the pathway. As for the mortals of the pathways he lost, he had lost control of their cultivation too, since he no longer possessed the pathway’s Supreme Metacs.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, losing the Enslavement Pathway also cost him most of the contingency plans he’d placed on his disciples, and he lost the final shred of control he had over his disciples.

As it stood, he had no disciples with the Curse Pathway. And since Gemini’s could offer mortals lifespan, it was safe to say that he couldn’t recruit disciples for this pathway.

So he was barely hanging on as a Dao Lord. He had only one pathway, and his sect had no disciples on it. This was why he needed to recover one of his previous pathways before he could be of any use.

But even if he managed to recover one of his previous pathways, he still wouldn’t have any divine being any time soon. So it was unlikely he could succeed with an invasion system that needed divine beings.

He knew all this, yet he asked for Cosmic Supreme Metacs and swore oaths, promising to do his best. Clearly, his oath was like when the Will of the Blessed Heaven World had promised to kill Ragnarok if it could fight Ragnarok.

At the time, he had thought that the Will of the World meant that as long as Ragnarok’s avatar stepped into the Blessed Heaven World, the avatar would surely be put down. Now he knows he was wrong.

When he thought about how he was doing the same thing that was done to him to the Nature God, he chuckled inwardly and thought, ’In time, you too will learn how wrong you are to count on my oath.’

’And you will only have yourself to blame for it. After all, you saw me scheme without your consent and nearly killed Ragnarok before the whole world. Yet you didn’t think I was dangerous to work with.’

’You saw all of the signs, and you ignored them. When you’re burned, it will all be your fault.’

Meanwhile, the Nature God was nodding and saying, "That’s good. I’ll try to get the Grand Supreme Metac you need as soon as possible."

"Until then, prepare for the invasion. Amass your army and strengthen your troops. I will call on you when it is ready."

Their communication ended in that lukewarm note. The Nature God went to work trying to find a way to acquire a Grand Supreme Metac for Black Chain while Black Chain continued to scream about how the Olympic Sect and Ragnarok were cheating liars.

As for Loki, he was also busy trying to find a solution to the current problem of his slaughtered reputation. So far, he had made slight headway.

He caught up to a Gemini youngling, questioned them, and discovered that the Life Value Meters were worth only 10 units of Celestial Gold.

But 10 units of Celestial Gold was for the most expensive versions. The less accurate versions with poorer builds cost only 2 units of Celestial Gold.

When he found out about this, he cursed, saying, "Damn those bastards."

"They didn’t even double the cost. They directly made it a hundred times. That’s too much."
