Chapter 1220: You Can’t Do This Forever.

Bush Boy’s voice spread through the Sea of Worlds, reverberating again and again as it spread. The sound wave itself was slow, but it contained enough energy and power to cross 100,000 light years and reach the ends of the Sea of Worlds. It would just take a very long time for that to happen.

"Childish tricks," Loki said unperturbed. "Nothing can threaten me in the lower realm. You’re better off sending an avatar down to fight me."

"Fuck you, Ragnarok. You’ll pay for this, mark my words," Bush Boy said in anger. Then he closed the rift and left.

His shout did attract a lot of attention, though. Many Dao Lords opened rifts into the lower realm to see what was going on.

Most of them wanted to make sure this wasn’t a trap. When they saw Loki already there, extracting the world, they realized this was worse than a trap and immediately gave up.

The complication appeared when Heavenly Eye, Tepid Scholar, and Sword Maestro joined the crowd of onlookers. The eyes of these three Dao Lords nearly exploded with starlight when they saw their divine beings standing there looking fine and well.

For a while, the three of them didn’t understand what they were seeing. They stared in confusion, trying to understand why a Rank 6 divine being who should be dead was now a Rank 8 divine being.

Heavenly Eye was the first to understand what was happening. When she did, she burst out laughing. It was a laugh of anger and mockery. As for who she was mocking and angry with, it was up for debate.

"What did you do? How did you do it?" Tepid Scholar asked in confusion.

He, too, had understood what was going on. But instead of anger, he felt confused.

He wanted to know how Loki had managed it, but it wasn’t Loki who answered his question. Heavenly Eye, who was laughing like there was no tomorrow, said, "And you said it wasn’t possible."

"I knew that there was something off about him. I said that we should be careful, but you didn’t listen to me."

"I was right. Martial Will was also right. Who is the fool now?" she asked with a hint of mockery, still laughing in anger.

One of them looked confused, and the other laughed. This left the last one to berate Loki.

"You thief. You stole our divine beings. Every day I keep seeing why Black Chain hates you so much," Sword Maestro said with venom in his voice.

This was the crime scene. The evidence of his crime lay there. He was also at the crime scene, caught red-handed, so it was clear he had somehow helped convert these divine beings into the same pathway under another Dao Lord’s control.

Yet, Loki said, "You people and slander. It is almost as if slander and lying are your way of life."

"I know that you hate me, but you can’t go about just saying anything you want about me. I assure you that there will be a price to pay for such behavior. Just look at Black Chain."

Then he pointed at the divine beings and said, "These are the divine beings that I raised painstakingly in secret for over a thousand years. The fact that some of them look like the divine beings you know is a coincidence."

Tepid Scholar finally had enough and got angry. His true body dropped something in the lower realm. It was a white piece of paper with black runes written across its front, back, and edges.

The piece of paper was actually very big. It was over a kilometer wide and ten kilometers long. So it was more of a banner or canvas than a piece of paper. But compared to the size of a Dao Lord, it was really a piece of paper.

When the white piece of paper entered the lower realm, it ignited and turned into a ball of white fire. Then the ball of fire picked up speed and dropped down like a comet.

From afar, the ball of fire looked small and harmless. But just the fact that it was bigger than a small world and was over ten thousand kilometers across made it a threat capable of annihilating a world.

Loki had to take the attack seriously and activated the Devouring Ability. He forced a black sphere in front of him and made it collide with the white sphere.

There was no explosion when the two spheres smashed into each other. But a quiet sizzle sounded as the black sphere melted and shredded the white sphere. Then the black sphere encapsulated the white sphere’s fragments, devouring every last bit until nothing remained.

When the attack didn’t work, the Dao Lord of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect spat at him, saying, "You bastard."

Then he dropped more talismans from the upper realm onto Loki. Sword Maestro also joined in calling him names and attacking him.

Flashes of sword light fell from the sky together with colossal balls of fire like droplets of water during rain. Loki had to act again and again to defend the medium world he was invading and the divine army he had just created.

Meanwhile, Heavenly Eye watched everything with scrutinizing eyes. She didn’t say anything about how he had stolen her divine beings, and she didn’t attack him, but Loki felt that this wasn’t because she had given up on retaliation.

Be that as it may, despite their unnatural fixation and deep motivation, Tepid Scholar and Sword Maestro failed to destroy the medium world. They also failed to kill any of the members of his divine army.

But the two refused to give up. Tepid Scholar said, "You can’t protect them forever, Ragnarok. You can block for them now, but unless I hide them somewhere I can’t find them or stay with them forever, I will get them at some point."

This threat made Loki frown and say, "Think about what you’re doing. If you kill them, I will be forced to retaliate against you."
