Chapter 1228: What Is Conversion Efficiency?

He was willing to take the risk involved in creating the army of divine beings because even if a divine being blabs, it wouldn’t do much harm, because no divine being knows exactly what he did to upgrade their Divine Metacs.

Therefore, no matter what he does, he must make sure that the Devouring Supreme Metac continues to produce divinity. This is normally easy and doesn’t require his help or active input.

If left alone with enough divine crystals, the Devouring Supreme Metac and the godhead can run forever, producing divinity for him. It behaves like a perfect engine that way.

But once in a while, he has to activate the Supreme Metac or the Divine Metacs within it and use them to produce power, such as attacking someone, defending against an attack, or enhancing himself. The list of uses is endless.

When the Supreme Metac has to do something other than produce divinity, it needs to burn lifespan, which interferes with its normal operation. It will still work, but the process of producing power will hitch.

The main problem is that the Supreme Metac won’t mobilize its full volume immediately to produce power. Only a portion of the total volume will be used to produce power instantly. This portion of the Supreme Metac that can be mobilized immediately is the conversion efficiency.

The rest of the Supreme Metac will continue to activate and do the work they were assigned, but they will do that work over time, reducing the Supreme Metac’s power output.

Power is work done/time. So the longer the delay in mobilizing the Supreme Metac, the weaker the power output, even if the same amount of work is eventually done.

This begs the question: how can the entire volume of the Supreme Metac be mobilized instantly to create power while divinity is also being produced? The answer is to arrange the divinity in the Supreme Metac for instantaneous mobilization.

At least, that’s the answer he discovered so far. It is the culmination of his understanding of conversion efficiency, and other Dao Lords can have other philosophies about it.

After a period of activating the Supreme Metac to use the Hunting Form Metac, he discovered that the position and arrangement of the divinity affects the mobilization rate of the Supreme Metac.

So he postulated that if the 27 units of divinity were arranged in a certain way, he could use them to mobilize the entire volume of the Supreme Metac instantly when he needs to produce power.

He asked the Gemini younglings about this and confirmed that the position of divinity matters for conversion efficiency. However, their approach to this solution is slightly different from his.

They rely on luck and intuition to get the right answer, but he chose brute force. By running different positions each time he activates the Supreme Metac for power, he can find the answer much faster than they can.

’If only the position were one-dimensional. How easy would it be?’ he thought, groaning.

There were 27 units of divinity in the Devouring Supreme Metac. If the position he needed were along a straight line, he would only need to consider one direction for the divinity when activating the Supreme Metac.

To achieve 10% conversion efficiency, he needs to put 2.7 or 3 units out of the 27 units of divinity into the proper order. If their positions only need to synchronize in one dimension, it will be easy to synchronize the three units of divinity to flow in a straight line.
