Chapter 1275: A Threat And A Bribe.

He grinned wickedly, thinking, ‘If he challenges me now, he will have to use the 4-D prototype in the spark of power, but when he does, he will take on 35 Entropy backlash each time he activates it. So the 4-D prototype will kill him faster the more he uses it.’

Chuckling in amusement, he thought, ‘Maybe that’s why he hasn’t challenged me so far. He is probably scared and is spending all of this time planning how to deal with the 4-D prototype.’

This possibility made him burst out laughing. Whenever he thought of the great and powerful Astra racking his brain to deal with the 4-D prototype, he would laugh harder.

As he laughed, the gloom that was pooling in his chest peeled away a little at a time. His heart felt lighter, and his mood improved thanks to the bout of laughter.

The gloom didn’t disappear completely, though. After all, the source of the gloom wasn’t something he could forget or eliminate with laughter.

But he did conclude, ‘When there is a will, there is a way.’

‘If I can find a way to deal with Astra, I’m sure I can find a way to deal with the Gemini. I just have to find a feasible method using the spark of power.’

‘Speaking of the spark of power and what I can do with it, it is time to take the Seal of Death for a spin,’ he thought with a smile.

The future was full of challenges, but in the moment, he was happy with his two pathways. To make sure that they were the best fit for him, he had to put the newbie to work first.

Fortunately, a great opportunity arose to test what the Seal of Death could do. It coincided with his goal of expanding his Domains and establishing more Domains in the lower realm, so it was a way to kill two birds with one stone.

While his true body got to working on taking the Seal of Death for a spin, his avatar in the lower realms was setting up the opportunity to use it.

His avatar was still in the Blessed Heaven World, the only world with his Domain. The avatar roamed the Domains of the Blessed Heaven World, recruiting mortals into his sect while Dao Lords watched his every move from the divine constellation above.

“What are you doing?” Heavenly Eye asked him openly through the divine constellation.

“I’m recruiting mortals,” he replied.

Scoffing, Heavenly Eye said, “I can see that. But I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about your promise of increasing the lifespan of your disciples. Is this a scam?”

“I guess only time will tell if it is a scam,” he said with a mental shrug.

“A scam won’t work,” Heavenly Eye said confidently. “Tepid Scholar will see right through it and expose you to everyone, destroying the reputation of your sect.”

“That won’t happen if I’m working with Tepid Scholar,” he said with a smile.

Heavenly Eye was taken aback when she heard Loki’s claim. She glanced at Tepid Scholar for a moment, thinking.

When she couldn’t figure it out, she shook his head and said, “Why would he work with you to hide a secret she could use to destroy you?”

“If I offer him a benefit for working with me, he will keep his mouth shut. Don’t you think?” he said, asking with a smile.

She smiled back at him and said, “That could work. But you will also need to offer the other Dao Lords something so that they don’t blab.”

Shaking his head, he said, “Forget about the other Dao Lords. I think I should make a deal with you because you’re the most observant Dao Lord among them.”

“You flatter me,” she said, chuckling. “My eyes are barely passable. At best, I can only see a little bit more than other Dao Lords.’

She was being humble, but she didn’t reject the bribe even once.

In fact, instead of rejecting it, she said, “So what deal do you have in mind?”

Seeing her reaction, Loki rolled his eyes inwardly as he thought, ‘I would be surprised if you rejected my offer. After all, you’ve been hinting at it all along that you will see through my scam and will use it against me.’

Of course, what he was doing wasn’t a scam, and Heavenly Eye couldn’t find anything incriminating. But he wanted her to feel like she had the advantage, so he decided to indulge her.

He sent a secret message to her, saying, “I have a Major Supreme Metac. It is the Soul Supreme Metac. I am willing to offer it to you for certain benefits.”

Heavenly Eye was immediately hooked. Her face was calm and placid, but inside, her eyes gleamed as she said, “I knew I liked you, Ragnarok.”

“Everyone says you’re shady, untrustworthy, and up to no good. But they are all wrong. After all, they say the same thing about me, and they are definitely wrong.

“So what benefits do you seek in exchange for that Supreme Metac? I’ll try my best to fulfill your heart’s desires.”

“I’m sure they were lying,” Loki said while struggling to keep a straight face. “I want three things. The first is the most important one. I want a Minor Supreme Metac in exchange.”

“Of course, I also want you to ignore anything untoward you see about my sect. But that’s not worth a Major Dao. I still want a Minor Dao to make up for it.”

In response, Heavenly Eye sighed and said, “You’re lucky I like you. If not, I won’t take this deal at all.”

It was more that the deal was too good to pass up. First of all, Loki was only asking her to ignore what she saw. He didn’t say that she couldn’t help another Dao Lord discover that same thing.

Secondly, she did have a Minor Supreme Metac that she wasn’t using at all. It was the Berserker Supreme Metac.
