THE GOD EATER

Chapter 1276: Too Good To Be True.

Chapter 1276: Too Good To Be True.

She couldn’t use the Berserker Supreme Metac, but she could use the Soul Supreme Metac. So it was a no-brainer to exchange a Minor Dao she couldn’t use for a Major Dao she could use and a way to cheat Loki in the future.

“What is your third request?” she asked with a straight face while struggling to suppress a smirk.

“I have been curious about the ancient cultivators recently. I want to know more about their cultivation system. Do you know how they became divine beings and Dao Lords without using Metacs?”

No matter how she looked at it, Heavenly Eye didn’t think much about this request. In fact, she didn’t want him to realize that she was taking advantage of him and change his requests.

So she said hurriedly, “If that is all, you have a deal. I swear on my Seer Pathway to give you the Berserker Supreme Metac, not expose your scheme with your sect to the whole world, and tell you everything I know about the ancient cultivation system, as long as you give me the Soul Supreme Metac.”

Loki noticed how she never mentioned that the Minor Dao she was going to use for the exchange was the Berserker Supreme Metac. In fact, they didn’t talk about which Minor Dao she would use. She seemed to skip the negotiation on that part of the deal and settled on the Berserker Supreme Metac.

He also noticed how her oath only ensured that she wouldn’t expose his crime to the whole world. So she could still expose the crime to a few people.

Clearly, she was trying to cheat him. But even though he didn’t care and would still come out on top, he refused to back down so easily.

In fact, one of his goals for this deal was the Berserker Supreme Metac, but he still shook his head and said, “I never agreed to the Berserker Supreme Metac. I want something more useful to me. Don’t you have anything else?”

“Unfortunately, that’s the only Minor Supreme Metac I have. If you don’t take it, I will be forced to speak about anything fishy I notice about your sect,” she said, threatening him.

Of course, Loki knew that the Berserker Supreme Metac was the only Minor Dao she had. So he was prepared for this.

He said, “Since you don’t have something more useful, I will have to take it. But you still have to add something else to make the deal worthwhile for me.”

“What else could you possibly want?” she asked, frowning.

Loki pretended to struggle for a while, looking for something he could ask of her. When he thought that he had pretended long enough, he said, “I need to borrow some divine beings. Only the Rank 8 ones.”

This time, Heavenly Eye sensed something amiss. She narrowed her eyes and asked, “What do you need them for?”

“I need them to invade a world for me. I promise not to harm them at all and will do my best to protect them, including descending with my avatar to protect them.”

“Hmmm. How dangerous is this world?” she asked, suspiciously. “And why do you want to invade it?”

“The world is at most a large one. I won’t use your divine beings to invade a super world,” he said reassuringly. “As for my purpose for the invasion, that’s a secret. I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you now.”

When she heard his response, she snorted inwardly and thought, ‘I will learn the purpose of the invasion from my divine beings at the end of the day.`

`Besides, what else could it be aside from invading a world to spread his Domain? I can even use this to fleece him again by making sure the invasion fails.’

After thinking about his offer, she said, “You have a deal.”

“I swear on my Seer Pathway to give you the Berserker Supreme Metac, lend you my Rank 8 disciples in the Blessed Heaven World to invade large worlds, not expose your scheme with your sect to the whole world, and tell you everything I know about the ancient cultivation system, as long as you give me the Soul Supreme Metac.”

Instead of giving her the Soul Supreme Metac, Loki coughed and said, “I don’t want to be that guy, but I still have some things that I hope you’ll change about that oath.”

“What do you want now?” she asked, her frustration clear in her voice.

He replied, “I would prefer it if you swore on your Dao Heart, and I also want to borrow every Rank 8 disciple in your sect, not just the ones in the Blessed Heaven World.”

Her Seer Pathway is only a Major Dao. So she won’t lose anything if she takes his Soul Supreme Metac and refuses to do what she promised.

If she had sworn the oath on her Truth Pathway, he wouldn’t complain, since this was a Grand Dao. Losing a Grand Dao for a Major Dao like the Soul Supreme Metac was clearly a bad idea. No one would make such an exchange, especially not a Dao Lord and definitely not one as smart and cunning as Heavenly Eye.

But Heavenly Eye wasn’t going to use her Truth Pathway as collateral since she was still pretending that she didn’t have it. He also couldn’t ask her to since he wasn’t supposed to know that she possessed the Truth Pathway.

Asking her to swear on her Dao Heart was asking for her utmost sincerity, and just as she expected, she took the request seriously and didn’t agree immediately.

Instead, she began thinking about his requests to see if there was a trap. If a request was too much for her to fulfill, she would lose consciousness and all her pathways, so Loki could use this method to bring her down without fighting her.

After thinking about his four requests, she concluded, ‘I have the initiative here. Everything is to my advantage in every way. In fact, the deal is just too good.’
