Chapter 1292: Familiar Faces.
Chapter 1292: Familiar Faces.
Only now after seeing the things she hid that he realized just how wealthy Heavenly Eye had been. From what he could see, she was definitely the wealthiest Dao Lord in the Sea of Worlds.
"It seems she was telling the truth when she claimed she was hiding a lot of good things. Her wealth is now mine, though!" he said, eyes gleaming with greed. "So it was a good thing that I killed her."
Every Dao Lord believed her exposed wealth was now theirs, triggering a rush. Everyone rushed to whatever was closest to grab it.
Just before Loki joined the hunt, he looked down at the Blessed Heaven World and noticed Golden Sun’s absence. From his experience in the previous timelines, Heavenly Eye hid the luck cultivator with a broken celestial artifact.
The broken celestial artifact, the hammer, had now appeared. But Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven, where he was hiding, was no longer attached to the hammer.
’Did someone take Golden Sun already, or did he escape when I wasn’t looking?’ he wondered.
But he didn’t dwell on it because he didn’t need Golden Sun for anything. In fact, he didn’t need the hammer either, which is why he neglected both of them for so long.
Even now, he only wanted the hammer because it was there for the taking. But he still didn’t go after it just yet. Instead, he searched the upper and lower realms first to note the location of the treasures.
When he finished inspecting the treasures and noting their locations, he rushed to take as much celestial gold as he could in the upper realm. His avatars were also scavenging for celestial gold in the lower realm.
He prioritized celestial gold because it was the easiest to spend and use to increase his strength. Celestial artifacts were second on the list, since they could be repaired to become useful. But his interest in them was so low that the only reason they were not third on the list was that no one could take the large world, and it would always be there.
So after he finished hunting celestial gold, he went for the hammer. Then he went to encourage the new large world to advance before establishing his Domain on it.
While the rush and craze for exposed loot raged, Martial Will was confused.
The Dao Lord of the Martial Body Sect looked around, wondering aloud, "What the hell happened?"
White Chain shrugged and said, "Don’t ask me. I don’t know."
"I didn’t ask you," Martial Will said, annoyed.
"It sounded like you did," White Chain shot at him.
"As best as I know, what happened was that Loki played a trick on them and they fell for it," Heavenly Eagle said, explaining to him.
"But as for what that trick was, I don’t know. All I know is that mother died, her secret stash stopped being hidden, and I became an adult."
"Thank you," Martial Will said begrudgingly.
"It was no trouble. I am just so happy to be an adult," Heavenly Eagle said, somewhat excited.
"I have been looking forward to being in this place, talking to you for a long time. Now that I’ve gotten my wish, I must say that you’re a better conversationalist than your son."
"Thank you?" Martial Will asked, uncertain what to say about that compliment.
"Enough chit-chat," Red Sword said, interrupting their discussion. "Do we ascend or what?"
"We should ascend as soon as possible," White Chain said immediately.
"Ragnarok is too powerful and is constantly growing stronger. We need a Mountain Lord to compete with him and stop the lower realm from being his exclusive plaything."
"Plus, we need a second Divine Court to compete with the Olympic Sect. Too many people are scrambling to get into the Olympic Sect and depositing their celestial gold into it. The more celestial gold they contribute, the more unwilling they will be to leave and start anew in another Divine Court."
"In summary, if we allow Ragnarok and the Olympic Court to continue growing unimpeded, they will become too powerful to challenge in one year when we can openly challenge him. Therefore, it is imperative that we ascend as soon as possible," White Chain said with a grave tone.
Martial Will was silent for a while. But then he said, "It seems I won’t like you."
White Chain said nonchalantly, "That’s okay. I don’t like you too."
Heavenly Eagle immediately intervened and said, "White Chain is not wrong, though. Ragnarok has to be stopped."
"It is not up to me anyway," Martial Will said, shrugging.
"I’ve wanted the Blessed Heaven World to ascend for a long time. But Ragnarok sold a Major Supreme Metac to the Will of the World, and the Will has been busy ever since."
"What an ingenious plan. Sell a Supreme Metac to your strongest competitor to delay them. As expected, Ragnarok is so much smarter than Onslaught," Heavenly Eagle said, her voice full of admiration.
"Ragnarok is so sneaky and devious," Harem Queen said, licking her lips. "I like it."
"Leave this to me. I will find a way to convince the Will of the World to ascend," White Chain said confidently.
Upon hearing this, Martial Will scoffed. He wanted to belittle the Gemini, say the Will of the World couldn’t be convinced, and hope the attempt would fail and teach White Chain a lesson.
But he also wanted White Chain to succeed because he was starting to feel threatened by Ragnarok and because he wanted to become a Mountain Lord, which could only be achieved if one of the super worlds he had invested in ascended.
So he didn’t know what to hope for regarding White Chain’s attempt. He seemed to want the Gemini to succeed and fail in equal proportion.
However, as much as he wanted White Chain to succeed, he also understood that if White Chain succeeded, the situation with the Blessed Heaven World would take a new hectic turn, which might not be good for him.
