Chapter 1291: Stolen Identity.
Plus, some of the Dao Lords who tore open rifts in the sky and offered their Supreme Metacs were familiar with it. The familiarity helped a lot to reduce its wariness towards the Gemini people, making the Will of the World, consider their offer.
About 20 Dao Lord offered their pathways, promising to assist the Blessed Heaven World. Four of them looked exactly like Black Chain, Heavenly Eye, Sword Maestro, and Harem King offered pathways that the Will of the World was familiar with and recognized.
This Black Chain offered the Forging Pathway, Money Pathway, Enslavement Pathway, Death Pathway, Mind Hunter Pathway, and Curse Pathway.
The Heavenly Eye offered the Truth Pathway, Illusion Pathway, Perception Pathway, Seer Pathway, and Deceiver Pathway. Sword Maestro produced the Sword Pathway and Killing Pathway, while Harem King offered the Emotions Pathway and the Lust Pathway.
These pathways would fit directly into the world, strengthening it without any hassle. So the Will of the Blessed Heaven World decided to accept them.
As the Supreme Metacs were accepted and anchored, they integrated directly into the super world. Instead of building their own Domains, they attached to the domains of their predecessors, whom Loki had just killed.
When Loki saw this, he said, "This isn’t normal."
Then he realized that he was speaking out loud, so he stopped talking immediately and switched to thinking about the matter in the most secure place he knew.
In the spark of power, he thought, ’It was exactly as the guardian said would happen. The Gemini younglings will become adults when their parents die.’
’That is strange enough, but it is far stranger than I expected. Apparently, the Gemini younglings didn’t grow into a different person when they matured. It is like they took the identity of their parents too. Or replacement even.’
He felt sure of his conjecture because two Dao Lords with the same kind of Supreme Metac shouldn’t be able to use each other’s Domains. They shouldn’t be able to use each other’s Domains because they’re different entities.
But not only did these Gemini people take up the Domains of their parents as if their parents never died, but they also took over the sects their parents left behind.
As he watched, the fallen Divine Positions rose into the sky to orbit the Supreme Metacs of the Gemini people. The divine beings who lost their power regained it, and the mortals who lost their Dao Status got it back.
It was as if the Dao Lords of the sects never died and everything that happened earlier was a hallucination, chilling Loki to the bone. Only Tepid Scholar’s son was still a youngling and couldn’t inherit what the Dao Lord of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect left behind.
’Is this going to be my fate?’ he thought, watching the foes he had just killed return for another round.
’Can identity be stolen? No wonder that good-for-nothing son of mine tried to take the spark of power from me last timeline when I died.’
What was also bad, aside from the possibility of his son taking all that he was, was the fact that these replacements would be more difficult to kill now. He came to this conclusion when he remembered what the guardian had said about how Geminis can resurrect each other.
’So not only is it impossible to force the world to remove their pathways now, but I have to kill the two of them at the same time, or they will just resurrect each other.’
Chuckling, he thought, ’Maybe it wasn’t a bad thing that I let Tepid Scholar survive. At least, his being alive will stop a more powerful version of him from appearing.’
He had let Tepid Scholar leave because he swore an oath with the Blessed Heaven World not to damage it and didn’t want to break that oath for something as cheap as Tepid Scholar.
Plus, he wanted to use Tepid Scholar’s remnant as a lab rat to test the Seal of Death’s long-range killing capabilities some more. And even if Tepid Scholar returned, he wanted to see how a defeated Dao Lord would reincarnate and learn from it.
He felt that learning how to reincarnate safely while his enemies pursued him was a great skill. He had at least wanted to have it as an alternative in case he had to commit suicide and hide in the lower realms from the guardian.
The guardian didn’t seem able to enter the lower realm, so he believed hiding there could be a great alternative when something went wrong, and he expected something to go wrong. At least with a place to hide, even if temporary, he could gain some reprieve from the guardian and use the opportunity to activate the Rewind Metac instead of doing so in front of the guardian and taking a spear attack to the face.
He was thinking about this and many other contingency plans to deal with the guardian. Unfortunately, he couldn’t dwell on it for long because many things were still happening across the Sea of Worlds that required his attention.
Heavenly Eye didn’t hide things in just the Blessed Heaven World. She hid things in her Domains all over the Sea of Worlds, and she hid things outside her Domains too.
She hid many things in other people’s Domains, most of which were useless things meant to throw off anyone looking or to test the perception of the Dao Lords who owned the Domains. But once in a while, there was a pile of celestial gold or a decrepit celestial artifact here and there.
Then there were the worlds she hid. Aside from the three large worlds she hid, there was a fourth large world, twelve medium worlds, and thirty-six small worlds.
She hid things in the upper realm too. In fact, because she could use her full power in the upper realm, she was able to hide more things there.
"What a hoarder," Loki said, surprised, when he saw what looked like a giant golden net in the upper realm.
