Chapter 1324: Unstoppable Force Vs Immovable Force.
War Mongerer was trying to erase the events that had happened, including the one where Loki took their Core Metacs. But Loki didn’t want to lose the Core Metacs, and he definitely didn’t want the progress he had made in his conversion efficiency to reverse, so he refused to let the Core Metacs go.
His unwillingness to lose his conversion-efficiency progress is why he didn’t put the Core Metacs in the spark of power and call it a day. If he put the Core Metacs in the spark of power, as he had always done before, the Core Metacs would be cut off from the world, and the timeline would be free to reset as War Mongerer wanted.
In that case, he would get to keep the Metacs while War Mongerer got to reverse time. But he didn’t want War Mongerer to reverse time, so he held on stubbornly to the Core Metacs, even though it cost him a lot of lifespan to keep them from disappearing.
One reason he could do something like this was that he was stronger than War Mongerer and could resist. The other reason he held the upper hand was that he had a lot of lifespan to use to resist.
But perhaps the most important reason he could hold on so long was that he wasn’t producing Entropy. This was important because every moment of stalled time flow like this produced a vast amount of Entropy for both parties.
The matter looked like a clash between two people, but its impact was much greater than either of them. One side was bearing the weight of the whole timeline and was willing to serve as its anchor. The other side was trying to erase a timeline and change the story of the world.
The outcome of their struggle would affect the trillions of lives in the Sea of Worlds, and right now, all of those lives were frozen in time with an undetermined fate. So the amount of Entropy that both sides had to withstand was enormous.
Worse, the backlash of Entropy and the consumption of lifespan increased exponentially every moment the timeline’s fate was in limbo. Therefore, the longer the stalemate continued, the more expensive the struggle would become and the higher the price they would have to pay for victory.
The struggle should have hurt both sides, but one side wasn’t producing any Entropy, leaving the other to shoulder it all. The side that wasn’t suffering the backlash of Entropy also had 14 billion years of lifespan to burn, while the other party had less than a million years.
The side with less lifespan and all of the Entropy was also weaker. So to say it would be difficult to determine an outcome would be a lie.
War Mongerer sensed the inevitable and wisely gave up early. The Time Loop Supreme Metac thus stopped moving through time and fused back into his body.
When reality hit him again, he realized that he managed to move less than one second into the past. The wolf was still lunging at him, and his two brothers were dying.
Seeing this, he roared in anger, saying, "Damn you, Ragnarok."
Loki heard the shout through the wolf and became nostalgic. He had heard that kind of anguished reprimand before, and it brought back pleasant memories.
’Reminds me of the good old times,’ Loki thought with a grin as he stuffed celestial gold into his two godheads.
He had experienced something like this with War Mongerer before. Back then, War Mongerer was called Time Traveler.
He beat Time Traveler, so he was confident in his victory for their second round of battle. Combined with the fact that this wasn’t his first time struggling with a Time Lord, he didn’t let their battle distract him from advancing to three-star celestial.
He put 200 units of celestial gold into each godhead, spending 400 units just like that. The godheads contained 100 units of celestial gold before, so adding 200 units raised their wealth to 300 units.
When each godhead reached a total of 300 units, the celestial gold combined into one ball, fusing the two Supreme Metacs in the godhead.
This fusion caused the godhead to vibrate violently, as if it were about to fall apart. So Loki tried to maintain stability by activating the Main Divine Ability and keeping it active.
The Main Divine Ability gave the godhead purpose and maintained its structure by forcing it to channel its energy to produce useful power instead of vibrating. With no energy to waste and a structure imposed on it, the godhead vibrated less.
Thanks to the 20% conversion efficiency, he mobilized enough of the Supreme Metac to prevent the godhead from collapsing. Instead, it underwent its second split. The 300 units of celestial gold split into three portions of 100 units each, creating three copies of the Supreme Metac in the process.
’Nice going, Loki. You’ve done it again,’ he thought, shaking his head and smiling.
’How do you keep doing this?’
He wanted to praise himself a while longer, but he knew he was running out of time to make his great escape, so he stopped short.
Both the Devouring Supreme Metac and the Seal of Death Supreme Metac had advanced to three-star celestial and now had three copies of themselves in their godheads. The third godhead was also activated and joined the inner orbit, forming three godheads rotating around the Divine Spark.
Loki had already prepared the Knowledge Supreme Metac for the occasion, so he didn’t hesitate to drop it into the third godhead. He poured red glowing divine crystals into the third godhead and watched it spring to life, churning out divinity for him to use.
By the time he was done, the three Cosmic Brothers were dead, and the black force field brought back their Supreme Metacs.
He didn’t get to devour all of them, though. War Mongerer committed suicide, scattering his Supreme Metacs into the lower realm before the wolf could get to him.
