Chapter 893: Shall We?

With the boundary of space and time broken around him, cracks began to spread out from him. This was going on in the river of time and within someone’s Cave Heaven, but this level of power was still enough to alarm Dao Lords.

Rifts were torn in the sky of the second dimension, and pairs of colorful eyes peeked through the rifts. The eyes saw a black river with what appeared to be a whirlpool stirring its surface.

The Dao Lords couldn’t see what was going on in the river of death. But they could tell that there was something very powerful at the bottom of the river.

They didn’t expect whatever was at the bottom of the river to last long. After all, it was only a matter of time before the river killed it. So they decided to wait for whatever was in the river to come up.

In the Cave Heaven, cracks were spreading out from Loki’s position. The river of death was surging into the Cave Heaven through the cracks. But the power of the Cave Heaven stopped them.

The power of the cracks also diminished greatly the further away they were from him. So the Cave Heaven was still undoing everything he had done.

The power of the Time Loop Supreme Metac seemed unstoppable. After all, this was Time Traveler’s Cave Heaven. It was his domain, so he should get to control what happens in it.

Besides, he had already set up the Time Loop effect long before Loki arrived. So the best Loki should be able to do now is slow down the rate at which the condition of the Cave Heaven was restored or make Time Traveler spend more lifespan executing the restoration.

But Loki was being stubborn. Instead of resisting changes to the Cave Heaven, which he knew he would most likely lose, he decided to resist changes to himself.

In short, he refused to move. No matter how the world around him surged and pulled, he remained immobile. He was untouchable, and there was nothing the Time Traveler could do to him.

So the time in the Cave Heaven continued to rewind, but Loki stayed in his position. And when the Cave Heaven reached the state where the Time Loop Metac was used, he was still standing in his position.

When he sensed the power of time dwindle to nothing, he deactivated the spark of power. So the cracks disappeared, and his figure was revealed again.

There was a smile on his face when he reappeared. As he smiled, he looked around at the Cave Heaven, inspecting the changes that had happened. He was like a tourist visiting a historical sight.

After a few seconds of examination, he clapped and said, "Impressive. Very impressive."

Then he smirked and asked Time Traveler, saying, "Shall we go for another round?"

But Time Traveler shook his head and said, "Forget it. I’ve lost. You won."

In response, Loki pretended to be sad as he said, "What a pity. I quite enjoyed that."

Even as he was speaking, he had already used the tracking mark on Time Traveler and was activating the Seal Ability. So by the time he was done speaking, a black force field had begun to encapsulate Time Traveler.

He was being trapped and devoured, but Time Traveler didn’t seem to mind. He said calmly, "It seems you’re strong. And it seems you’ve regained your senses. Those are good things."

"It is just a pity that it came at the cost of losing your memories. But that’s fine. At least, it seems you will be able to avenge us. My death is not so bad knowing that you will use my power to defeat them."

During Time Traveler’s entire speech, Loki didn’t let down his guard one moment. He knew that Time Traveler was only giving up because the fallen Dao Lord was spent, so he didn’t believe a word of Time Traveler’s self-proclaimed brotherly generosity.

From what he could see through the Power Identification, Time Traveler only had 61 years of lifespan left. This meant that Time Traveler didn’t have enough lifespan to activate his Supreme Metac even once.

If Time Traveler couldn’t activate his Time Supreme Metac one more time, it meant that the fallen Dao Lord was at best a rank 8 cultivator. The gap between a rank 9 and a rank 8 cultivator is wide, but considering that Time Traveler doesn’t have a body, he should be several times weaker than a rank 8 divine being.

Despite all of these shortcomings, Loki could still feel a faint sense of danger from Time Traveler. This was the main reason he didn’t let down his guard for any moment.

For some reason, the Danger Sense was warning him of danger that was slowly but surely increasing over time. So he didn’t bother to waste time chatting with Time Traveler. He focused on sealing the fallen Dao Lord and devouring him as soon as possible.

Just before Time Traveler was completely devoured, he sighed and said, "It seems you have also become shrewd. What a pity. A little bit more and you would have fallen for it."

He was talking about how he only needed a few seconds more to bring his Cave Heaven to the surface of the river of death and expose it to the world in the hopes that a Dao Lord would see it. That’s what he had been doing all of this time.

He claimed that he had given up, but he was secretly setting Loki up to die together with him. All of the things he was saying were to preoccupy Loki’s attention until it was too late.

If the situation had gone even better, he would be able to force Loki to give up by threatening to expose his Cave Heaven. He needed Loki not to make any move this whole time for this to work, though. Unfortunately for him, Loki didn’t take any chances with the fight.
