Chapter 946: Giving Up For Dear Life.

Not just anything could be judged as weakness by the curse, though. Any weakness must be an attribute or characteristic of the target that’s smaller, poorer, or weaker than the corresponding attribute or characteristic in the user of the Death Declaration Ability.

In order to fulfill this request, the curse began to compare their attributes. It compared their strength, speed, defense, total power output, and the level of injury on both sides.

As it turned out, Loki had exactly the same amount of strength, speed, and defense as the black monkey. This meant that he wasn’t weak in this aspect. The same was true for the power of his mind, will, and soul.

Next in line was the comparison of their total power output. Loki aced this one because he was currently producing more power than the black monkey.

Then their level of injury was compared. The black monkey had more Entropy than Loki, so Loki also won this comparison handily.

The only place Loki was behind was in the amount of lifespan they both had. The black monkey had more lifespan than him, so it was determined that he was weak in this aspect. Because of this, the curse was able to burrow into his existence.

After burrowing, the curse took root in his existence. Then it began to grow.

The curse consumed the black monkey’s lifespan to grow. It wasn’t the only one doing so. There were six other curses currently growing within Loki’s existence. When one of them reaches maturity, he will die.

One of the reasons why none of rjr curses have reached maturity was that Loki’s lifespan was constantly increasing while the black monkey’s lifespan was reducing. This narrowed the gap between their lifespan and reduced the validity of the judgement of weakness in regard to Loki’s lifespan.

With the weakness of lifespan weakening, the growth rate of the curses was reducing. In fact, the weakness they found was shrinking and trying to expel them. It is only a matter of time before they are removed from Loki’s existence.

Fortunately, one of them was able to mature. It bloomed and produced a black fruit. After the back fruit appeared, Loki’s existence began to fall apart.

Loki’s existence seemed to lose its foundation, and like a house without a foundation, it came falling down. Loki didn’t even have time to cry or beg for mercy or resist. He just stiffened and fell over. Then his body shattered.

This scene was what the black monkey and Black Chains wanted to see so badly. It was what it was looking forward to with all of its might. Unfortunately, it couldn’t happen because Loki removed the curse before it could mature.

The curse was insidious, and the process of removing it would damage his existence. It was like the tracking mark, except it had burrowed into his body.

However, just like other rank 9 avatars could perceive his tracking marks and remove them, he could also do the same to the curses. His power output was also much stronger than what the black monkey could produce. So he was fully capable of removing the curses.

He only needed some time to remove the curses. Therefore, no matter how many times Black Chains cursed him, the curse failed to be executed, and he refused to die.

However, while he could shrug off the impact of the curses, the other avatars weren’t so lucky. The three avatars of Heavenly Eye and Martial Will were weaker than the black monkey in every aspect. This made them more susceptible to the curse.

The black monkey had cursed them earlier before it engaged Loki. However, Black Chains had refrained from using the curse because it would produce too much Entropy compared to killing the avatars normally.

If the curse had worked, all of their lifespans would be converted into a debt of Entropy that he had to pay later. So it was best to use the curse on someone who was close to death and had little lifespan left. That way the backlash of Entropy from the success of the curse would be minimal.

Despite this consideration, Black Chains had been willing to bear the Entropy for killing the dragon with the curse because if he could kill the dragon, he would be able to kill everyone else and would have nothing left to fear.

But the curse failed to kill the dragon. So he went for the second best.

The instant Black Chains made his decision, the curse began to grow within them. In less than a second, Heavenly Eye and Martial Will realized that they wouldn’t be able to remove the curse before it matured. So they gave up quickly.

They did so begrudgingly, but they also did it as fast as possible. The three avatars stopped fighting the monkeys and rushed into the sky to meet their true body.

One of the eagles managed to grab the relic on the ground before she rose into the air. Other than that, they didn’t take anything with them into the sky.

Black Chains also decisively stopped using the curse. He gave up on killing them because the three avatars would return to their true bodies before the curse could mature and because he couldn’t afford the debt of Entropy from killing them.

The main use of the curse was to scare them. Now that they had been sufficiently scared and were running away, his avatars could also use this opportunity to return to their true body.

So as the giant avatar and the two eagle avatars rose into the sky, three monkeys pursued them into the sky. The only ones still fighting below were the dragon and the black monkey.

Black Chains struggled to hold on for as long as needed. But the time to let go came when his three avatars returned to his true body.

As soon as he regained his three avatars, he said coldly, "So be it."

As if in response to his words, the black monkey stiffened below. Then it shattered into pieces. Even the pieces it shattered into also dissolved into dust.
