Chapter 958: Negotiating A Deal.

With a pained and strained voice, Monarch Truth and False explained slowly, "So here is the deal, If you kill the death avatar and the forging avatar, I will give you a divine crystal. If you can’t do that, you can also kill the avatars belonging to the Enslavement Pathway, Money Pathway, and the Forging Pathway. As for the avatar of the Mind Hunter Pathway, I don’t care about it."

As Loki digested the information in the message, he came to understand a lot more about pathways and Supreme Metacs.

’Hmm. So the quality of a pathway is actually dependent on its potential. It seems it is normal that not every pathway can reach a size of 9,9,1. Dao Lords really know a lot more about cultivation than I do.’

Then he said to Monarch Truth and False, "Tell your Dao Lord that their offer is poor. Let’s make the exchange rate more reasonable. I will kill one avatar of the Cosmic Dao or two avatars with a Grand Dao for a large piece of divine crystal."

"They also mustn’t cheat me regarding the size of the divine crystal. The divine crystal must be large enough for two people to use to ascend. And they must give me my reward as soon as I kill the avatars."

Three seconds later, Monarch Truth and False groaned loudly. He even held his head as if he was being plagued by a particularly strong migraine.

His figure also began to sway in the air. As he swayed like he was on a tightrope, he said, "You don’t need a lot of divine crystals to ascend. The amount of divine crystals doesn’t matter in the success of ascension. The size of the divine crystal only determines how soon after ascension you need to replenish the fuel for your star."

"That aside, I will give you enough to last two hundred years. As for the exchange rate, I find it agreeable. Therefore, I shall accept your offer and make this deal with you."

Monarch Truth and False became silent after saying this. He had his eyes closed and was wincing in pain.

When Loki saw his behavior, he chuckled and said to himself, ’Been there, done that. So I can relate. It is not pleasant at all.’

Then he looked around, wondering, ’Jokes aside, I hope that lying eagle doesn’t think I will think we have a deal just because she said we have a deal. If she doesn’t swear an oath, then she is only deceiving herself, not me.’

’Should I ask her to swear an oath? I would have thought it was common to swear an oath to show sincerity. She should know this, so I don’t need to remind her. The only reason she wouldn’t swear the oath is if she is trying to trick me.’

Just as he was about to speak up, he felt the world vibrate around him. The vibration was subtle and weak. It felt as if someone was whispering in his ears.

The whispering was so silent it was nearly inaudible. But he strained his ears and heard someone say, "I, Heavenly Eye, swear in my Dao to give the golden dragon I just made a verbal deal with in the Blessed Heaven World a divine crystal if he can kill one avatar of the Cosmic Dao or two avatars with a Grand Dao belonging to Black Chains, the Dao Lord of Four Directions Sect of the Sea of Worlds."

"I also swear to deliver my promise as soon as he kills the avatars and make sure that the divine crystal is enough for him to use for a thousand years. If I do not do this, may my Dao in the path of the seer end."

Loki looked around him, looking for the source of the sound. He also looked up at the sky to make sure that a rift hadn’t appeared silently above him.

He didn’t see the source of the sound, though. But he knew it came from Heavenly Eye. It was a weird feeling that left him feeling bewildered.

After looking around all to no avail, he turned to Monarch Truth and False and said, "Did you hear that?"

Monarch Truth and False looked at him in confusion and said, "Heard what?"

Loki stared at him for a while, trying to see if the seer was lying. When he couldn’t tell, he snorted and ignored the seer.

Instead, he looked around again, while thinking, ’If everyone heard her oath, the Dao Lords must know that something significant has happened in the Blessed Heaven World. They should be appearing any moment soon."

A second later, no rift appeared in the sky. Two seconds later, there still were no rifts.

After a whopping five seconds of waiting, the sky was still clear of rifts and inquisitive eyes of powerful beings looking down at him.

This made him shrug and say, ’Either they don’t care about her oath and what it means, or they can’t open rifts to look for the meantime, or they didn’t hear her oath. All in all, it’s good for me.’

While he was waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop, Monarch Truth and False had determined that his job was done and had taken his leave. The poor rank 8 "servant", as Heavenly Eye had called him, was dry running away as if he was fleeing for his life.

The sight amused Loki, who laughed as he thought, ’Look at him go. The last time I saw him run this fast was that time he ran away from me when I tried to kill him.’

Then he said solemnly, "Anyway, I have work to do and time waits for no man."

He was trying to be serious and take his job seriously, but he still chuckled and thought to himself, ’Time doesn’t wait for anyone, but it will wait for me.’

As he chuckled, his figure streaked through the third dimension.
