THE GOD EATER

Chapter 978: No Limits.

Chapter 978: No Limits.

His voice was tainted with expectation as he said, "And how can I break the limits?"

Hearing his questions, Golden Sun solemnly and without a hint of playfulness said, "I don’t know why Supreme Metacs have a limit, and I don’t think it is possible to break the limit of a Supreme Metac."

"A Supreme Metac can be created initially stunted. But it can be grown later to fill up its potential size. However, the limit is something hard-coded by the universe. It is just that way."

"At least, that rule remains unbreakable at the rank of a Dao Lord. Maybe we can break it if we advance beyond that level. Who knows?"

Loki was immensely disappointed to hear this, but he still summoned some hope to say, "Is there a way to create a limitless Supreme Metac?"

As soon as he heard the question, Golden Sun’s seriousness melted away, and he began laughing. What was worse was that the Dao Lords in the sky also joined him in laughter.

Martial Will was laughing with his full strength. He guffawed and laughed so loudly that the sky began to shake in resistance.

The other Dao Lords were not so boisterous in their laughter, though. Some of them, like Tepid Scholar, simply chuckled in amusement. And some of them, mainly Black Chains, didn’t laugh at all.

While chuckling, Tepid Scholar said, "You know what, maybe you’re right and there is a Limitless Dao. The fact that we don’t know about it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. After all, we think Cosmic Dao is the limit because it is the limit of what we’ve encountered."

"However, I still think it is impossible for a Limitless Dao to exist.

My assertion is based on the fact that the Time Dao, which you’re currently using, is not a Limitless Dao. If the Time Dao, a cornerstone of the whole of existence, is not limitless, what can be limitless? I simply can’t fathom it in my wildest imagination."

Coughing slightly, "Actually, I think that it is highly probable that there is something beyond the Cosmic Dao. But whatever it is can’t be limitless."

"I believe that whatever the next level of quality of pathways is, it has to be bound with a fixed size. So it could be 10,10,1, 11,11,1, 12,12,1, and so on and so forth. I am willing to concede to that possibility, but I absolutely refuse to believe in a limitless Dao."

Then he smiled and said, "I actually have a lot to say about the possibility of a Limitless Dao. Like, what do you mean by limitless? Do you mean limitless in the x-axis or limitless in both the x-axis and y-axis, or even limitless in all three axes?"

"See? I have a lot of questions and a lot more to say. But let me stop here so as not to delay you. If you want to have a deeper conversation on the matter, I am available after this."

Loki, despite being suspicious of the goodwill that Tepid Scholar was showing to him, still said, "Thank you for the information. It has deepened my knowledge of Supreme Metacs."

In response, Tepid Scholar nodded and said, "I’m glad."

Loki, thinking to himself, "What is he up to?" gave Tepid Scholar one last suspicious look.

Then he asked Golden Sun, "I want to confirm something. How do I become a Dao Lord?"

Golden Sun groaned, saying, "So many questions!"

Loki’s many questions had tired him out. As a remnant of the original Golden Sun, he can’t actually live forever.

Even if he has an infinite lifespan, he will still die because every action and thought of his causes his will to dissipate. He is not a living person and doesn’t have a sustainable foundation for existing. This is why he mostly sleeps and remains inactive so that he can continue to exist.

If he runs out of will, he will dissipate and die forever with no chance of reincarnation. So even though Loki isn’t fighting him or trying to kill him right now, he is still in danger of dying.

Despite this risk, he still answered the question. Not only did he answer it, but he also answered it completely without holding back on any information. After all, he agreed to this when he made Loki swear the oath.

Saying to himself, ’This is not for you. It is for another version of you. So you can lose this round, but that version can win the next round.’

After encouraging himself, he began explaining the process of advancing to rank 10. He explained everything in depth in ways that Heavenly Eye hadn’t bothered with.

For example, he explained exactly how to increase the mass-to-energy conversion ratio by saying, "The process is basically done by splitting the divine crystal down to the smallest level that you can manage. The deeper you go, the higher the efficiency of the mass-to-energy conversion."

"Not only must you do this to the lowest level, but you must also find a way to perform the splitting at scale. I mean, you must be able to split the divine crystal at a large enough scale so that the raw power output will be high enough."

"The more splitting you do per second, the higher your power output. Even if your efficiency is not enough, as long as your power output is large enough to maintain the star, the advancement will be successful."

"In my situation, I increased the scale of splitting by causing one splitting that I initiated to initiate many more splittings in the divine crystal. Then I made the secondary initiated splittings initiate even more splittings in the divine crystal."

"Like reproduction, each generation of splitting initiated another generation of splitting that was far larger than the previous generation. This created an avalanche of splittings that ensured that the power output of the divine crystal was increasing with time. After a while, the process became unstoppable."
