"Ptooey!" At this time, spitting out a mouthful of blood together with a few of his teeth, an enraged Blaze walked over toward Virus and Aily while uttering with a bloodshot glare, "Damn it, Vee! Why would you hit your friend over a thot like her that is destined to become everyone's plaything?!"

In response to him, however, a hell-freezing glimmer of brilliance emitted from Virus' eyes as he directed it all at Blaze.

'A thot? Despite her being trapped in a brothel, someone like Aily is not a thot. The truest example of a thot I can think of right now is no one but Pira, that old cuckold's wife.' Though that line popped into his head, outwardly, Virus' focus was on Blaze. "You are an irredeemable bastard indeed."

"Everyone was correct, but not completely… they assumed you to be a drunkard and a dreg, but you're also a pathetic degenerate who has lost the ability of sound judgment."

"Anyway, I appreciate you for so generously motivating me to end you quicker. Now… die!" The instant Virus arrived at the last part of his sentence, he locked all of his current killing intent on Blaze's figure.

As a monstrous murderous intent surrounded him, Blaze was fully immobilized as an ugly countenance pushed on his previously wrathful profile.

'How is this possible? How can a random guy in the Liberation stage alone suppress someone like me, someone who is clearly in the Sublimity Emergence stage!?!' No matter how hard Blaze deliberated the reality in front of him, he could not conclude a sensible cause.

On the other hand, with no regard for his prey's dumbfounded state, Virus casually strolled at him while maintaining an expressionless feature.

Meanwhile, as time refused to halt for Blaze's sake, his struggling face went paler and paler until he could no longer continue putting on his fearless profile.

Instead, with his tone turning much friendlier all of a sudden, he attempted to persuade this horrifying predator he had previously mistaken as an inferior who was nothing but a tool for his entertainment. "Come on, Vee, aren't we close friends? You know I was only doing it for your sake, right? I was just trying to help you, I swear on my father's life!"

Alas, not only was Blaze's words unable to reach him, but it seemed to make it worse as a sword materialized in Virus' grasp.

Discerning the appearance of the additional sword, a shiver went down Blaze's spine who changed his strategy. "Stop, Vee! You know I'm from the Poison Deity clan, right? In case you kill me, the whole city will be after your head! You will be beheaded before you even take a single step outside of this alley!"

In reaction, halting at last, Virus observed his prey silently. However, it was unknown whether he doing that due to the triumphant effect of his threats or because he was already right in front of him.

Regardless, Blaze's mind chose to be optimistic and decided to believe the former. Thus, grinning jovially, he encouraged Virus further, "Good choice, buddy. You've made the right choice, our friendship is worth much more than that worthless bitch over ther-"

'Fountain Arrow Cut!'

Without any warnings, an arrow-like attack headed in Blaze's way, directly penetrating through his left eye.

Virus adjusted the force and the reach of his strike in a way so it would be just enough to blind him without damaging the brain.

"Arrrghhhhhh!" Screeching in utter agony, a piercing cry resounded in the god-forsaken alleyway.

"Those eyes… they have sinned." An emotionless yet cold tone filled the darkness of the backstreet, sending the intended audience the mirage of the unavoidable punishment.

"They saw something they should not have." Paying no heed to the tragic wails, the predator sliced through the victim's other eyeball as well.

"AHHHHH! Stoooop! P-Please, Vee, why are you doing this to me!?" With both of his messed-up eyesockets crying blood, a blind Blaze looked back at the darkness in front of him that was Virus.

By the side, at the mere sight of those dreadful hollow eyes, a quiver of uncontrollable terror overwhelmed Aily.

"As I said… those eyes have sinned. Do not try to evade the punishment, my friend. When the punishment is over, your pain shall end and we will go back to being friends again."

Then, locking his gaze on Blaze's hands that had ripped apart Aily's clothes earlier, he declared again. "Those hands. They have sinned."

Aiming two Fountain Bow Cuts at both of Blaze's arms, both of his limbs were detached at once as the screams became even more shrill and filled with unimaginable agony.

Nevertheless, giving the tormented no time to relax, latching his sight at the legs that had led Aily to the alley, he announced their fate next, "Sinners!"

The feet fell on the floor followed by a massive puddle of blood.

After that, targeting his groin, Virus was adamant. "That disgusting thing of yours… I've got no idea how much it has sinned in your life. But for tonight, its crime is to cloud your sense of judgment."

As his little brother was cut off, Virus was now witnessing a helpless torso with no limbs, already on the verge of death.

And yet, refusing to permit Blaze to take the final breath on his own, Virus joined his pupils at the beating heart and declared the verdict of guilty, "Your heart… is there even a heart in there, I wonder?"

"Well, let's see for ourselves, shall we?" With that announcement of retribution, the metal of darkness vanished.

Splitting his heart into two segments, Virus volunteered to halt the heart before it could stop naturally. Then, sitting beside the corpse, Virus leered at the prey's chest before exclaiming in surprise, "Oh! There was a heart in there after all… a slothful heart that refused to intervene and stop the transgressions, what a sin!"
