The God Virus

Chapter 529: Right?

Chapter 529: Right?

"Well, I'm back now. Anyway, I'm on my way to the Inner Market right now, you can follow me if you want to." Scrutinizing several likely scenarios he could benefit from this relationship with Blaze's servant, Virus suggested.

"With pleasure, young master!" Smiling happily, the teenager asked in exhilaration, "You're truly back, right? Right?"

Afterward, while on the way to the inner market, through a casual conversation with the young boy, Virus came to learn more about the identity of this servant of the late Blaze whose name was Arsalan.

Conversing more, Virus was surprised to learn that apparently, the late Blaze actually cared about this servant of his very much, to the point he had dismissed the boy so he would not be dragged into his bullying and suffering as well.

Albeit, gazing at the bruises all over Arsalan's face and body, that strategy didn't seem to work.

'Well, I suppose there is no such a thing as pure evil or pure good, or at least the term doesn't apply to Blaze.' Contemplating up to that point, there was a faraway look in Virus' eyes, 'Though he was indeed evil to Aily, when it comes to Arsalan, Blaze seems to have held a soft spot in his heart for the boy. Evil to one, kind to another, that's how I define him.'

Additionally, through a simple inspection of their conversation and the teenager's sincere attitude toward him, Virus understood Arasalan was a trustworthy aid of Blaze.

"Who did that to your face?" Pointing at the bruises all over his profile, furrowing his brows, Virus interrogated.

"Ah, it's nothing, I just fell off the stairs." However, scratching his head while smiling like an idiot, Arsalan tried lying to him.

To be frank, Arsalan was aware of the fact that Blaze was being bullied in the clan. But unfortunately, there was nothing he could do to prevent that or bear the pain in his stead.

Still, what he could do was to at least not bring any more unnecessary trouble on top of what Blaze was going through at the moment.

Thus, he simply decided to change the subject. "But, young master, will you be really okay by staying here? Let's just leave Inner Ricando together, okay? I'll come with you this time." Concerned about his young master suffering more, Arsalan suggested while gritting his teeth.

One of the things he hated the most was to see him tormented by those bastards who always played around with his young master.

"Don't try to change the subject, tell me what's up, or else… I won't let you follow me anymore." Albeit, easily seeing through his childish attempt at changing the topic, Virus insisted.

"Ah, young master…" Wide-eyed at the threat of no longer being permitted to accompany him, Arsalan was shaken to the core.

Thus, it didn't take long before he decided to reveal the situation. "Actually, it's not what you think, young master. As you know, since I'm still a servant of the Deity Chief Office that's been merely provided and lent to you, other than attending to your needs, I'm also required to serve the Deity Chief Office like usual."

Pressing his lips against each other, Arsalan confessed. "You see, these bruises over my face exist because I made a mistake when I was doing some chores for the office house… so, the household mistress punished me for it."

"Household mistress?" Obviously, Virus didn't know who Arsalan was talking about. However, he felt there was more to the story than meets the eye. Sadly, he couldn't get behind the matter just yet.

"Yes, the household mistress… why are you acting so confused today, young master?"

That doubt of Arsalan had just been spoken out loud when Virus realized they had reached the shore of the river with a bridge close by.

"We're here… we'll talk later, let's go to the market for now." Stepping on the bridge that led to the inner market floating in the middle of the wide river, Virus changed the topic temporarily.

Next, as they put their first step on it, Virus spotted hundreds of floating shops chained to one another. There was a walking path beside all of them for commuting as well.

As a matter of fact, by now, Virus had long figured out the reason why most of the significant facilities such as the Clan Storage and this Inner Market had been constructed over the river itself was that the river span was like a free territory that belonged to neither the Poison nor the Deity faction.

Apparently, neither faction was willing to let the important facilities be monopolized on the territory of one of them alone.

Anyway, while walking on the path, Virus came across a variety of shops imaginable to the mind. Food, tools, pills, weapons, equipment, etc. As long as one looked hard enough, anything an individual may require was most likely to exist here.

With that in mind, as Virus was busy window-shopping, a particular store called Mill Wordsmith caught his attention. The main eye-catching detail about the shop was the peculiar emptiness that covered the whole shop as there wasn't a single item put on display. Rather, only a middle-aged man was sitting on a chair awaiting any new customers.

Nonetheless, with a special goal in mind, Virus walked over to the middle-aged man and opened his mouth.

"Hello there… I have a question for you."

"Hello, welcome to Mill Wordsmith, what can I do for you, dear customer?" Standing up, the man beamed a professional grin at the two newcomers while offering his services.

"Ah, I'm looking for a Forgotten Pen, do you perhaps know where I can procure or buy one?" Stating the purpose of his visit, Virus awaited the response.

"A Forgotten Pen?" Rubbing his beard, the middle-aged man deliberated for several seconds before responding, "You've come to the right place, I can get you one for about five thousand Qi Ingots."

"Really?" Hearing the very first shop he stopped at could possibly obtain the item coerced a raise in Virus' brows.
