Chapter 1198: One Of Wilderness Region’s Great Lords [5].
“We just need to watch out for the lightning Golem when Alec attacks, and we’ll be fine,” David said. But as he spoke, he noticed the sudden silence of the three people in front of him.
Looking up to see what had left them so completely awestruck, his eyes traveled past towards where the Hive Queen was floating in space.
That’s when he saw the same golem he had just told them not to worry too much about, summoning fifteen captain-rank golems, as they came out from rune like portals behind her, all deployed in distinct groups of five.
To one side stood the attack-type Arachne, possessing human upper bodies and spider lower halves, clad in protective armor and wielding metallic weapons.
Even beneath their gear, their physical builds appeared flawless—perfectly proportioned, muscular, and exceptionally robust.
Among them were two females, while human biology typically dictated that women were physically weaker than men, the Tudors looking at these female attack-type Arachne could tell without a doubt that they were easily twenty percent stronger than their male counterparts.
Yet that was only the beginning, on the opposite side stood the defense-type Arachne, possessing massive, bulging frames that dwarfed the attack types.
Each one held an enormous shield, while the final group appeared noticeably leaner and more slender, their upper limbs resembling their metallic spider legs in form.
These were the Scout-type Arachne, who also served as the group’s support; however, to their enemies, they were known by a far more lethal title: the assassin Arachne.
Not only were they highly proficient in web manipulation, possessing superior flexibility and speed, but their mastery of executing swift, efficient, and lethal moves made them some of the most dangerous children of the hive queen .
Although the Hive Queen possessed significantly more powerful variants of offspring, her recent absence from active combat prompted her to keep these Scouts type Arachne deployed for intelligence gathering.
Jake was currently leveraging this exact information network of hers to identify the surrounding Kingdoms and their respective lords, ensuring he would immediately know where to retaliate if his domain was attacked by one.
The Scout type Arachne had thoroughly traversed the vast expanse of the wilderness region, creating a detailed map for Alec that included the various emblems of each region.
This map was the sole reason Jake had been able to pinpoint the twins’ location so rapidly, even when they had attacked secretly and believed that no trace would be drawn back to them.
Meanwhile, Butcher’s detachment of captain-rank golems was lesser in comparison to the Hive Queen’s own, but they made a spectacular entrance crackling with bursts of lightning.
Due to their partially electric compositions, they strongly resembled a gathering of lightning elementals, however they were storm elementals instead, able to manipulate not just lightning but wind elements as well.
Seeing this set, they instantly realized it wasn’t a simple four-on-two fight against Alec and his Wyvern, or even a four-on-three-and-a-half struggle.
They were up against Alec, his personal golems, and an entire army of additional Golems that his main golems just summoned effortlessly.
Although these new summons were merely Tier 6 golems that shouldn’t normally rattle Tier 8 mages, however; the mystery surrounding the true depth of Alec’s power made the situation feel like it was spiraling completely out of their control, they now understood that Alec had never been trapped in a standoff with them.
He and his golems were merely getting ready, looking back at Alec, they saw swirling red hue type tattoos covering his skin as the faint outline of a certified Tier 6 Spirit Equipment set began to manifest around him.
Before long, the aura Alec radiated grew immensely dangerous. Fully cloaked in the Infernal Mantle set, Alec just thrust his right hand forward the moment his equipment had fully covered him and said a single word: "Attack!"
Unlike the waiting Tudors, he had no desire to waste time sizing up his enemies, ever since seeing the passive abilities of his spirit equipment set, especially his new chest armor, his confidence and bravery had reached entirely new heights.
Following Alec’s command, Butcher was the first to charge forward, with his elemental following closely behind him in their crackling lightning forms.
Meanwhile, the Hive Queen began murmuring instructions to her offspring; rather than launching a direct assault like Butcher and his golems, they scattered to assume strategic positions away from the mages, seemingly establishing a tactical trap formation array.
Observing these initial movements from the golems leaders, David immediately realized that they were attempting to separate and isolate them from each other.
Although the precise motive of this move was still unknown to him, however; he was certain that playing into their hands would spell disaster for their side.
Yet, while David possessed a calm and calculating demeanor, his brother was far more reckless.
“I’ll make quick work of this golem and its group,” Dave declared.
“Had they stayed together, breaking their deadlock would have been a grueling task.”
“But with this maneuver of theirs, I can easily dismantle that lightning golem and send it to an early grave. Rhen, Flint, stay close to David while I move out.” By the time his statement was finished, Dave had already surged forward, intent on clashing with Butcher in the center of the battlefield.
“Wait...” David tried to call out, but his warning came too late.
While Butcher, who had been moving at an immense speed, realized David had broken away from his group and immediately began spinning his lightning axe in a rapid circular motion.
The weapon crackled, surging with an even more intense charge of electrical energy.
It sparked so violently that it seemed as if it would detonate right in his face if he lost control of the volatile current. Three seconds later, he hurled it forward as if launching a projectile.
Yet, just as the axe tore away about to fly out, his right hand clamped firmly onto the very end of its handle, as a deafening sonic boom reverberated across the area from the incredible speed of the weapon was flying, while also dragging Butcher along right behind it.
In less than a second and a half, Butcher and his axe appeared directly in front of Dave. Unwilling to risk taking the immense momentum of that weapon head-on, Dave crossed both swords before him to brace for the impact while he cast a defensive magic spell.
