The Imperial Marshal awoke amid the sensation of floating in a warm ocean, and the very first thing he did after opening his eyes was to call out for the Annihilator.
Accompanied by the sound of air sacs venting, the lid of the hibernation pod above his head slowly opened.
A gentle AI voice sounded: “The medical bay is at your service. You have been in hibernation for a total of one thousand two hundred and twenty-one days. Welcome back to consciousness. A full-body examination will now be conducted.”
He lay perfectly still inside the hibernation pod, allowing waves of red light to sweep over his body as they scanned him again and again.
The AI said, “Examination complete. Your vital signs are normal. Comprehensive evaluation: excellent. As expected of the Empire’s strongest marshal! Wonderful work!”
This was the voice and program that the Annihilator had set for itself, yet the Imperial Marshal knew very well that it did not possess the consciousness of the Annihilator.
The consciousness of the Annihilator might have remained forever within the warship that was swallowed by a black hole.
The rumors were true: in the beginning, the Annihilator really had been a nanny robot, one that accompanied him through his entire lonely and heavily bullied childhood, and after he modified and built his own warship, he retained the nanny robot’s core intelligence.
That was how the Annihilator later came to be.
And the Annihilator seemed, through repeated modifications and program updates, to have awakened its own consciousness.
“Baby, today is another day to eat your meals obediently!”
A cute, overly sweet AI voice echoed within the medical bay.
This, too, was one of the programs set after the Annihilator awakened its consciousness.
……
The Annihilator was unimaginably massive, and its medical bay was correspondingly enormous as well, so much so that simply walking through every corner of it at a leisurely pace would take at least an hour.
Of course, the Imperial Marshal was not that idle.
While eating his dinner, he had the medical bay’s equipment connect to the data of this planet.
This planet, called Earth, was currently at a Level One civilization stage, having yet to develop the energy of the other planets within its own star system, and the lifeforms on Earth possessed extremely low energy levels, with lifespans of no more than a mere hundred years, such that after death they could hardly provide any meaningful feedback to the habitable zone.
The K93 Star System also contained all manner of lifeforms, and they likewise referred to beings like themselves as humans, the difference being that the lifeforms of K93 had extremely long lifespans and extraordinarily high energy levels, and upon death their bodies would disintegrate, with the energy they contained feeding back into the entire star system.
After learning more information about Earth, he roughly compared the differences between himself and Earth’s people and concluded that he was probably equivalent to an adolescent by Earth’s standards.
Humans did not grow while inside a hibernation pod, and if that period of time was excluded, he was actually forty years old, yet in the long-lived K93 star system, anyone under thirty-five was still considered a child.
When he had gone to the Imperial Capital to enlist back then, he would never have made it in had he not lied about his age.
He learned a bit more about Earth’s people, and afterward began to check the medical bay’s reserve status.
The AI reported in an orderly fashion, and when it read out “hibernation pod operating normally,” he froze for a moment.
He had already come out, so why was a hibernation pod still running?
“Which hibernation pod?” He asked.
The AI replied, “Hibernation Pod Number Two.”
The Imperial Marshal opened the second hibernation pod and saw a small infant inside, only then remembering that in the days just before he left the K93 star system, he had passed by a supply planet that had been raided by star pirates, where he had picked up a child on the brink of death.
That infant had been far too weak and had remained lying inside a treatment pod the entire time.
When the Annihilator met with disaster, the treatment pod automatically entered hibernation mode, becoming the second hibernation pod.
The AI said, “Vital signs are weak. Would you like to switch to treatment pod mode and continue treatment?”
The Imperial Marshal looked at the sleeping infant, who might be the only remaining companion from the K93 star system.
“Switch it.”
He said.
……
The medical bay was situated atop a range of mountains, and because it was concealed within another layer of space, the people here could not see it.
The Imperial Marshal walked out of the medical bay, intending to head down the mountain for a stroll.
Who would have thought that the gravity here was different from that of the K93 Star System, causing him to stumble and fall straight to the ground.
It had been a long time since the Imperial Marshal had found himself in such an awkward state, and just as he struggled against the gravity to get back up, the sound of an argument came from not far away.
He had already learned the language of this region and could understand what they were arguing about.
It was a young man and a young woman.
The woman, her belly swollen with pregnancy, grabbed the man’s arm and said through clenched teeth, “You must explain everything clearly to me today. What exactly is going on between you and that woman!”
The man coldly yanked his arm free and said impatiently, “Can you stop making a scene?”
The woman flew into a rage and raised her phone. “I’m making a scene? Surnamed Gu, you bastard! I caught you red-handed!”
The man glanced at the photo on the phone and frowned. “When did you secretly take this?”
The woman said coldly, “Do I even need to sneak photos? The two of you were completely open about it! You’re only one step away from moving in together!”
The man said bluntly, “Stop talking nonsense. She and I are not the kind of relationship you’re imagining. We’re just colleagues who had a meal together, so stop being suspicious of everything. It’s getting late, I need to go back to the company. You can take a taxi home yourself!”
After saying this, he abandoned the woman and walked toward the mountaintop.
Presumably, the parking lot was on the other side of the summit.
Furious, the woman chased after him. “Surnamed Gu, you scoundrel! I’m pregnant, and you’re planning to leave me here alone!”
The two of them were pulling and tugging at each other in an unsightly mess, and as they brushed past the Imperial Marshal, the woman accidentally bumped into him.
Because he had not yet adapted to Earth’s gravity, the Imperial Marshal failed to avoid her.
The ring on the woman’s finger scratched the back of his hand, and bright red blood immediately flowed out.
The woman did not offer a single word of apology.
He looked at the bloodstain on her ring and said in the local language, “Give me the ring.”
“Get lost! Just because I bumped into you, you think I owe you a ring? Keep dreaming! Where did this little punk come fr——” The woman snapped furiously, intending to say “where did this little punk come from,” but when her eyes met the excessively handsome face of the young man, she suddenly choked on her words.
The youth was tall and slender, dressed in a perfectly neat black uniform, his entire bearing exuding an air of restraint and rigor that felt almost ascetic.
The woman froze for a moment.
At that very moment, the man had already walked far away.
With no time to bother with this youth in what looked like a military uniform, the woman hurriedly chased after the man.
Watching her retreating figure, the Imperial Marshal frowned deeply and said, “You’d better not get hurt…”
Unfortunately, during the struggle in which she tried to stop the man from getting into the car, the woman was indeed injured.
Two months later, a fair and chubby baby girl was born, crying loudly as she came into the world, more beautiful than most newborns.
Her family gave her a pleasant-sounding name——Gu Jiao.

Summary:
Xuan Zhi transmigrated into a world where the cultivation of “Supernatural Talismans” was a central practice. In this world, Talisman Masters could use talismans to summon gods, exorcise ghosts, command demons, and control the five elements, making this profession universally acknowledged as the No.1 most promising career in the cultivation world.
When she arrived, she was dressed in red bridal clothes, sitting in a bridal carriage, holding her ancestral “Celestial Talisman,” and preparing to form a marriage alliance with the Yun Clan of Eastern Zhou.
According to the original plot, after marrying into the Yun family, she would be restrained and effectively placed under house arrest in the name of the “three obediences and four virtues,” her husband would change from the Second Young Master Yun on the marriage contract to the abusive Third Young Master Yun, and she would eventually be tormented to death.
Meanwhile, the Yun family would seize her “Celestial Talisman,” summon wind and rain with it, and leap to become the number one great clan in Eastern Zhou.
Xuan Zhi: “Wouldn’t it be better for me to summon gods myself? Why should I give good things to others?”
***
Xuan Zhi: “Great Sage, I’ve been your fan since I was little!”
The “Celestial Talisman” rumbled, releasing a swirling cloud that carried her one hundred and eight thousand li before she plummeted headfirst straight into the main villain's bath.
Xuan Zhi: “I beseech True Lord Erlang to save my life!!”
The next moment, a dog paw suddenly struck her face, barking fiercely as it tore apart every malevolent spirit and sinister creature that surrounded her.
Xuan Zhi: “I may not be able to summon the great gods themselves, but I can summon their little pets and treasures.” (Forced smile.jpg)
Other characters in the book: “Just what kind of gods is she summoning?!!”
Xuan Zhi: “Sorry, my mythology runs on different lore.”
***
One day, Xuan Zhi finally summoned a god everyone recognized.
The Northern Abyss Ghost Emperor emerged amid countless evil spirit followers, clad in a black flame-edged robe with dancing sashes, his dark red eyes radiating a commanding, kingly aura, so imposing it seemed he was a different person from the one chased and bitten by a dog naked that day.
He held a divorce letter in his hand and sneered. “Part ways amicably, and live our own lives in peace?”
His sinister gaze locked onto Xuan Zhi. She snatched the letter, tore it to pieces, then shyly threw herself into his arms and squeezed out tears. “Boohoo, you devil, why did you come so late? Look, they all bullied me!”
Shentu Tao: “……”
Everyone she pointed at backed away in panic. “Good heavens, who is bullying who?!”

Summary:
In the suspenseful supernatural novel “Records of Mortals,” Jiang Baiyan, once a solitary and impoverished youth, finds refuge in the Shi family of Chang’an due to his extraordinary bloodline. With his clear and captivating peach blossom eyes, this seemingly innocent young man conceals a fanatical and malevolent lunatic within. Destined to succumb to darkness amidst hardship and degradation, he becomes a harbinger of chaos.
When Shi Dai suddenly transmigrates, she takes on the role of the Shi family’s young lady, the one who subjects him to countless trials, eventually leading to her demise.
The twist? She never got to finish reading the novel.
From what she knew of the plot, Jiang Baiyan was just a silent, timid, and often bullied pitiable character.
***
Jiang Baiyan had never encountered someone like Shi Dai.
After he had slaughtered all the evil creatures in the garden, the blood-stained young man, exuding a murderous aura, approached her step by step, his lips curling into a malicious smile, "Scared?"
Shi Dai responded, “You’re really amazing! I applaud you until I spin like a spiral and fly around the moon three hundred times! And also——you have dimples when you smile!"
Jiang Baiyan: ...?
—
After seeing her at a lantern festival with another man, Jiang Baiyan lowered his eyes, his fingers twirling her hair. He said in a mocking and sinister tone, "The mansion in the western suburbs...if I hide you there, no one will find you, right?"
Shi Dai replied, "Does it come with meals and lodging? Can I sleep in everyday? Oh, and your cooking is the best!"
Jiang Baiyan: ...?
—
Jiang Baiyan was supposed to dislike her, even hate her, but as their separation drew near, his eyes turned red and he grabbed her sleeve, pleading, "Don't abandon me, alri—”
Shi Dai responded, "Alright, alright, I’ll only have you. Mwah."
Jiang Baiyan: ...?
He hasn't finished his lines yet though…
