The K93 Star System.

In the vast and boundless universe, a silver-white spacecraft was nimbly weaving its way through a dark red asteroid belt.

Celestial bodies that appeared minuscule through astronomical telescopes were in reality unimaginably enormous, and each of them followed its own orbital trajectory, so when combined with the spacecraft’s own faster-than-light movement, the scene resembled an extremely perilous game of dodging obstacles.

But this posed no real challenge to it.

After all, it was no ordinary spacecraft, but the strongest battleship of the Imperial Marshal.

It had accompanied the Imperial Marshal through long and glorious years of conquest, carving out peak combat records that stood at the very summit of the entire star system and even the whole Federation.

There were countless rumors about it: some said it was a battleship custom-made at great expense by the Imperial Marshal himself, while others claimed it was a secret weapon left to him by his grandfather.

There were even rumors that it had originally been nothing more than a nanny-type robot, the kind that had once mixed milk formula and changed diapers for the little marshal.

A cute AI voice rang out, seemingly tinged with a tiny bit of excitement: “Obstacle cannot be avoided, initiating elimination protocol, do you wish to stop it?”

The man reclining against the chair back with his eyes closed did not even lift his eyelids.

The AI’s voice grew even more excited: “Elimination protocol officially activated! Friendly reminder——”

Before it could finish speaking, the man on the chair back casually raised one hand, long and elegant even through the white glove covering it, and with a click fastened the safety lock on the chair.

The AI emitted a mechanical sound filled with the gratified satisfaction of an old father: “Good baby.”

The man’s thin lips parted slightly as he said, “Call me that again and I’ll smash you.”

Whether or not it felt threatened, the AI indeed fell silent, yet unwilling to give up entirely, it flashed a line of text on the screen as though to display its last shred of defiant will: “You can’t smash me.”

The man kept his eyes closed, but as if he had guessed its little trick, he said flatly, “Cancel autopilot.”

The AI instantly caved: “The Marshal is amazing!”

After that, it focused its full attention on eliminating the asteroids that could not be avoided.

Under normal circumstances, Federation warships would not casually destroy celestial bodies in space, but with this mission being urgent, there was no time to care about Federation law.

At the same time, on an orange-colored planet, a full thirty warships stood poised and ready.

This was a newly risen group of star pirates within the system, most of them desperate criminals who had escaped from prison, and they had already successfully looted ten Federation space supply stations as well as two Imperial supply planets.

The Federation regarded this with the utmost seriousness and had previously dispatched legions to suppress them, but among the pirates were traitors from the Federation itself, people intimately familiar with Federation warships and combat tactics, who refused to engage head-on, firing a shot and immediately fleeing, making them exceptionally cunning.

The Federation was driven nearly to despair by them.

Recently, they had set their sights on a supply planet controlled by the Weir Family and were planning to carry out an operation against it tonight.

However, before they even had the chance to depart, a completely black spacecraft suddenly arrived in the murky, endless night sky above them, slowing down once it entered the planet’s atmosphere and steadily hovering over the thirty warships.

The first to notice it was a sentry holding a firearm, who initially thought it was one of their own, until he realized it was not, because emblazoned on the underside of the black battleship was a massive Federation military emblem.

“It’s a Federation warship!”

He reacted as though facing a great enemy.

Everyone immediately went on alert, while at the same time feeling utterly incredulous.

Where was their defense system? Had it failed? Why had there been neither interception nor warning, allowing this warship to break in as if entering an empty land?

The star pirate leader issued a combat-readiness order, “How many warships are there in total?”

The pilot beside him stared blankly and replied, “O-one ship!”

“One ship? The Federation only sent a single warship?” The star pirate leader was completely stunned, because even when the Federation had dispatched forces equal in number to theirs, they had failed to wipe them out, so could it be that… the Federation was not here to fight them, but to negotiate peace?

At this thought, he laughed smugly. “Then there’s nothing to be afraid of, destroy it!”

Negotiate peace?

That did not exist.

He issued the command, yet waited in vain for any response from the other warships, and he frowned. “What’s going on?”

The pilot pointed toward the warship in the sky in terror. “Y-you should look.”

The battleship in the sky began to light up in vast swathes, its black exterior resembling scales being turned over, layer by layer revealing dazzling silver radiance.

As this transformation unfolded, its immense body was fully revealed before everyone’s eyes.

The star pirate leader felt his entire body jolt. “Th…this is——”

The number one battleship of the entire star system that had accompanied the Imperial Marshal in conquering the whole Federation——the Annihilator.

Within the wide observation window of the battleship, a man dressed in a black uniform looked down upon everyone from above.

He was the most handsome man in the entire Empire, and also the most brutal and cold-blooded one.

Tall and slender, his uniform fit him with impeccable precision, every button fastened all the way to the very top of the collar, austere and abstinent to the extreme.

Under the cold light, his skin carried a deathlike pallor.

In his hands, he lightly held a golden Imperial Star scepter, a symbol of status and also a signal of death.

The Imperial Marshal was not here to negotiate; he was here to suppress the pirates.

The kind that left no survivors.

The star pirate leader, who had been smug only a moment earlier, was now completely panicked.

Wasn’t it said that the Imperial Marshal had gone on a distant expedition to the K34B star system and wouldn’t be back for decades, so how could he have returned so quickly——

If the Imperial Marshal had not left, they would never have dared, even with a hundred times the courage, to raid Federation supply planets and space stations!

“What do we do… what do we do…” Cold sweat poured down the star pirate leader’s face.

Not just him, all the other star pirates were equally terrified out of their wits.

This youngest general in the Empire was the only marshal in the system who had single-handedly cowed the entire Federation, born into a fallen noble family and possessing the most meager resources, yet he had carved out a bloody path through the Federation by sheer force.

No one dared contend with his edge.

“Run! Hurry, run!”

No one knew who shouted this first, but it snapped everyone out of their daze, and they scrambled onto their warships one after another, preparing to flee.

The Imperial Marshal coldly watched the star pirates who had slaughtered countless civilians, as if observing a swarm of ants scrambling in blind panic.

“The Annihilator requests authorization to execute orders.” The AI’s mechanical voice turned cold and domineering.

The Imperial Marshal enunciated each word clearly, “Elimination protocol, execute.”

The AI’s mechanical voice rang out once more.

“Elimination protocol about to begin, civilians please evacuate.”

“Elimination protocol about to begin, civilians please evacuate.”

“Elimination protocol about to begin, civilians please evacuate.”

“Countdown initiated.”

Across the boundless starry sky appeared a line of glowing numbers, a two-minute countdown.

The star pirates moved with astonishing speed, and in just one minute they had already piloted their respective warships away.

Under faster-than-light travel, one minute was enough to flee past several planets.

Even after there were no warships left on the ground, the countdown in the night sky continued.

When the final second ticked down to zero, the Annihilator launched its pursuit of the fleeing warships.

……

Thirty seconds later, the universe returned to silence.

Inside the cockpit, the Annihilator’s AI reverted to its cute mechanical tone. “Baby boy, it’s time to eat, today’s dinner is very sumptuous.”

But in the end, the Imperial Marshal never got to eat that meal, because on their return journey they encountered a stellar collapse.

This massive star had been collapsing for a long time and had remained relatively stable, with estimates that it would continue burning for at least another hundred thousand years, yet for reasons unknown it prematurely exhausted its fuel, and in its final few seconds suddenly collapsed into a black hole.

The Annihilator was caught by the black hole’s gravitational pull.

Alarms that had never once sounded before blared throughout the cockpit.

There was no way back, to the K93 star system.

The Imperial Marshal calmly and serenely faced his own death.

He had fought across countless battlefields, and one day he was always destined to die upon the road of conquest.

He gently stroked the control console and said softly, “Annihilator, your service ends here, you are the glory of the Empire.”

After a long silence, the AI spoke with solemn gravity: “Marshal, you are as well.”

In the very next second, it could be heard saying calmly, “Hibernation pod activated.”

The interior of the cockpit changed rapidly, the original observation window disappearing and being replaced by a wall mounted with a screen.

Immediately afterward, a luxurious hibernation pod capable of sustaining several epochs’ worth of supplies rose up from the floor.

The Imperial Marshal frowned. “Annihilator, what are you trying to do?”

The AI’s voice remained calm.

“Hibernation pod separation, medical bay activated.”

“Weapons bay preparing to deploy, engaging black hole gravitational forces.”

“Marshal, farewell.”

As the words fell, a terrifying impact swept through the entire hibernation pod, the Imperial Marshal’s brainwave frequency surging to its extreme, followed by an overwhelming wave of vertigo that caused him to lose consciousness.

On the screen, several lines of text flashed into view——

Habitable planet capture.

Targeting.

Virgo Supercluster, Milky Way, Earth.

Summary:

Xuan Zhi transmigrated into a world where the cultivation of “Supernatural Talismans” was a central practice. In this world, Talisman Masters could use talismans to summon gods, exorcise ghosts, command demons, and control the five elements, making this profession universally acknowledged as the No.1 most promising career in the cultivation world.

When she arrived, she was dressed in red bridal clothes, sitting in a bridal carriage, holding her ancestral “Celestial Talisman,” and preparing to form a marriage alliance with the Yun Clan of Eastern Zhou.

According to the original plot, after marrying into the Yun family, she would be restrained and effectively placed under house arrest in the name of the “three obediences and four virtues,” her husband would change from the Second Young Master Yun on the marriage contract to the abusive Third Young Master Yun, and she would eventually be tormented to death.

Meanwhile, the Yun family would seize her “Celestial Talisman,” summon wind and rain with it, and leap to become the number one great clan in Eastern Zhou.

Xuan Zhi: “Wouldn’t it be better for me to summon gods myself? Why should I give good things to others?”

***

Xuan Zhi: “Great Sage, I’ve been your fan since I was little!”

The “Celestial Talisman” rumbled, releasing a swirling cloud that carried her one hundred and eight thousand li before she plummeted headfirst straight into the main villain's bath.

Xuan Zhi: “I beseech True Lord Erlang to save my life!!”

The next moment, a dog paw suddenly struck her face, barking fiercely as it tore apart every malevolent spirit and sinister creature that surrounded her.

Xuan Zhi: “I may not be able to summon the great gods themselves, but I can summon their little pets and treasures.” (Forced smile.jpg)

Other characters in the book: “Just what kind of gods is she summoning?!!”

Xuan Zhi: “Sorry, my mythology runs on different lore.”

***

One day, Xuan Zhi finally summoned a god everyone recognized.

The Northern Abyss Ghost Emperor emerged amid countless evil spirit followers, clad in a black flame-edged robe with dancing sashes, his dark red eyes radiating a commanding, kingly aura, so imposing it seemed he was a different person from the one chased and bitten by a dog naked that day.

He held a divorce letter in his hand and sneered. “Part ways amicably, and live our own lives in peace?”

His sinister gaze locked onto Xuan Zhi. She snatched the letter, tore it to pieces, then shyly threw herself into his arms and squeezed out tears. “Boohoo, you devil, why did you come so late? Look, they all bullied me!”

Shentu Tao: “……”

Everyone she pointed at backed away in panic. “Good heavens, who is bullying who?!”

Summary:

In the suspenseful supernatural novel “Records of Mortals,” Jiang Baiyan, once a solitary and impoverished youth, finds refuge in the Shi family of Chang’an due to his extraordinary bloodline. With his clear and captivating peach blossom eyes, this seemingly innocent young man conceals a fanatical and malevolent lunatic within. Destined to succumb to darkness amidst hardship and degradation, he becomes a harbinger of chaos.

When Shi Dai suddenly transmigrates, she takes on the role of the Shi family’s young lady, the one who subjects him to countless trials, eventually leading to her demise.

The twist? She never got to finish reading the novel.

From what she knew of the plot, Jiang Baiyan was just a silent, timid, and often bullied pitiable character.

***

Jiang Baiyan had never encountered someone like Shi Dai.

After he had slaughtered all the evil creatures in the garden, the blood-stained young man, exuding a murderous aura, approached her step by step, his lips curling into a malicious smile, "Scared?"

Shi Dai responded, “You’re really amazing! I applaud you until I spin like a spiral and fly around the moon three hundred times! And also——you have dimples when you smile!"

Jiang Baiyan: ...?

After seeing her at a lantern festival with another man, Jiang Baiyan lowered his eyes, his fingers twirling her hair. He said in a mocking and sinister tone, "The mansion in the western suburbs...if I hide you there, no one will find you, right?"

Shi Dai replied, "Does it come with meals and lodging? Can I sleep in everyday? Oh, and your cooking is the best!"

Jiang Baiyan: ...?

Jiang Baiyan was supposed to dislike her, even hate her, but as their separation drew near, his eyes turned red and he grabbed her sleeve, pleading, "Don't abandon me, alri—”

Shi Dai responded, "Alright, alright, I’ll only have you. Mwah."

Jiang Baiyan: ...?

He hasn't finished his lines yet though…
