Chapter 489: The sky island...or continent

The ship they were on was still captured by the massive whirlpool that was too strong to escape, for normal ships, that was.

Kai’s ship was super advanced, so if he wanted to, he could easily escape the currents.

Unfortunately, sea monsters were still attacking their ship, and it wasn’t just the fishmen. There were starfish monsters, mermaid monsters, blob fish monsters, and a fucking sea horse monster that gave birth to more sea horse monsters on the deck.

"Kai!" Kyana yelled his name.

"What?"

"We’re getting closer to the center of the whirlpool!"

"Yeah, I noticed." He swatted a sea horse away, and a fishman broke its jaw trying to bite his neck.

Kai palmed the air, and a gust of wind tore all the monsters to shreds, covering the deck in blood and guts.

"Fuck, that’s gross." He cleaned that up instantly.

"Blerghhh!"

"That’s it, Sasha, get it all out." He soothed her,

"G-Get us o-out of here." She begged with pleading eyes, her face green from sea sickness

"Don’t worry, I have a plan. Ship, activate submarine mode!"

[Submarine mode active!]

The ship started to morph, and a metallic shell wrapped around everyone, forming a submarine. It then sank into the water.

"I-I feel slightly better." Sasha’s belly wasn’t throwing fits anymore.

"So you’re okay IN water but not ON water? Wow. Weird. Anyway, check this out, you guys. We’re going to ride this current all the way up, and it’s gonna shoot up right into the sky! Sounds fun, doesn’t it?"

"No," Kyana replied instantly, still hugging her tree.

Just then, something grabbed the submarine, dragging it deeper into the black ocean. Alarms and red lights started going off, and Kai checked to see what was going on.

"Hey! Get your filthy tentacles off my submarine, you fuckass Kraken!"

Of course, the Kraken didn’t respond well to the insult and started squeezing the sub with all its might. Unfortunately for it, the sub was extremely durable.

"Hey! I said Hands off!" Kai threw a lightning bolt through the sub and into the kraken. The lightning bolt didn’t destroy the sub or anything; it literally phased through it, striking the kraken through the head, electrifying and also killing it.

As it died, more monsters started swimming up to the submarine and began to bang on it in an attempt to rip it open.

"Okay, time to hit the gas!" Kai pressed a red button that said ’Do Not Press,’ and the sub materlized super thrusters, taking off through the water.

"Ahhh! We’re moving too fast!" Sasha yelled. hanging on to a guard rail for dear life.

"Hahaha! This is perfect! We’ll follow the path of this vortex, and shoot out of here like a rocket!"

"What’s a rocket?" Kyana asked

"It’s something that flies."

"Oh, like a bird?"

"Sure. Like a bird."

The sub continued to gain speed and started rising until it finally shot out of the water like a rocket, blasting off into the sky.

"Let’s gooooooooo!" Kai was having the time of his life, enjoying every moment of this adventure.

The submarine rocket continued to climb into the sky, flying past the clouds, and all of them came into view of the massive floating continent.

"Whoa!"

"Amazing!"

"Now that’s fucking insane!"

All of them were amazed by how the large piece of land could float in the sky, and they wanted to see what everything on the surface looked like.

"Okay, girls, time to leave this sub." He teleported everyone out, placed the sub in his inventory, then continued up to the surface via flight, Sasha and Kyana following him.

"I wonder what the people will be like. It was cool interacting with the other cultures. And I hope they have trees." Kyana spoke.

"I’m excited as well. I wonder if their currency is different." Of course, Sasha was thinking about money.

"Hopefully, they have sexy girls there." Kai was thinking with his dick, of course.

When they finally climbed all the way up to the surface level, there was a barrier preventing them from stepping inside. But Kai was a god, so he just opened it, brought all three of them inside, then closed it.

"Wow, this place looks amazing!"

The floating continent looked nearly identical to the other medieval continents that they were on, but everything was more...square and, surprisingly, futuristic.

Now, this wasn’t to say that this place was futuristic, because it was not. It was still medieval-looking. But the way the buildings were built, how systems were crafted, and how magic was used, everything looked very fancy and futuristic.

The attire was also extremely different. People wore robes, like in the Mirum manhwa Kai would read back on earth. People flew on swords, and he saw a lot of magical artifacts being used.

"Is this...a cultivation novel setting?" He wondered.

Now, this wasn’t a cultivation novel setting, but it just looked that way. He wouldn’t be surprised if mana here was called Ki and if they used their power in the form of a dantian instead of a mana core.

Also, there was a massive monster attacking the city they arrived in.

"So you two notice it as well, right?" Kai asked

"Notice what?" Kyana asked

"The monster."

"Oh, yeah, I saw that. I was too busy focusing on the trees, though. So lovely."

"Tree lover."

"Pussy lover."

"Ooof! My weakness! Being hit with a powerful comeback that I have no way to counter."

"Should we help?" Sasha asked

"Why not. Helping people makes it easier to get on their good side." Kai also thought it was a good way to make an impression on the women he would see.

"Cool. Let’s go." Kyana took off toward the monster and pulled out her bow.

Sasha followed behind her, taking out her shield and battle axe, and had a grin on her face.

Kai smiled, happy that he had at least a part of his group back together, and followed behind them. The three of them would show off how good their synergy was. At least that’s what he hoped to do.
