Chapter 490: Put your servant on a leash

"Formation, everyone!" A woman yelled

"Yes, Ma’am!" A unit of women replied

Ten women were battling the monster in the middle of the city. Each of them played a different role in their attempt to subdue the monster, causing destruction.

"I’ll restrain it!" One woman with short hair pulled out a circular device, charging it up with her energy. A formation appeared underneath the monster, and golden chains of light started wrapping around its body.

"Good work! Let’s kill this beast!"

A few more women helped restrain the monster while the rest went in for the kill.

Their swords drew blood, leaving deep cuts over the large beast’s body. Energy from their attacks seeped into the monster’s wounds, preventing it from regenerating as well.

One woman cut off its arm, while another cut off a leg.

"I’ll go for its heart!"

"I got the head!"

The two of them stabbed their blades in the heart and head of the monster, hoping it would kill it, but for some reason, the monster didn’t die and only became angrier.

A surge of the monster’s energy pushed everyone back, breaking out of the chains, and it regenerated its body while also evolving into a more powerful version of itself.

The monster was extremely large and tall with muscular arms that had three long fingers instead of a hand. Its legs were also muscular, and it had large feet with only three toes.

"It evolved!"

"Fall back and lure it out of the city!"

The women started to retreat in an attempt to lure the creature out of the city, but it moved faster than they realized.

One woman barely had enough time to block as the monster rammed its thick, muscular fingers into her body, knocking her out instantly while leaving her with a few broken bones.

"Dammit!"

One woman cut her hand to draw her own blood, then drew on the ground around the monster, creating an energy dome which she then ignited.

"How’s that, bastard!" The woman smirked

Unfortunately, the monster was barely harmed, and she was swatted away by its large arm, also getting injured.

"We need to bring this monster down right now! All of you, get in formation again, we’ll take it down together!"

"Understood!"

Just then, a powerful arrow blasted the monster in the face, taking its head off instantly.

"W-What was that?!"

"Did someone call for backup?"

"Looks like you all could use a hand? Or I guess an arrow." Kyana chuckled, appearing before them.

The monster regenerated its head, roared in anger, then charged at Kyana.

"Ugh, Kyana, that was so lame." Sasha blocked the attack, cut off the monster’s arm, then split the creature in half.

"W-What the hell?" The women were shocked by the strength of Kyana and Sasha.

Once more, the monster regenerated, this time into two creatures.

"Looks like I’ll be handling the rest, huh?" Kai arrived, landing with power that made everyone know that he wasn’t one to mess with.

"Now, begone." He swiped his hand, a blade of mana forming as he did, and completely wiped out the monsters.

"Haha! That was great!" He beamed with excitement. It was also nice to show off and look cool in his opinion.

"You’re so extra, man." Kyana shook her head.

"I thought it was cool." Sasha was on his side.

"Heh, thanks." He turned his attention to the women. "Your girls ok—ay?" All of them pointed their swords at him, and he raised his hands in surrender, not understanding what was going on.

He didn’t blame them for being on edge since the three of them came out of nowhere, were wearing different clothing, speaking in a different accent, and were strong as fuck.

However, this is what Kai would have thought if the women had pointed their blades at Sasha and Kyana as well, but that wasn’t the case.

"Who are you? And how can you use internal energy?" One woman, the leader, asked.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on, I think we’ve gotten off on the wrong foot here. I’m not a threat. I saw that you were battling a monster, so I wanted to help." Kai explained. Of course, he didn’t need to and could fry their brains with hypnosis if he wanted to, but he didn’t...well...want to.

"Commander Donna, he doesn’t have a collar on." One of the women informed her.

"What?" Donna looked back at Kai and noticed that his neck was free and open.

"You two!" Donna looked at Kyana and Sasha. "Why doesn’t your servant have a collar on his neck?"

Kyana and Sasha nearly lost their minds from how hilarious this situation was. A collar on Kai’s neck? They’d love to see that.

"Ahem, please forgive me. It seems that I forgot that I had taken it off." Kyana summoned a collar and placed it around Kai’s neck.

He was not into this shit at all and was about to take it off, but Kyana told him to wait and see where things went. This is when he felt like hypnotizing them, but he decided to just see how things played out.

One thing that was for certain, he was NOT going to be wearing this collar for long. The collar was very fancy with gold lining and a gemstone in the middle of it, so Kai was glad it looked nice at least.

Donna nodded. "Can I just ask you a question?"

"Sure." Kyana nodded.

"How is it that your servant knows how to wield Ki?"

Kai held in his laughter because energy here was indeed called Ki.

"Well, that’s a long story. You see, my family lost their lives, and only my sister and I survived. We’re adopted." Kyana didn’t want questions about how they are sisters when she’s an Elf, and Sasha is a dwarf.

"Our servant here happened to have an awakening, protecting us from harm. We were infected by energy-dispursing poison, so we couldn’t channel our... internal energy." Kyana was getting a bit of mental help from Kai when formulating her excuse.

"Ever since then, we allowed him to continue cultivating."

Donna nodded, understanding their circumstance. "While that may be the case, it’s still illegal for men to wield internal energy, so I’ll have to arrest your servant and bring him before the empress.

Kyana and Sasha were going to complain, but Kai told them to comply.

"We understand. Please, do as you must."

"Thank you for understanding. Arrest that man!"
