Chapter 505: That’s a lot of demons

The Sword and Mystic sect were doing their best, trying to hold off the onslaught of demons that invaded the capital. They were overwhelmed by the sheer number of men who wanted their society destroyed.

Still, they didn’t lose hope and continued to push forward.

Thankfully, the majority of the men were unskilled and lacked discipline, so they were easy to kill, but the ones who were the complete opposite of that were menaces to deal with.

"Sagana, watch out!" Nuela rushed in front of her and blocked an attack that was aimed at Sagana’s back.

The force of the impact dislocated her shoulder, and the demonic energy made her ki act up for a bit, but she was fine other than that.

"Nuela! Are you okay?" Sagana relocated Neula’s shoulder to get her back into the action.

"Thanks. And yeah, I’m okay. Although we need to be careful. Whoever attacked you was extremely powerful."

"Was I now?"

The two women turned around after hearing a voice behind them and immediately went for the attack, but Nuela’s sword was caught, and Sagana’s spell was ineffective.

"What the hell?"

The man snorted. "And you two are supposed to be one of the strongest here? Pathetic." He punched Nuela in the gut, forcing her to the ground, and with his other hand, he created an explosion with demonic energy that sent Sagana flying into a building.

"Nnghh! Such power." Nuela got up, only to see the man in front of her. She quickly went in for the attack again, only for her sword to be parried.

Quickly letting go of her sword, she pointed her first two fingers forward and created a blade out of Ki.

"Formless blade! Heavenly strike!" Multiple sword thrusts impaled he man, causing him to stumble backward, blood dripping from his shoulder and abdomen.

Nuela picked up her sword, leaped into the air, and came down on the man, but he dodged to the side and kicked her away.

As he took a step forward, a formation on the ground pinned him in place.

"Don’t think I’ll let you get away with the chaos you’re causing right now!" Sagana made a circle out of ki, which was then drawn around the formation she had already trapped the man in.

Strings of ki wrapped around the man, binding him in place, then they ignited into flames, burning him alive.

"Nuela! Finish him now!"

"Got it!" She rushed back into action and aimed her sword at his heart.

"Time to die, you monster!" The moment her sword reached his skin, the blade snapped.

"W-What?"

"Pwahaha! Did you think you could defeat me with that level of power?!" He broke out of the strings, destroyed the formation, then lunged at Nuela.

"Now you will die!" But then he was split in half. It was pretty comical if viewed from a spectator’s point of view.

"W-What? What just happened?" Nuela and Sagana were both confused.

"This dude really thought he was impressive? What a joke." Sasha wiped his blood from her axe.

"Handmaiden Sasha? What brings you here?" Nuela asked

"Kyana and I were in the area, so we decided to help out. These guys are pushovers, though."

"Handmaiden Kyana? Where is she?"

Sasha pointed at the sky. "Up there. USING THE SAME SKILL LIKE ALWAYS BECAUSE SHE IS BASIC!"

"FUCK OFF BITCH!" Kyana was indeed about to use the same skill she always did. Why? Because it worked, that’s why.

She pulled back her drawstring, her shoulder rolling back from the string’s weight, then she released it.

Hundreds of thousands of arrows rained down onto the demonic humans, wiping them all out in an instant, leaving none of them alive. It was so fast and precise that no one was able to react until the attack was over.

"Whoa!"

"She’s that strong?!"

Sagana and Nuela didn’t expect the two of them to be this powerful. They could feel their strength, but they would have never expected it to be on this level. It was as if they were looking at the Empress herself.

"Sweet. Now that Kyana has handled things here, let’s aid the Lunar sect and help with search and rescue." Sasah smiled.

"Wow, look at that place, it’s like a circus of demons. Hahaha!" Kai was looking at a fort of demons dancing around a fire while singing what was apparently a song. But to him, it sounded like...actually, he didn’t know what it sounded like because it was so horrible.

"They’re singing an old demon ritual song. It’s for good luck during wartime. The dance is also to praise the supreme demons." Yorrigan explained

"Supreme demons?" Kai asked

"The demon king and his right hands."

"Oh! Okay." Kai pointed his finger at the outpost and wiped them all out in an instant. "Heh, so much for good luck."

"Really?"

"What? You asked me to help you retake the outposts from your enemies while Telia spoke to those people you captured. I’m just doing what you asked."

"I know. But you only killed them like that because of the ritual."

Kai shrugged. "Does it matter?"

"No. No, it doesn’t. Let’s go."

"So, do you want to become my woman as well? All of your other sisters agreed. Well, not the last sister, who I haven’t met yet."

"Torrigan. That’s her name. I’m guessing that once you’re done here, you’ll be going there as well."

"Yup."

She smiled. "You know, my sisters talk about you all the time. About how you’re a flirt and love having sex. You’re literally what women would call scum."

"I know. It’s pretty awesome."

She shook her head with a smile. "I don’t mind, to be honest. There’s something about you that made me want to pounce on you when I laid eyes on your face for the first time."

’That would be my amazing charm and pheromones, darling. Even without hypnosis, I can bed any woman. A man who beds women, that’s who I am!’

"What can I say? I’m just handsome."

"Heh, shut up. We’re here. This base is the command center for—"

Kai didn’t care and just blew it up.
