Chapter 529: The plan is shit...HOWEVER

"Kai, you’re back." Gwen lifted his legs and rested them on her lap, taking a seat next to him on the couch.

"Yeah, I was just explaining to Nadya about my plan, kind of."

"Is it a good plan?"

Kai didn’t respond right away. "It’s a plan."

"Oh great."

"Hey, look, I’m trying my best, okay?"

"No, no, don’t worry, babe. I’m not saying that your plan will be shitty or anything like that. I’m just saying that normally when you don’t have a good plan, things go crazy."

She wasn’t wrong, and Kai didn’t deny her words. Still, he felt insulted, in a joking way.

"Don’t worry, this time, the plan won’t be crazy, I promise."

"Can you keep your word?"

"Nope." Kai got up and approached Thalia on the other side of the hideout.

"Oh, Kai. How may I help you?"

"I have a plan that I need to go over with you and everyone else."

She nodded. "Alright, let me call everyone over."

Thalia told some of her attendants to spread the word about a meeting and told them to arrive at the lounge within ten minutes. No one dared to ignore her demands, and most of them arrived within two minutes.

"Thank you for coming on such short notice. Today, we will be going over a plan Kai came up with to finally end this conflict we have with that blasted god and return to our families."

"Yeahhh!!"

"The stand is yours, Kai."

He stepped forward. "You all will die." Kai didn’t sugarcoat anything. He wanted them to understand the predicament they were in. He didn’t want them to rely on him simply because he was a god.

Upon walking through the hideout, he noticed people being a lot happier, calmer, and hopeful upon being in his presence. So he shut that down quickly.

"But it’s not what you think. Even with my help, I can only offer you limited aid because the divine being we are going against is more powerful than I am. However, I do have a way to significantly increase the chances of survival."

Everyone waited patiently for him to explain his plan.

"I’m able to absorb the essence of divine beings. The time barrier you all are trapped in was created by a divine essence. Therefore, I can absorb it and set everyone free."

This was great news in everyone’s eyes. They didn’t understand why Kai said that they would all die when they would all be able to leave instead.

"There’s a ’but’ isn’t there?" Thalia asked

"Yes. You see, if I set all of you free, then I will be setting all of your enemies free as well. The Chrono-Beasts, the demigods, the gods, and that titan bitch. Do you want all of them to rampage your continent?"

Now they were starting to understand what Kai meant.

"Then how are we going to beat them? You came here to save us, yet you’re as useless as the others!"

Kai killed that one person for being mean. "Anyone else want to speak out like that?"

Silence.

"No? That’s what I thought. Anyway, we’re going to split off into five groups. Four will attack the forts, then the fifth one will attack the castle. I’m going to assume that the titaness replaced the god I killed. Then, Thalia and I will face that titaness."

"But we can’t fight against the demigods. They’re too powerful." All of the women agreed with this claim. They were powerful, but not that powerful

"I agree. While I understand what you’re trying to do, Kai, I think it’s best if I stay behind and attempt to kill them on my own." Thalia didn’t wish to sacrifice others.

"Then you’ll be stuck here forever." Suddenly, an idea came to his head.

"Hmmm. Thalia, let me hold your hand real quick."

"Um..okay." She extended her arm to Kai, feeling his large hand grip it tightly, but not to the point where it started to hurt.

Then, she felt a huge surge of power rush through her body. It was so intense that it felt as if she was about to explode, but the moment the energy settled down, she felt more powerful than ever before.

"Ahh, so it worked. Congratulations, you’re strong enough to fight gods now." He gave her a small round of applause.

"W-What the hell did you just do to me?"

"I have you a fighting chance, just like what I’m about to do to all of you." With a wave of his hand, Kai strenghtned every one else who was going to fight with them, making them all strong enough to face demigods.

"A-Amazing!"

"Do you feel the way I do?"

"This power is intense!"

"Okay, settle down. This power isn’t permanent." It actually was, but Kai wasn’t going to let them keep it. That would fuck with the balance of the continent.

"It will only last for three days, maximum. This means that we need to succeed within that time frame. So, now, we can do my plan, yes?"

"Fuck yeah! I can kill some demigods right now!"

"Sign me up!"

"I want revenge!"

"Wait, what about everyone who died already?"

"Don’t worry about that. Once the time barrier is destroyed, they will come back to life." Since the time barrier was activated before these people had died, they would come back in the state they were in previously.

Many people sighed in relief knowing that their family and friends would come back.

"Okay, prepare everything you need. Once we start this mission, we aren’t stopping, do you understand?"

"Yes, Sir Kai!" Everyone shouted

"Great! Let’s get to work."

"Kai." Thalia pulled him aside to talk to him in private.

"Yeah?"

"Do you think we can win? I’m assuming that I’m still not even as strong as you are. Even with this power increase, we still may end up falling short of victory."

She spoke the truth, and Kai didn’t know.

"We’ll see. This is a first for me. Normally, I’m bailed out of these situations by my father, or I’m able to win ever so slightly. I guess this is the real challenge I have to face before I kill my brother."

"What? You’re gonna have to do what?"

"Haha, I’ll tell you later."
