Chapter 528: Scouting
Chapter 528: Scouting
The Titaness was sitting on her throne, clenching her fists as she replayed her encounter with Kai. She noticed that he was an outer god, but was relatively young. No, he wasn’t just young; he was too young to be a god of that caliber.
"Is he a reincarnated god?" She has come across many gods who shed their former selves and became mortal to build themselves back up even stronger than before. But it didn’t seem to be the case with Kai.
"And what he said about the Progenitor, it was as if they were close, like friends. But that’s impossible. The progenitor only cares about his wife and two daughters. He even killed all of his sons after they tried to revolt against him. So he can’t be close to him. But what if he was?"
She continued to ponder why Kai would use the gods of all gods to try to save his skin. It didn’t make any sense. She wouldn’t even be surprised if the progenitor came down and destroyed the planet because of Kai’s words, but that didn’t happen.
"Could he be a new son? A redo child? The latest child of Lord Nemean?" If so, then she would be in deep shit.
"No, that’s not the case. But he can use Progenitor Decay. I know that Aion did something to this world that allowed some of the residents to use it, but it was in such a state that it would do nothing to a god. That Kai bastard killed my son using that foul energy."
"Mother! Reporting!" A god stepped inside her throne room.
"Speak, my son."
"W-We’ve spotted that new god roaming around the old town. He’s not really doing anything, but he looks suspicious. We have people watching him, but we already know that he’s aware of our presence, so we wanted to make sure you were aware of this information."
She placed a hand on her mouth, thinking about her next move. "Just keep an eye on him and do nothing. If he doesn’t attack, then don’t engage. If you can do anything, lure him to me, and I’ll deal with him."
"Yes, mother!" The demigod left.
The Titaness teleported outside and touched the time barrier. Her hand sizzled, then lightning crackled around her hand, and her entire arm was blown off. Even after many centuries, she still couldn’t escape this Time Barrier.
"Dammit. That bitch really made a powerful barrier out of her own body. Fucking crazy goddess." She returned to her throne, regenerating her arm.
---
"Hmmmm." Kai touched the ground, trying to see how the Time Barrier was erected. He wanted to figure out how to tear it down.
After getting a good night’s sleep, he attacked the barrier, only to be blown away. He was surprised to see how powerful the barrier was and got nervous when he couldn’t break it.
On the bright side, he could teleport out of the barrier with ease, but there was something blocking his power. He could teleport to wherever his father was, but anywhere else, he couldn’t, not even the spirit world.
"Show me what happened." He spread his power throughout the land, and he saw a vision of the past, watching what happened over a thousand years ago.
Two dieties clashed in space, crashing onto the planet where they continued to fight. Telia, Thalia, and Area helped the losing goddess, but they weren’t that big of help.
Then, the goddess used her own divine essence to create a barrier that trapped the town they crashed into in time, preventing the titaness from leaving. After that, the vision ended, and Kai snapped back to his senses.
"Hmmm." Kai couldn’t reverse time to revive the goddess, but he could absorb her essence, or at least try to.
"Maybe that would break the barrier." He theorized, but he didn’t think about it for too long. After coming to his conclusion, he decided to scout out the four forts.
He flew around the area, locating one of the forts, and surveyed it from above. His vision was extremely powerful, so he managed to see everything that was going on.
Many men and women had been captured, used to please the demigods when they got bored. Men were drained by the women demigods, and the men used the women like sex dolls.
Kai frowned upon the sight and instantly blew the fort up while saving the men and women, cleaning them, and teleporting them to the fort.
"What the hell?"
"How did this happen?"
"Who did this?"
"Are we under attack?"
That’s all Kai did, blow up the fort. He was going to allow the people slaughter the demigods on their own, getting their own revenge. While he did kill some, he didn’t kill all.
Traveling to the other forts, Kai saw that there was more of the same thing going on, so he did the same thing as well, helping the people while blowing up the forts.
Once he was done, he teleported back to the hideout.
"I’m back." He landed on a couch, lying his head on Nadya’s lap.
"How was scouting?" She asked, kissing his forehead.
"Well, I’ve learned a good bit and freed some people."
"I’ve noticed that. The mood has been lighter ever since you teleported those people back here."
"That’s good to know. I have an idea on how to get out of here. It can make me stronger, but it will also free the Titaness."
"Is that a bad thing?" She wondered.
"Well, that depends. She could leave and never come back, which would be best for us. Or she might attack me since I killed her children. Apparently, she’s birthing these demigods and gods. I assume it was to help her escape, but it never worked."
"I see. That does make sense. I’m assuming you’re going to destroy the time barrier?"
"More like absorb it. The barrier is actually the divine essence of the fallen goddess. If I absorb it, I will most definitely be more powerful than before, but I don’t know if it will be enough."
"Don’t worry, babe, I believe in you."
"Heh, thanks."
