Chapter 562 562: The past
Chapter 562 562: The past
"Sooooo...What's next?" Now that Kai had created life, a step that he needed to take to become a fully realized Primordial, he wondered what he was to do next.
"Hmmm." Leo thought about his answer for a bit. Physical training was still something Kai needed to go through, but he didn't fully have an understanding of his powers. So after coming to this conclusion, Leo turned to Clarisse.
"Clarisse, I'm sorry for bringing you out here with us. I was planning on having you teach Kai how to use his primordial powers in a fight, but it seems that I have to teach him about his origins first."
"Do not apologize, my lord. You simply did what you thought was best at the time. I shall return to Divinity City and await my time to train Kai." She bowed
"That would be great." Leo smiled
Clarisse waved Kai goodbye, then warped away.
"So, what about my origins?"
"The spark inside you."
Kai touched his heart, thinking that the spark was there.
"No, that's not where the spark is." Leo laughed
"Oh. Then where is it?"
Leo motioned around Kai's entire body, telling him that his entire being is the spark.
"So my entire being is the spark."
"That's right. But you're also looking at things improperly. The spark isn't something I passed on to you like a gene. Remember, I told you that you're practically a copy of my power, given life, form, and consciousness. Your entire existence is the spark."
"So tell me. If Aion does get my body, which he wants, how powerful would he be?"
"On paper, he would be able to recreate the universe, albeit on a smaller scale."
"Smaller scale?"
"Well, you, Kai, won't ever be as powerful as I am. In fact, your power is my power. Nothing in this universe, no matter how much power I give them, will ever be able to go against me."
"Your logic is very annoying."
"I saw the future and decided that you should beat Aion. End of this discussion."
"Never."
"Moving on. Follow me. Let's take a trip down memory lane."
"Sweet! We're going back in time."
Leo summoned a car and then snapped his fingers, teleporting Kai into the passenger seat. He then started driving down a road he created, and it literally had his memories play on the side, going backward the more they drove forward.
"You're lame as hell for this, dude."
A bellow escaped Leo's mouth upon hearing Kai's reaction. "What? We're LITERALLY going down memory lane. I thought it would be pretty sick."
"Sure, sure."
The drive down memory lane took a very, very long time. Leo was billions if not trillions of years old, and he had even more memories than the age he was. Of course, this didn't mean their drive took a googol amount of years, but it did take an entire month, from the outside at least.
Kai knew that it was a month until they reached the past where Leo wanted to take them, but it only felt like ten minutes. Everything moved so fast, but his primordial perception kept him aligned with time, allowing him to know how much time had passed.
"Here we are, the beginning of time." Leo spread out his arms to show Kai literally nothing but a white void."
"Wow, very...homey."
"I know! This is why I have my personal room be a white void. It reminds me of the early days."
"You mean the earliest of days?" Kai asked
"Tamato Tamato."
"You said Tamato twice."
"Fuck you!"
After their little banter, Leo explained everything from the beginning.
"The white void, this place, is the start of creation. Also known as the spark of creation. Nothing existed prior to this moment, and eventually, everything will come back to this moment. I'm far older than everyone thinks, so is your mother."
Kai raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"The only thing that is eternal in the universe is the spark. Eventually, no matter how powerful a being is, they will eventually be consumed by the forces of the unviverse in order to create another one."
"A cosmic reset," Kai concluded.
"Exactly. As I said before, only the spark will remain. This means you and I will be alive. Also, Divinity City will be here since it was created using the spark. And your mother, as she was created by using the spark as well."
"Whatttt? Is Mom like me? Us?"
"Yes. I gave her the spark since she was the first being I created. She has been there with me since the beginning. Now, you will also be like us. Also, just because the universe will eventually reset doesn't mean that every deity will die."
"You can pick and choose who survives the great reset?"
"I can. Your sisters are prime examples of that."
Now Kai was lost. "I thought that they were born after Aion."
"A lie. They were the first ever children Cassie and I had. I didn't give them the spark, but they are protected by my power and will survive every cosmic reset."
"Hmmm. I'm guessing you told Aion about all of this."
Leo nodded hesitantly, not wanting to remember that time.
"I told him all of this because I wanted him to inherit the spark. I was going to give it to him after seeing how great he would be, and added to Cassie filling his head about how great he would be as a creator like me."
"But that backfired, and he rebelled."
"Yup. That motherfucker. Anyway. He tried to take the spark from Cassie, which didn't work out. So then, he rallied his brothers and a ton of deities to fight against me, which ended with all of them dead, as well as me creating Progenitor Decay."
Leo looked a bit sad, but he pressed on.
"But before that, he noticed that Cassie was pregnant with you, and he sensed that you were different. This is when he attacked her for the second time, but this time, she almost let him have you out of pity."
"That's when you removed me from her."
"Yes. I locked Leo up soon after, then kept you with me until...well, you know the rest. This is also why Cassie is super affectionate to you. She regrets what she did and wants to make it up to you."
"I see."
"But enough with the sadness right now. I wanted to also show you this."
A scene of Leo being born happened right in front of Kai's eyes. The spark, Leo, willed himself into existence, taking the form of what looked to be a human, elf, dwarf, and beastman all together. But that wasn't all. He also had taken on other alien forms that Kai didn't recognize.
'The progenitor.' Kai realized. 'Everything came from him, including all of the races.'
He then saw Leo simply float around the white void, doing nothing. He looked bored, tired, but also as if he were thinking about something. And then, it happened, he created Cassie. However, the two of them didn't look how they did now.
Leo was tall and was the same color as the void, white. Just pure white light. Cassie looked exactly the same, but slightly shorter. He didn't create Cassie to be a copy or a clone of him, but a being with its own consciousness.
They didn't speak, had no faces, and no body features. But they understood each other.
Their knob-hand morphed into five fingers, hair started to grow, their bodies gained a different pigmentation, Leo having more of a light brown color, while Cassie had a pale complexion, but was very beautiful.
Leo resembled what would be known as a man, and Cassie resembled what would be known as a woman. Then, they spoke to each other for the first time.
It was a beautiful sight, and Kai couldn't help but smile seeing his parents like that.
Once they had their forms, Cassie had asked Leo whether he wanted to give form to the void as well, and he agreed. And thus, space was created, a massive black void.
Of course, Cassie wasn't talking about simply giving the void another color, so they brainstormed and eventually came up with the ideas of stars, planets, moons, and so on.
Thousands of years later, they had fully created the universe and had created life in their image.
"So this is the beginning of time, huh?" Kai asked.
"Yeah. Great time. The universe was small back then, and only a few hundred worlds existed. Of course, this changed, and here we are now."
"Question."
"Shoot."
"How long until the cosmic reset?"
"Hmm. To put it into percentages, I'd say we're about five percent into this current universe. We still have ninety-five percent to go until the great reset."
"Oh, so that's a really fucking long time, especially if bullions of years ago was when Aion was born and shit like that."
"Yup. I don't even think there is a number to classify how long it will take to reach the cosmic reset."
"That's great." Then Kai asked his father a question. "What does this have to do with Aion? I'm assuming that you are showing me all of this because of him, right?"
Leo sighed, then fast-forwarded eons. "Look at this."
