Chapter 574 574: A conversation between brothers

A snicker came from Kai's mouth as he heard Aion's question. Did he know about the universal reset? Of course he did. Leo told him after all. But Aion didn't know that until now, that is.

"Yeah, what about it?"

Aion was a bit shocked. He didn't think that Leo would tell Kai such a thing. This was something Leo had kept away from him for a long time. A bit of jealousy flared up in his body, but Aion controlled himself.

"So the old man told you about his greatest sin, huh?"

"I wouldn't go that far to call it that."

"Oh?" Aion faced Kai and raised an eyebrow. "Why is that?"

"At a certain point, everything needs to come to an end. Even before I knew about all of this godly bullshit, I believed that the universe would end one day and then be reborn once more. This doesn't really bother me." Kai actually thought it was pretty cool that he was able to confirm or deny scientific theories.

"But what if it's your friends and family who suffer due to that reset?"

Kai took a minute to think. He started to understand Aion a bit more.

"You lost your family?" Kai asked

"Multiple times. And our father did nothing to save them."

Instead of a moment of silence to mourn the dead, Kai asked another question.

"And what were you like back then?"

Aion didn't respond. He was the same way he was then as he is now, so he knew Kai would use that as an excuse to say that his family deserved it.

"If your family was killed because of the universal reset, what would you do?" Aion suspected that Kai would have a similar response to him, but the answer that came out of his little brother's mouth shocked him.

"Die with them."

"What?" Aion took a step back.

"Well, first of all, that would never happen. I have the spark in me, so I can protect them. Second, I'm the favorite child, so our parents would make sure that my family is safe. Third, even if none of that was the case, I would wish to follow them into the afterlife if there is one. That way, I can be with them forever."

Aion shook his head at his little brother's answer. "That's a mortal response."

"I was mortal until a few years ago."

"No. You lived as a mortal, but you were not mortal."

"Whatever."

"Listen, Kai, in all honesty, I do not wish to kill you. You have the power to change things, to end our father's reign, and fix the universe."

"Pwahahahahaha!" Kai didn't know whether Aion was joking or not, but he didn't care.

"Listen here, Aion. You tried to kill me when you first met me. You poisoned my world, tried to kill me again, and then you tried to kill my family. Nothing you say, whether you are right or wrong, will change my opinion of you. Once this chat is over, I will kill you, and this chapter of my life will end."

An exhausted sigh escaped Aion's mouth. "I wish it didn't have to come to this."

"Yes, you do."

A massive smirk appeared on Aion's face. "You're right!"

Sound doesn't travel through space, but waves do. Aion, moving faster than light, dug his fist into Kai's chest, punching him so hard that a wave of raw energy vaporized everything in the vicinity and sent Kai flying into a different solar system.

He sped up to his little brother, grabbing his neck while the momentum continued to carry Kai through space.

"I've been waiting for this! You haven't been around here long, so you don't understand the position that you put yourself in!"

Kai grabbed the arm Aion was using to choke him out and tried to force it off, but he didn't expect Aion to be that much stronger than him.

"What? Surprised that you can't do anything?!" One headbutt was enough to break Kai's nose, and when Aion's eyes started to glow, Kai was blasted into a nearby asteroid, creating a crater from the impact.

"Argh! Fuck, that burns!" Kai could feel his body healing while steam came from his chest. The feeling of his chest burning made it hard to breathe, but he still moved to get up.

He saw Aion flying toward him like a rocket and jumped away, but Aion landed on his leg, snapping it in half.

"Arghhh!"

"Where are you going?!" He picked Kai up by his broken leg, then slammed him back into the asteroid multiple times. After lifting him up once more, he tossed his brother into another asteroid and flew over to him.

"I'm going to take from you what rightfully belonged to me!" Aion flew right through the asteroid where Kai had landed, knocking him away once more, then grabbed him with mana and pulled him back.

'Fucking bastard!' Kai wasn't going to let Aion play with him like that and channeled his power into his fist. When Aion prepared to punch him, Kai rotated his body and matched Aion's fist with his own.

The result of their powers clashing was a massive explosion that obliterated the asteroid field they were in.

But that wasn't all. Kai's arm was completely shattered.

"Nnnnghhh! S-Shit!"

"Kai, do you even know why I was the successor to our father? It was because I was the strongest out of all of our siblings. Even our mother cannot kill me with ease." He blitzed Kai and punched him in the gut.

"I'm faster." A slap to the face knocked Kai into a moon.

"I'm smarter." He landed on Kai's chest, crushing it.

"And I'm simply better." He pressed his foot harder into Kai's chest, feeling the softness of his heart underneath his foot.

"You are a nobody. You know it, our parents know it, our sisters know it, and everyone in Divinity City knows it. No one in their right mind would challenge me because they know what would happen if they do."

"Nngh! Y-Yeah. You'll talk their ears off with how much you keep complaining about not being Leo's successor." Kai joked, blood pooling out of his mouth.

"You jest?" Aion stomped on Kai's face, then made his body float in the air and delivered millions of powerful punches in the span of a second, brutally injuring his brother.

"Do you think this is a game, little brother?"

"I-If it...nngh...was, then I didn't b-bring my controller."

"Hahahaha!" Aion blasted a hole through Kai's chest.

"For someone who is meant to take our father's position, you are so weak. My birthright will not be stolen by a brat like you who is old enough to still suck on his mother's tits!" Aion kicked Kai's body and watched it bounce on the surface of the moon.

"Our father will regret making you his successor!"

Kai's chest and other injuries healed as he got back up. "Jeez, man! How fucking big is it?"

"The fuck you say?"

"How big is that dick in your mouth?"

Aion's face flared up in anger, and he charged at Kai with a punch that would take his head off, but when he attacked, Kai had moved to the side and delivered a punch to the ribs so powerful that not only were his ribs shattered, but the moon exploded from the energy shockwave.

"Arghhhhhh!!!" Aion bellowed in pain.

Kai cracked his neck, smirked, then motioned with his fingers for Aion to come at him.

"You talk too much." Kai spat. "Stop sucking Leo's dick and actually throw a punch that I can feel."
