Chapter 575 575: Blood for Blood
Chapter 575 575: Blood for Blood
He is crazy. That's what Aion thought when he saw the look on his little brother's face. He had just gotten done beating the shit out of Kai, not giving him any opportunity to do any significant damage to him, yet he still found the time to not only make jokes, but also talk shit.
It was baffling. If Kai wasn't someone he had to kill, he would want him by his side as his right-hand man.
"What are you thinking about?" Kai took advantage of Aion's inaction and kneed him in the face after launching himself from his previous position.
Aion slid back, dust and pebbles rising as his feet dug into the surface to slow his momentum. As he angled his head back down, Kai was already in front of him with a punch ready to slam into his face.
This time, Aion wasn't caught off guard and blocked the strike, at least that's what he attempted to do.
Kai had phased through Aion's body, leaned forward until his hands were pressed against the surface of the moon, then kicked back with all his might, knocking Aion to the other side of the moon.
He followed up by flying toward his older brother with blue energy surrounding his body and blasting Aion through the moon, launching him into interstellar space.
Giving Aion a chance to get himself together would be detrimental to Kai, so he went all out to keep Aion on his toes.
While being launched through space, Aion had to deal with multiple rays of energy that Kai had created to keep him on the defensive. When he would finish deflecting them all, a magic circle would appear to catch him off guard, forcing him to defend himself again.
Some magic circles were fakes, while some were real. Kai noticed that Aion was getting better at defending himself, so he needed to change up his game.
"Is this the extent of your plan? To tire me out by keeping me on the defensive?" Aion asked, defending against a fake magic circle, only for Kai to punch him in the back.
"Is it working?" Kai asked, circling around Aion as he then wrapped his entire body in a golden energy string, pulled him close, then blasted him away with the Law of energy.
"Haha! No." Aion disappeared, appearing over Kai, and slammed both fists into his brother's back.
Kai quickly regained his footing, only to be kicked in the gut and crash into an uninhabitable planet.
The ground shattered outward in a massive crater, rock and dust erupting into the air. Cracks tore through the planet's crust as the shockwave rolled across the empty landscape. Before the dust could even settle, a streak of light tore down from the sky.
Aion plunged straight into the crater, his hands burning with energy and a smirk on his face that told Kait that he needed to get out of the way immediately.
Kai barely rolled aside before the punch struck. The impact detonated the ground, blasting stone in every direction. Aion's second strike came immediately, a backhand wrapped in the law energy. Kai blocked, but the force still hurled him across the crater.
He slid along the broken rock, boots carving trenches. His arms felt as if he had been struck by lightning, then crushed by a boulder, but he had no time to rest as Aion was already there.
A kick wrapped in destruction energy tore toward Kai's ribs. Kai twisted, catching the leg and redirecting it. His elbow slammed into Aion's jaw, followed by a palm strike glowing with compressed energy that blasted Aion backward.
Kai surged forward, his fists moving in a blur. He struck Aion in multiple parts of his body, the jaw, ribs, chest, and legs, each hit exploding with divine power, something he wasn't used to using. The final strike warped space around Aion and launched him through a jagged mountain.
Aion stepped out of the rubble, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. His expression sharpened.
"Pretty good, little brother. I can feel you getting used to your power as a primordial. That punch was amazing!"
"Shut up, you freak!"
"So rude." Aion vanished.
Kai's eyes widened just as Aion reappeared in front of him. Aion's fist smashed into Kai's face with enough force to bend space. Kai spun through the air before Aion grabbed him mid-flight and hurled him back into the ground.
The planet groaned under the strain these two brothers were putting it through.
Kai tried to rise, but Aion was already descending. A crushing knee strike slammed into Kai's shoulder. Aion followed with a brutal series of punches, each one hammering Kai deeper into the crater.
As Aion continued to pummel Kai, a surge of energy blasted Aion away. He extended his hands slightly from his side, catching himself and regaining his balance in the air.
Kai launched upward and met Aion in the air. Their fists collided, shockwaves rippling across the planet's surface. He drove a knee into Aion's stomach, then struck him across the face with a blade of condensed energy. A line of blood cut across Aion's cheek.
Aion grinned. He slipped past Kai's guard and drove a devastating punch straight into Kai's gut, the air exploding from his lungs, then he struck Kai down to the ground.
While Kai did manage to land on his feet, he was still winded from the attack and needed to catch his breath. But before he could recover, Aion appeared and swept low, destabilizing Kai's footing, grabbed his head, then slammed him into the ground.
The impact shattered the crater completely. Aion lifted Kai again by the head, divine energy gathering in his free hand. A blinding beam erupted point-blank, blast launching Kai through the atmosphere like a comet, rocketing him into space.
Aion shot upward after him immediately, eyes locked on his target with a smirk on his face.
Kai drifted among shattered fragments of stone, body screaming in pain but still conscious. He could see Aion closing the distance, and so he acted.
Using all the strength he had, Kai summoned his trump card, and when Aion came close, he cut his brother across the chest, blood pooling through the void.
Aion's eyes widened as he saw his blood drift into the vacuum. He felt pain, an intense pain that didn't go away even after healing. No, his body didn't even heal properly.
Upon realizing what he was cut with, he smiled.
"So you finally pulled it out, huh?"
"That's right, scared?" Kai mocked
"Haha! No. In fact, I'm glad that you decided to use your trump card. This allows me to finally take this battle seriously."
Kai didn't like those words. He had been giving it everything he had, but Aion wasn't? He nearly let out every curse word in the book.
"Say, little brother. Did you know that Primordials of a certain level of power have true forms?"
Kai's eyes widened. "What?"
Aion's energy erupted from his body.
