The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 1067: The Traitor

Chapter 1067: The Traitor

"D-Draco...!?"

Evalyn was stunned.

She looked back at the man, her face filled with fear and disbelief.

The black-cloaked man remained silent for a moment before calmly speaking.

"Draco? Who’s that?"

Cassiopeia smiled dismissively.

"Do you still want to keep pretending? If that’s what you want... fine."

She waved her hand.

Instantly, a giant purple sword appeared above the man’s head.

The man tried to dodge, but a terrifying pressure from both sides immediately pinned him in place, leaving him unable to move.

Boom!

The sword struck him and exploded, sending a blinding purple light in every direction.

Evalyn quickly raised her arm to shield her eyes.

A moment later, the light faded. She looked up and saw that the man was still standing, but his appearance had changed quite a bit.

The black cloak that had covered his body was now in tatters, revealing his muscular frame, which was covered in glowing red lines.

His hair was red, and his blood-red eyes had vertical pupils like a snake’s.

Evalyn’s eyes widened as she finally realized who the man was.

"Draco...!?"

It really was Draco, one of the Seven Constellation Mages!

Only Cassiopeia remained calm. Her expression was flat and indifferent, as if she had suspected his identity all along.

Draco rubbed his stinging face before glaring sharply at Cassiopeia.

"Since when have you known about this?" he asked coldly.

Cassiopeia gave a faint smile as she slowly rose into the air until she was level with Draco.

"From the very beginning. No, to be more precise, since we left the imperial palace for the southern territories."

Draco’s face darkened.

"Who told you? Was it Elina Lorian?"

Cassiopeia didn’t answer. Instead, she asked, "Why did you betray the Great Empire of Velmora?"

Her voice was indifferent, but there was deep disappointment hidden beneath it.

Draco rubbed his face before smiling.

"Betray the Great Velmora Empire, you say?" He chuckled. "Sorry, but you’ve got the wrong idea."

"What do you mean?"

Cassiopeia furrowed her brows.

"From the very beginning, I was never part of the Great Velmora Empire," Draco continued casually, folding his arms across his chest.

"How should I put it? Well, just think of me as a member of the Holy Empire of Valtanir who infiltrated the central government of the Great Velmora Empire."

"What did you say...!?"

Cassiopeia’s breathing quickened at his confession.

If this news ever reached the public, it would shake the entire empire.

After all, she, Draco, and the other five Constellation Mages had been brought together by Ragan when he ascended the throne.

They had been formed for one purpose: to defend the empire and help it face any powerful enemies that might emerge in the future.

It had never crossed her mind, not even once, that Draco was actually a spy. His confession completely shattered the trust she had always placed in him.

"Surprised?" Draco laughed at the change in Cassiopeia’s expression. "Well, that’s understandable. I’ve hidden my identity so well that even you only managed to figure it out recently."

Cassiopeia composed herself before asking coldly, "Does His Majesty Ragan know about this?"

"How could he? If he knew, there’s no way he’d let me get away with it, right?"

Draco snickered.

"That’s a really stupid question."

Cassiopeia fell silent. A few seconds later, she regained her composure and smiled.

"Thank you for the information. Since Orion isn’t here, I’ll be the one to punish you!"

Whoosh!

She shot toward Draco at incredible speed.

Draco didn’t dare let his guard down. He clenched his fist and swung it at Cassiopeia.

Boom!

Their fists collided, sending shockwaves rippling through the air in every direction.

Evalyn quickly drove the Divine Sword of Luminus into the ground and grabbed its hilt, holding on tight to keep herself from being swept away by the shockwave.

A few moments later, the ripples gradually faded. When Evalyn looked up, she was startled to find that both Draco and Cassiopeia had vanished from sight.

...

Ten kilometers from the Corvil Plains lay a small range of hills, each no more than twenty meters high. A dense, quiet forest surrounded them.

At that moment, two figures, one red and the other purple, flew through the air above the hills, occasionally colliding with each other.

Boom!

The sound of their collision was deafening. The shockwave sent the trees on the hills swaying violently.

Animals and monsters living in the forest panicked and fled from the two glowing figures.

The red and purple beams collided once more before bouncing off each other and flying apart.

The red beam turned back into Draco, while the purple one took the form of Cassiopeia.

Both looked a little disheveled after their brief clash, but Cassiopeia was clearly in much better shape than Draco.

That wasn’t surprising, considering Cassiopeia was the second strongest after Orion. Draco, on the other hand, ranked fifth in terms of magical power, below Lyra and Phoenix.

However, these rankings only took magical power into account. If physical strength were included, Draco would rank second, right below Orion.

"You’re still as strong as ever, Cassiopeia."

Draco licked the blood dripping from the corner of his lips.

"It seems I’ll have to take you seriously. Otherwise, I might end up regretting it—and so will the Holy Empire of Valtanir."

Draco didn’t dare underestimate Cassiopeia. She was a really troublesome opponent. In his opinion, even fighting Orion was much easier.

At least Orion wasn’t the type to rely on tricks or come up with unexpected plans. Cassiopeia, on the other hand, was a completely different story.

Draco brought his hands together and formed a complex hand seal.

Buzz!

Four red magic circles appeared around him: one in front, one behind, and one on each side.

All four circles glowed brightly before releasing beams of red light toward him.

Boom!

A massive explosion erupted, followed by a terrifying shockwave that spread in all directions.

Cassiopeia didn’t attack. She simply floated calmly in the air, her hair swaying from side to side in the wind created by the shockwave.

Draco’s body slowly grew larger. Two wings emerged from his back, followed by a pair of horns and four powerful legs tipped with sharp claws.

Shortly afterward, the four magic circles vanished, revealing Draco in his dragon form.

However, unlike usual, he had taken his true form this time. His body was long and serpentine, stretching twenty meters in length and standing ten meters tall.

The two wings on his back spanned thirty meters.

Roar!

His terrifying roar shook the forest below, leaving it in disarray.

Cassiopeia looked Draco up and down with an indifferent expression. She wasn’t afraid in the slightest, even after he had fully transformed.

After all, Draco was still weaker than her. That was an absolute fact...
