Chapter 1068: Draco’s Tragic Death
Chapter 1068: Draco’s Tragic Death
Boom!
The sky rumbled as a red dragon crashed into a beautiful purple-haired woman.
"You’re strong, but you won’t be able to defeat me, Cassiopeia!" Draco roared.
He soared higher into the sky before opening his mouth wide. A fireball began to form between his jaws.
Whoosh!
He hurled it toward Cassiopeia.
Facing the incoming attack, Cassiopeia didn’t even flinch. She simply waved her hand.
Slash!
The seven-meter-wide fireball split in two before exploding in midair.
Black smoke from the explosion swept over her, causing her hair to billow backward.
"Cataclysm!"
Buzz!
The sky darkened as a sphere of black energy appeared behind Cassiopeia. It then split into two, then three, and continued multiplying until there were twenty spheres.
"Charge!"
Whoosh!
The energy spheres shot toward Draco like bullets.
Draco didn’t dare let his guard down. He flapped his wings and tried to dodge them, but the purple energy spheres were much faster than him.
Realizing he couldn’t outrun them, Draco twisted his body and opened his mouth.
A fireball half his size formed between his jaws. He immediately hurled it at the incoming energy spheres.
Boom!
The fireball collided with the energy spheres, sending thick clouds of black and white smoke in all directions.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, two purple energy spheres shot through the thick smoke that filled the sky.
"Danger!"
Draco tried to dodge, but it was already too late.
Boom!
The two energy spheres struck his chest and tail, tearing open deep wounds in both places. Dark red blood poured from them.
Buzz!
A bright red light shone from both wounds. Slowly, the injuries began to heal.
But Draco’s rage had reached its limit.
Roar!
He let out a deafening roar.
Suddenly, thousands of fireballs appeared all around him. Their numbers continued to grow until they reached ten thousand.
With a powerful sweep of his tail, Draco sent all the fireballs hurtling toward Cassiopeia, who was still far away.
Cassiopeia didn’t panic. She pressed her hands together and whispered, "This time, I’ll show you the vast difference in our strength!"
Whoosh!
A purple light burst from her body. Five crowns—gold, blue, purple, black, and yellow—appeared above her head.
The crowns spun around her until the purple one descended and settled on her head.
Cassiopeia pointed her left palm downward and shouted, "Reflecting Mirrors!"
Fwoosh!
Hundreds of golden mirrors appeared on either side of her, each shining with a blinding golden light.
Suddenly, the ten thousand fireballs halted in midair before turning around and hurtling back toward Draco.
"W-What...!?" Draco was taken aback.
But he had no time to think. He quickly activated his body’s natural defense magic.
Boom!
The ten thousand fireballs slammed into his barrier, triggering a terrifying explosion.
Cassiopeia didn’t stand idly by. She twisted her right palm, causing the purple crown on her head to vanish and a black one to take its place.
"Chains of Rules!"
SRGGG!
Six mysterious portals appeared on either side of Draco.
"This isn’t good!"
Draco panicked and tried to escape, but it was already too late.
Five Chains of Rules shot out of the portals and rushed toward him.
The chains wrapped around his stomach, tail, head, wings, and legs, leaving him completely bound.
His barrier finally shattered. The remaining fireballs that hadn’t hit it slammed into his body, engulfing him in flames.
Cassiopeia watched from a distance with an indifferent expression.
"You’re strong, but your opponent is me," she whispered.
Cassiopeia wasn’t just stronger than Draco. Her abilities were also a natural counter to his. No matter how hard he fought back, he stood little chance of winning.
On top of that, Cassiopeia knew Draco’s fighting style, magical abilities, and habits inside out.
As the famous saying in one of Edward Layard’s books went, "Knowing your enemy is the key to victory, even if they’re far stronger than you."
Meanwhile, the smoke surrounding Draco finally cleared, revealing just how badly he’d been beaten.
His massive body was covered in wounds, with blood flowing from each one.
Black chains bound his entire body in midair, leaving him completely immobilized.
Cassiopeia stepped forward, and her body instantly turned into a shadow. In the blink of an eye, she appeared right in front of Draco’s massive form.
"Didn’t I tell you earlier? You won’t be able to defeat me," she taunted.
Draco glared at Cassiopeia with his blood-red eyes, his pupils filled with hatred and rage.
He hadn’t expected Cassiopeia to be this strong. No, deep down, he had already known. Cassiopeia was incredibly powerful, second only to Orion.
He knew that, but he simply couldn’t accept it. He wanted to prove that he was strong too, that he was just as powerful as she was.
But reality had finally caught up with him. He had lost, and he was far weaker than Cassiopeia.
His gaze shifted to the crown resting atop Cassiopeia’s head.
It was the Crown of Chains.
As one of the Constellation Mages, Cassiopeia’s power didn’t lie in transformation, unlike Draco, Phoenix, Hydra, and Corvus. Instead, her power came from her five crowns, collectively known as the Five Laws.
The first was the Crown of Silence. It allowed her to eliminate even the faintest sound within a radius of up to one hundred kilometers.
Not even telepathy could be used while Cassiopeia activated this power.
The second was the Crown of Chains. Its ability allowed Cassiopeia to summon the Chains of Rules, like the ones currently binding Draco.
The third was the Crown of Mirrors, followed by the Crown of Distance and the Crown of Domination. The last one was far more powerful than the other four.
The Crown of Domination allowed Cassiopeia to summon the Throne of Domination, giving her complete control over an area stretching two hundred kilometers.
Within that area, she could do as she pleased. If she wanted someone dead, that person would die.
"All right, the time has come. Goodbye, Draco."
Hearing that, Draco’s eyes widened in fear.
"W-Wait! Don’t kill me! I’ll tell you all the secrets of the Holy Empire of Valtanir! I swear! Please—"
Before he could finish, the black crown atop Cassiopeia’s head vanished, replaced by a golden one.
She clenched her fist. In that instant, Draco’s massive body began to shatter.
"Argh!" he screamed in agony.
His scream was so powerful that it swept away everything below him.
Cassiopeia felt no pity. She simply kept her fist clenched.
Draco’s body continued to shrink bit by bit until it was only two meters long.
She waved her hand, and in an instant, Draco’s head was severed from his body.
His head fell to the ground with a heavy thud.
One of the Seven Constellation Mages had finally fallen...
Cassiopeia remained where she was. Then, she turned and stared into the empty space before her.
"How much longer are you going to hide there, Phoenix?"
