Chapter 636: The Long-Awaited Chaos (1)

"All right, everyone. We’re about to begin the final and most important part of the party: the birthday cake cutting. Please make way for Princess Alina."

Upon hearing this, the young nobles immediately stepped aside and formed a circle.

Alina walked toward the center, where Melody, Gulvar, Aldrian, Seira, Meliodas, and Karakh were already waiting.

A servant pushed forward a trolley carrying a one-meter-tall birthday cake.

The cake was so large it nearly reached Alina’s head.

"Please, Your Highness."

The servant handed her a cake knife.

Alina accepted it and cut the cake under everyone’s gaze.

The young nobles applauded with joy.

Alina smiled and said, "Thank you all for coming. This party will be a precious memory for me."

She lifted both sides of her dress and bowed gracefully to everyone.

"Hahaha! You’re welcome, Your Highness. May you live a long life," a man responded politely.

"Indeed! It’s an honor to attend this party," a woman chimed in.

The others also offered flattering words to Alina.

Alina simply smiled and gave a slight nod. Of course, she knew their words were nothing but empty politeness.

There was no affection or sincerity—only hollow words without any genuine feeling.

But she didn’t care. She had long understood the human heart, so she wasn’t angry at all.

"By the way, Alina, this is a gift from me. Please accept it."

Gulvar stepped forward, holding a small box. When he opened it, a ring was revealed inside.

The ring was extraordinarily beautiful and captivating. It was light blue, with a faint shimmer across its surface.

At a glance, everyone present could tell how valuable it was.

"Thank you, Father." Alina smiled as she accepted the ring.

As she examined it more closely, she was surprised. This was no ordinary item but a highly valuable artifact.

The moment she wore it, her body felt lighter, and a sense of calm washed over her.

"You’re welcome. This ring is called the Blue Chros—one of the three precious artifacts from the Tower of Silence. I requested it from the head of the tower and paid a high price to obtain it. I hope you like it," Gulvar said gently, patting her head. "Do you like it?"

Alina nodded eagerly. "I love it!"

Karakh and Meliodas felt a hint of envy at the gift. Their father had never given them anything so valuable.

But there was nothing they could do. It was meant for Alina, their younger sister.

There was no way they could take it from her, especially in front of everyone.

"This is my gift."

Melody stepped forward and handed her a box.

Alina accepted it and opened it. Inside was a silver bracelet. At first glance, it looked ordinary, but Alina knew Melody’s personality—proud and arrogant.

There was no way she would give something so ordinary.

"Thank you, Mother," Alina said softly.

Afterward, Aldrian, Karakh, Meliodas, and even Seira presented their gifts to Alina.

The young nobles in attendance also gave her their gifts. They hadn’t come empty-handed; each had prepared something for her.

However, with so many guests, it was impossible for Alina to accept them all personally.

So, the servants quickly set up a large table, and the guests placed their gifts on it.

Meanwhile, Nolan was not among them. He had actually prepared a gift for Alina as well.

But she had asked him to give it to her personally after the party.

"Don’t you want to give the princess a gift? I thought you two were quite close."

A snide remark came from beside him. Without turning, Nolan already knew who it was.

"I’ve already prepared it, but I’ll give it to her personally later," he replied casually, sipping a glass of white wine. "What about you, Elsa? You haven’t forgotten your gift, have you?"

Elsa rolled her eyes. "How could I? I already gave it to her."

"You already gave it to her? When? I didn’t see it."

Nolan raised an eyebrow slightly.

Elsa froze as panic flickered across her face, but she quickly regained her composure and brushed her hair to the side.

"I gave it to her before the party started. It’s only natural you didn’t see it."

Her words weren’t convincing. Nolan narrowed his eyes slightly but didn’t press further and simply gave a vague nod.

"I see."

The atmosphere turned awkward. Elsa wanted to say something but didn’t know what to bring up.

Then, she remembered something and asked, "When will you be back, Nolan?"

Nolan swirled his wine glass, staring at its contents, then replied calmly, "I’m not sure. Maybe in a few days."

Everything had gone perfectly. Only one final step remained, and it depended on whether Meliodas could create enough chaos later.

"In a few days, huh?" Elsa nodded as if she understood. Suddenly, an idea came to her. "What if I go with you?"

Nolan froze and gave her a strange look.

"Go with me?"

"Mm! I’ve wanted to visit the Great Velmora Empire for a long time, but I never had the chance. Since you’re here, you can be my guide! What do you think?"

Her eyes sparkled with anticipation.

The corner of Nolan’s mouth twitched. This woman really had no shame, saying something like that to someone she had known for less than an hour.

Nolan shook his head and refused without hesitation. "Sorry, I can’t help you. If you want to come, then just go on your own."

He had no interest in being a free guide. His time was too valuable to waste accompanying Elsa.

"Eh... You’re so mean, you know? We’re friends, aren’t we? Come on, help me, okay? I’ll give you a gift later. I’m begging you..."

Elsa grabbed Nolan’s right hand and shook it playfully.

Her pitiful expression could melt any man’s heart in an instant.

Unfortunately, Nolan wasn’t an ordinary man. What kind of beauty had he not seen before?

Seira, Elina, Rafine, Sylvia, Kaede, and Evalyn were all examples of women with exceptional beauty.

Although Elsa was attractive and alluring, she was still a step below them.

So, his resolve wasn’t affected at all.

Elsa pouted in dissatisfaction. Just as she was about to say something, the lights in the hall suddenly went out.

Everyone, including Elsa, was startled.

"What’s going on? Is there another surprise?" someone asked curiously.

Only Nolan knew this wasn’t a surprise, but the beginning of chaos.
