Chapter 643: Memories of the Past

Chapter 643: Memories of the Past

"Huh? What... just happened?"

He didn’t even have time to process what was happening when another flash of light struck his neck.

His vision spun in an instant, and the next thing he knew, his head hit the floor.

Even at the very end of his life, he never understood that his death would come in such an unexpected way.

His comrades quickly noticed something was wrong. They turned toward him at the same time, only to freeze in shock.

Their friend was dead—his head severed cleanly from his neck.

Their gazes shifted forward. Standing there was a tall, handsome man with black hair. His purple eyes held a sharp, icy glare.

"You..."

One of them was about to speak, but his head was severed before he could even finish.

The other two met the same fate. Their heads rolled across the floor as blood burst out like a fountain.

Nolan casually waved his hand, and black flames erupted among the corpses.

In the blink of an eye, the lifeless bodies turned to ash and vanished.

He then turned to his wounded sister. Nolan immediately walked over, placed his right palm over her wound, and healed it.

The bleeding had been severe, but her life was spared.

"Good thing I put that token in her pocket. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have survived," Nolan muttered, letting out a long sigh.

He reached into the pocket of his sister’s gown and pulled out a black token, no bigger than his thumb.

Suddenly, the token cracked—then shattered into pieces. It was a life-saving talisman infused with his chaos power.

While they had been dancing earlier, he had deliberately slipped it into his sister’s pocket as a precaution, just in case something happened. Thankfully, that decision proved to be the right one. His sister was safe.

He gently lifted her into his arms, then shifted his gaze toward the unconscious Aldrian.

A cold glint flashed in his eyes, but it vanished just as quickly.

In the next instant, both he and Seira disappeared from the spot.

...

"Where am I? Why is everything dark?"

When Seira opened her eyes, darkness surrounded her. There wasn’t even the faintest glimmer of light, as if the shadows had swallowed her whole.

"Am I... dead?" she wondered.

Memories of Aldrian stabbing her earlier resurfaced in her mind.

She had never imagined Aldrian would do something like that to her.

But when she thought about it, the way she had treated him was the main reason he had finally snapped and acted so unexpectedly.

No matter how deep someone’s love was, it could still fade when it was never returned.

Even so, Seira didn’t regret anything. From the very beginning, she hadn’t felt even the slightest affection for Aldrian.

So she couldn’t truly blame him. She was only a little sad that she had to die so soon.

At least, in her final moments, she had been able to see her beloved younger brother.

Just then, a tiny speck of light appeared, like a firefly.

Seira flinched, and without even realizing it, her eyes followed its movement with quiet curiosity.

The light flew upward, growing larger and larger before exploding, instantly dispelling the darkness around it.

Seira quickly covered her face with her arms. A few moments later, the brightness began to fade, until it finally disappeared completely.

"Seira, what are you doing?"

A voice came from in front of her. It was so familiar that it made Seira’s heart jolt.

She turned her head and saw her father standing there, wearing a gentle smile.

He looked much younger than she remembered.

"Father?" she called out hesitantly.

For some reason, something felt strange. The man in front of her felt like her father from a time when she was still a child.

"Why are you so quiet? Did your mother scold you again?" Ragan asked softly, ruffling her hair.

"Scolded by Mother...?" Seira repeated the words in a daze.

Ragan only let out a deep sigh, then stood up and helped Seira to her feet.

At that moment, Seira realized her body had become smaller.

Shock and disbelief mixed together in her expression.

"Did I... go back in time?" she whispered, her eyes wide.

It was the only explanation that made sense.

"Alright, don’t take it too seriously. Your mother just can’t control her emotions sometimes. Oh, right—Isabella just gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. Do you want to see them?"

Ragan’s words stunned Seira once again. The opposite-sex twins he was talking about could only be Elina and Nolan.

Before she could even respond, Ragan had already grabbed her hand and pulled her toward Isabella’s room.

Upon arriving at Isabella’s grounds, they were greeted by Maya and Miya.

Ragan led Seira into the room, and she was stunned by the sight before her.

Isabella was lying on the bed. After giving birth, she looked exhausted, as if most of her strength had been drained.

Noticing their presence, Isabella slowly opened her heavy eyelids and smiled.

"Welcome. It’s nice to see you here, Seira. Would you like to see your two little siblings?"

Seira bit her lower lip and gave a stiff smile.

"They’re over there—just look. Both of them are still very fragile, so be careful when holding them, alright?"

Isabella pointed to her left. A medium-sized crib stood there, and inside it lay two adorable babies.

Ragan stayed beside Isabella to check on her, while Seira quietly walked over to the crib.

The twins were none other than Elina and Nolan.

Seira’s gaze fell on Elina first. The baby was crying loudly, her little body squirming restlessly.

There was no hair on her head, not even eyebrows, but it only made her look even more adorable.

Unlike Elina, Nolan was calm. He slept peacefully, as if nothing in the world could disturb him.

But as if he sensed her presence, Nolan’s eyelids fluttered before slowly opening.

His purple eyes, as beautiful as sapphires, looked almost unreal.

"Woaahh..."

A soft giggle escaped his lips as he waved his tiny hands toward Seira.

Without realizing it, Seira extended her index finger. Nolan immediately grabbed it, holding on tightly.

"Woaahh..."

"Hahaha! Looks like he really likes you, my dear," Ragan said with hearty laughter. "That’s so different from me. He always cries whenever I hold him, like he doesn’t want to be anywhere near me."

He let out a sad sigh, and Seira couldn’t help but laugh.

"Maybe it’s because you look scary, Father," she joked.

Ragan: "..."

"By the way, what are the names of these two little babies?" Seira asked as she played with Nolan, who kept smiling and giggling at her.

"Isabella has already named them. The girl is Elina, and the boy is Nolan."

"Elina and Nolan, huh? Those are beautiful names," Seira murmured, her smile widening.

She gazed into Nolan’s purple eyes with a gentle expression. Then a name suddenly surfaced in her mind.

"Nolan... Frey..."

Boom!

A thunderclap exploded overhead, startling Seira so badly that she flinched.

She looked around in panic, only to realize she was no longer in the room.

She was standing in a mysterious place. Darkness surrounded her, broken only by tall buildings with glowing lights on every floor.

Heavy rain poured down relentlessly, accompanied by thunder that seemed endless.

But the most terrifying sight of all was a wrecked black sedan, engulfed in roaring flames.

A crowd had gathered around the scene, yet for some reason, Seira’s body moved on its own toward it.

People instinctively stepped aside, making way for her.

When she finally reached the front, her entire body froze.

A man lay unconscious on the ground, his body badly mangled. Yet his face remained perfectly intact, and Seira recognized him immediately.

"Nolan..."
