Chapter 684: Landslide Victory (1)
Chapter 684: Landslide Victory (1)
Malverna raised her right hand. A black fireball formed in her palm.
The fireball was small, roughly the size of her hand, and it carried none of the overwhelming pressure the fire dragon had shown earlier.
Without much effort, she tossed it toward the charging fire dragon.
Seeing this, Thousand Faces burst into laughter. "How foolish!"
But in the next instant, his laughter froze.
The black flame he had dismissed collided with the massive fire dragon—and instead of being destroyed, it began to expand, devouring it.
Roar!
The fire dragon let out a thunderous roar that shook the surrounding air.
The black flame continued to consume its body, growing larger with every moment, until it completely swallowed the dragon whole.
Once the dragon vanished, the black flame disappeared as well.
Thousand Faces stood frozen in place, his face pale with fear and horror.
"H-How... is that possible!? What kind of black fire is that!?" he cried in panic.
That seemingly insignificant flame had devoured his fire dragon.
It was impossible—yet it had happened right before his eyes.
"Impossible?" Malverna smirked as she waved her right hand. "In this world, nothing is impossible. You’re just a petty mage studying the remnants of ancient spells. What do you really understand, hm?"
Her taunt made Thousand Faces tremble with rage. But before he could retaliate, Malverna’s lazy voice sounded again.
"Alright, enough. I’m bored. I’d rather relax in Elina’s shadow than keep dealing with you."
She then raised her left index finger.
A black ray shot from the tip of her finger and pierced Thousand Faces’ left chest.
The man froze in place. His eyes widened as he looked down, seeing the gaping hole in his chest.
"You..."
His words were cut off as excruciating pain surged through his entire body.
His skin slowly turned red, the change visible to the naked eye.
"Argh! It hurts! It hurts!"
He screamed in agony, frantically trying to cast a healing spell—but to no avail.
Buzz!
Black flames suddenly erupted from his neck and arms. They spread rapidly, devouring every cell and organ in his body, forcing him into unimaginable suffering.
Five minutes later, his body finally stopped thrashing. His skin had turned charred black, releasing a thick, nauseating stench.
A moment later, his body lost balance and crashed heavily to the ground.
Boom!
He slammed into the sand and lay motionless.
Thousand Faces, the figure who had once shaken the entire land of the Ancient Kingdom of Eron, had finally met his end.
Malverna shook her head. From the very beginning, she had never taken him seriously.
After all, the gap between them in age and experience was simply too vast.
To her, Thousand Faces was nothing more than a child still learning magic.
"Alright, time to go back to sleep."
With a lazy yawn, she transformed into particles of light and vanished from sight.

"Hyaa!"
"Argh!"
Three soldiers tried to attack Nolan, but strangely, they were knocked back before they could even touch him.
Nolan strolled casually toward them with a playful smile.
"What’s the matter? Haven’t had dinner yet?" he asked jokingly.
The three soldiers looked terrified and hurriedly backed away. Unfortunately, Nolan had no intention of letting them live.
They had targeted him and his older sister earlier. Now the tables had turned—he was the hunter.
Nolan swung his sword, severing the heads of the three soldiers in a single motion.
His expression didn’t change, as if it were just another ordinary task.
He turned toward the remaining soldiers and grinned.
"Now it’s your turn!"
The soldiers shuddered in fear. They had underestimated Nolan, thinking he was just a worthless, good-for-nothing prince.
Who would have thought... he had been hiding his strength all along.
But they were still trained soldiers. Quickly suppressing their fear, they charged at him once more.
Nolan merely smiled, then darted toward them without a shred of hesitation.
Meanwhile, the battle between Elina and Erkan grew more intense with each passing second.
Clang!
Their swords clashed, and in the next moment, both stepped back and immediately swung again.
Clang!
The swords collided again, producing a resounding clash.
"Hahaha! You’re truly amazing, Your Highness! I really underestimated you!" Erkan burst into laughter.
Although Elina had managed to land two strikes earlier, it had only been because he was off guard.
Now, he regarded her as a worthy opponent. There was no way he would let his guard down again.
"You’re not bad either," Elina replied casually, though the hand holding her sword trembled slightly.
She had to admit, Erkan was incredibly strong. He was probably on par with Luvistar or Uncle Luke.
His body was heavily built, and his strength far surpassed Elina’s. Fortunately, she had never neglected her training, allowing her to remain in peak condition to this day.
The two glared at each other. The next second—
Whoosh!
Clang!
Their swords clashed again, and in a blur, they vanished and reappeared two meters to the side.
Clang! Clang!
Their battle was so brutal that soldiers from both sides instinctively stepped back to avoid a meaningless death.
"Die!"
Erkan raised his sword and swung toward her face.
Elina quickly leapt aside, narrowly dodging the strike. But Erkan did not relent, immediately pursuing her.
Forced into defense, Elina could only continue evading.
Her position was unfavorable. If she wanted to turn the tide, she needed the right opening.
Suddenly, her eyes landed on the sand. An idea formed in her mind, followed by a faint smirk.
"Why keep dodging!? Have you become a coward, Elina Lorian!?" Erkan taunted as he continued swinging his sword.
Elina didn’t take the bait. Instead, she quietly began counting in her head.
"One... two... three..."
The more aggressive Erkan became, the greater her chance to turn the tables.
Perhaps growing irritated, Erkan suddenly quickened his pace and leapt forward, raising his sword high.
"Die!"
"Now!"
Elina scooped up a handful of sand and flung it straight into Erkan’s face.
"Argh!" Erkan cried out as the sand struck his eyes, his vision blurring and his balance faltering.
Seizing the opening, Elina moved behind him and kicked both of his knees, forcing him down.
In one fluid motion, she locked her arm around his neck and pressed her sword against his throat.
"Stop! Or do you want your leader to die by my hand!?"
The soldiers on both sides froze. All eyes turned to Erkan, now held hostage by Elina, the blade pressed firmly against his neck.
One wrong move, and he would die. The point where the blade rested was a vital spot, filled with nerves and dangerously exposed.
Seeing the enemy soldiers still gripping their weapons, Elina’s gaze turned cold.
"Drop your weapons. Or else..."
She didn’t finish the sentence. Instead, she pressed the blade slightly deeper, enough to draw blood.
"Argh!"
Erkan’s pained groan sent panic through his soldiers, and they quickly dropped their weapons.
Elina nodded in satisfaction. "Now, get down on your knees. No one moves, and no one schemes. Otherwise..."
A faint smile curved her lips.
"It won’t just be your general who dies—you’ll all follow him."
