Chapter 730: Leading the War (1)
"Hahaha! Give up, all of you! You’re just a bunch of weak, useless humans!"
Sitting atop his demon horse, Malgrion burst into laughter. His gaze was fixed on the human army lined up before him.
Their expressions turned grim. To be honest, they were terrified of facing Malgrion and his army.
They were ruthless—far more ruthless than the armies of other demon generals.
Moreover, the hero was currently unable to help. They weren’t sure they could win.
However, just then, a woman on horseback rode forward.
She wore silver armor, and her silver hair was tied in a ponytail, fluttering in the wind.
"Don’t get too cocky, you evil demon!" Evalyn snapped coldly. "Don’t think that just because you’re confident, you can trample on our spirit!"
Malgrion’s laughter stopped. He stared at Evalyn in astonishment.
"Where did this woman come from? And..." His eyes narrowed. "Is she leading the hero’s army?"
He had received intelligence that the hero had been wounded. That was why he had dared to bring his army to attack.
Unexpectedly, the hero’s army was now being led by a young woman of unknown origin.
A moment later, Malgrion burst into laughter again and pointed at the human army mockingly.
"Hahaha! Are you so desperate that you’ve asked a young woman to lead you?"
His mockery embarrassed the soldiers. However, there was nothing they could do.
Evalyn’s position as leader had been directly appointed by Roseline under the hero’s orders. They had no right to refuse.
Evalyn wasn’t angry at all. Instead, she looked excited.
Nolan had once said that fighting a vigilant enemy was far more dangerous than fighting one who underestimated you.
As much as possible, before the battle began, she had to prevent Malgrion from realizing her true capabilities.
"Fine, I don’t care." Malgrion chuckled. "It seems you’re already on the brink. But that’s good. Since you want to kill yourselves, I’ll help you make it happen!"
He drew his sword from his back. The weapon was large and long.
It measured a meter and a half in length, and its design was vastly different from ordinary swords. The blade was slightly curved, with three sharp edges capable of ripping through flesh and muscle upon impact.
"Everyone!" he shouted coldly. "Raise your weapons and attack!"
"Woaah!" The demon troops roared in unison, then charged toward the human army.
Evalyn was undaunted. She opened her left palm, and a golden sword appeared in her grasp—the Divine Sword of Luminus.
She raised it high and shouted, "Charge!"
"Woaah!"
The human army’s morale soared. Without hesitation, they charged into the demon army.
The war between the two races had officially begun...

"Pfft! How amusing. I told you Roseline had feelings for you, but you denied it. And now, after that guy named Nolan told you about it, you actually believe him."
A teasing voice, tinged with mockery, came from Rei’s left side.
Rei coughed awkwardly and explained, "I’m sorry. It’s not that I don’t believe you, but it’s hard to imagine Roseline having those kinds of feelings for me. But now that Nolan confirmed she’s my future partner, I can finally relax."
Back then, he was just an ordinary college student who had never been in a relationship.
Forget dating—he had never even held a woman’s hand. He had to admit, it was truly embarrassing.
That was also why he had been unsure whether Roseline’s attention all this time was simply concern for a friend or if she actually harbored deeper feelings.
But he had no doubts now. Roseline truly loved him.
"Well, whatever. Glad to see you’ve realized it." Luminus chuckled softly.
But suddenly, the sword trembled, and Rei immediately noticed.
"What’s wrong?"
Luminus fell silent for a few seconds before saying in a trembling voice, "I-I can feel my power! It’s coming from the battlefield!"
"What?" Rei’s eyes widened. "Wait! Evalyn is on the battlefield. It must be coming from her Divine Sword of Luminus!"
He hadn’t expected Evalyn to bring her sword with her. That meant there were two Divine Swords of Luminus in this era.
Rei turned toward the battlefield outside, where the fighting raged, and his expression grew worried.
"Evalyn... I’m sure you can do it!"

The battle was incredibly brutal. Neither the demon forces nor the human forces showed even the slightest sign of weakness.
Although outnumbered, the soldiers under Evalyn displayed no fear whatsoever.
But that made sense, given that they were the best of the best.
Meanwhile, in the middle of the battlefield, two figures were fighting fiercely.
They were Evalyn and Malgrion.
Malgrion was a large demon, standing two and a half meters tall. He was muscular and looked incredibly powerful.
Evalyn, on the other hand, was 1.7 meters tall. Compared to Malgrion, she looked almost like a child.
Clang!
Their swords collided, producing a sharp, piercing metallic sound.
"Hahaha! Give up, little girl! You don’t stand a chance against me!" Malgrion shouted arrogantly.
Evalyn remained unfazed. She continued aiming for Malgrion’s vital points, but the demon blocked every strike.
Clang!
Suddenly, Malgrion increased the strength of his attack, instantly sending Evalyn flying two meters away.
Evalyn spun in the air and landed safely.
"Hahaha! What’s the matter? Are you finally giving up? Hehehe... go on then. Maybe I’ll spare you and grant you an easy death. What do you say?" Malgrion offered with a wide grin.
Evalyn snorted coldly. "In your dreams!"
She hadn’t unleashed her full power yet. As the saying goes, "Don’t show your strength to an enemy who underestimates you."
From the recent exchange, Evalyn had already analyzed that Malgrion was the type of demon who fought brutally, without any technique whatsoever.
Although it seemed easy to defeat him, the reality was quite the opposite. Fighting an opponent who didn’t use technique was actually far more difficult than fighting those who did.
That was because the movements of someone fighting purely with brute force were far harder to predict.
For Evalyn, this was clearly a challenge. She had never fought someone like Malgrion before.
"Huff..." She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Then she swung her sword forward and grinned. "Don’t get too cocky. The fight isn’t over yet!"
Malgrion chuckled dismissively. But suddenly, his gaze fell on her sword—and he froze.
"That sword..." His eyes widened. "Isn’t that the Divine Sword of Luminus!?"
