Chapter 731: Fighting With the Demon General! (1)
"The Divine Sword of Luminus? How is that possible?" Malgrion’s eyes widened in horror.
His vigilance rose to its peak, and he took two panicked steps back.
The Divine Sword of Luminus was something demons feared. Even the Demon Emperor himself dared not treat it lightly.
That was because the sword contained a power capable of killing the Demon Emperor.
One demon general had already been slain by that sword, while another had been killed by the Dark Hero.
And now, he saw the Divine Sword of Luminus in Evalyn’s hands, leaving him both panicked and bewildered.
’What’s going on? How could that sword be in her hands?’
Blinded by the excitement of defeating the hero’s army, he failed to realize that the sword in Evalyn’s hand was the Divine Sword of Luminus.
However, he didn’t have time to dwell on it—Evalyn had already charged toward him.
Clang!
Malgrion raised his sword and blocked Evalyn’s swift strike.
Evalyn poured all her strength into the attack, catching Malgrion off guard and sending him flying three meters back.
Not stopping there, Evalyn leaped forward and raised her sword high.
"Take this!"
"Tsk!"
Malgrion clicked his tongue, spun his body, and swung his sword in a cross-shaped slash.
Clang!
The two swords clashed, producing a deafening metallic clang.
"Don’t underestimate me!" Malgrion growled.
He poured more strength into his blade, sending Evalyn flying upward.
Malgrion didn’t waste the opportunity.
He bent his knees and leaped after her, swinging his sword as he closed the distance.
"Die!"
Just as he thought his blade would strike Evalyn, something unexpected happened.
Evalyn twisted her body in midair and narrowly dodged the attack.
"W-What!?" Malgrion’s eyes widened in shock.
Before he could react, the Divine Sword of Luminus emitted a blinding light and slashed toward his arm.
Slash!
Malgrion’s left arm was severed, and black blood gushed out in a torrent.
Evalyn didn’t stop there. Using her body weight, she kicked Malgrion’s massive body.
Whoosh!
Malgrion shot through the air like a cannonball before slamming heavily into the ground.
Dust and smoke exploded outward, blanketing an area nearly two meters wide.
Evalyn landed not far away and smiled faintly.
’Just as I thought... against someone with no fighting style, a simple feint is enough,’ she whispered.
Earlier, she had deliberately put herself in a vulnerable position. As a result, Malgrion took the bait and attacked without realizing it was only a feint.
’But this still isn’t enough. This demon’s body is as hard as iron,’ she muttered, tightening her grip on her sword and pointing it forward.
As the dust and smoke cleared, Malgrion’s figure came into view. The massive demon was revealed with his left arm severed, black blood still pouring from the wound.
"Incredible... truly incredible. I underestimated you," Malgrion said in a deep voice.
He slowly stood up with a calm expression, as if the injury meant nothing.
Then he picked up the severed piece of his arm and pressed it back into place. To Evalyn’s shock, the flesh fused together, and his arm was perfectly restored.
Evalyn’s eyes widened. "What an unbelievable healing ability!"
Normally, a wound like that would require a high-grade potion—or something even rarer.
But the demon before her shattered her expectations. He could reattach his arm simply by pressing it back onto the severed stump.
"Surprised?" Malgrion grinned. "Well, anyone who doesn’t know me would be shocked to see that. By the way, I have a rather famous nickname: the Eternal Demon. I cannot die—not even at the hands of the heroes themselves. So..."
His grin widened. "I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed, because you can’t defeat me."
"The Eternal Demon..." Evalyn repeated softly.
The name was arrogant and overbearing. She didn’t know whether the nickname was true or just empty boasting.
However, after seeing how easily Malgrion had healed his wounds earlier, it seemed the title wasn’t without reason.
’This is going to be a tough fight,’ she muttered, taking a deep breath and slowly exhaling.
Her evaluation of Malgrion had changed drastically. If she had once considered him an A-rank threat, she now regarded him as SS-rank.
"I don’t understand how you can wield the Hero of Light’s sword," Malgrion said in a mocking tone. "But I don’t care. Whether it’s you or the hero, both of you will die today!"
Buzz!
A black aura erupted from his body. The energy surged into the sky, forming a four-meter-tall tornado.
Evalyn raised her sword to block the shockwave.
But before she could react further, Malgrion suddenly appeared right in front of her.
He raised his sword with a wicked grin.
"Die!"
Evalyn’s eyes widened, and she quickly swung her sword upward.
Boom!
An explosion erupted, and the shockwave spread outward for twenty meters.
Smoke and dust rose from the ground, sweeping in all directions.
Evalyn managed to block the attack, but the ground beneath her crumbled, forming a crater nearly twenty centimeters deep.
"Hahaha!" Malgrion burst into laughter and kicked Evalyn in the stomach.
Caught off guard, Evalyn was sent flying fifty meters away.
Not stopping there, Malgrion vanished and instantly reappeared right behind her.
"Gotcha!"
Just as his massive sword was about to cleave into Evalyn’s back, she twisted her body midair and narrowly dodged it.
"Oh? Interesting!"
Malgrion spun around and swung his sword at Evalyn, who had just landed.
Evalyn’s eyes widened, and she hurriedly leaped back.
Boom!
The huge blade crashed into the ground where she had stood moments ago, carving out a two-meter-deep crater.
"Tch! You’re as nimble as a worm. So annoying!"
Malgrion raised his sword. Demonic energy gathered along the blade before he swung it forward.
Slash!
A wave of demonic energy shot toward Evalyn.
Seeing this, Evalyn didn’t dare lower her guard. She swung her sword to the side and whispered, "Hero Technique: Lightning Movement!"
Zzzrh!
Her body turned into a bolt of lightning and vanished, then reappeared twelve meters away.
Malgrion didn’t stop. He continued unleashing demonic energy slashes.
Zzzrh!
Zzzrh!
Evalyn vanished from one spot to another. Her speed was so fast it became invisible to the naked eye.
Annoyed, Malgrion thrust his sword into the ground and bellowed, "Destroy!"
Demonic energy erupted from his body, surged into the blade, and blasted the ground beneath him.
The explosion spread like a spider’s web. Everything within a fifty-meter radius was shattered, and chunks of earth were flung into the sky, forming a massive cloud of dust.
"Where are you?" Malgrion scanned his surroundings warily.
His previous attack had been an area-of-effect strike. By all logic, the woman should have been caught in it. But she was agile and cunning.
There was no way she had been hit so easily.
Suddenly, he felt a cold breeze brush against the back of his neck.
His eyes widened, and before he could even turn around, Malgrion heard a faint slicing sound near his throat.
Startled, he reached up and touched his neck, feeling something warm.
When he looked at his hand, his eyes widened in shock.
It was blood—his blood.
Scrk!
His vision spun violently, and in the next moment, he saw something impossible.
His own headless body was still standing there.
"Huh?"
