Chapter 757: The Strongest Being vs Singularity of Chaos (2)
Demon Emperor Zerathos glared at Nolan with intense hatred.
Ever since ascending the throne, no one had ever dared to insult him so openly.
He took a deep breath before replying coldly, "Don’t get too excited. I haven’t even gotten serious yet."
He raised one hand high and called out, "Hellscar!"
BOOM!
The sky darkened once more as purple clouds spiraled together, forming a massive vortex overhead.
BOOM!
Red and black lightning tore across the sky, as though the world itself was on the verge of collapse.
Then, from the center of the vortex, a small star-like light descended at terrifying speed.
As it drew closer, its true form became clear—a black sword.
The moment the sword landed in his hand, Demon Emperor Zerathos swung it casually to the side.
BOOM!
In an instant, the ground within a two-hundred-meter radius split apart. It wasn’t just the earth—even the air itself seemed to crack, followed by a deafening explosion.
Nolan stared at the sword in shock.
"What a crazy weapon..." he muttered.
The sword was nearly one and a half meters long. Its blade was pitch black, with faint glowing lines running across it.
Its shape was nothing like a normal sword. The tip was razor-sharp and slightly curved.
Near the hilt was a living eye that blinked from time to time.
This was the first time Nolan had ever seen such a horrifying weapon.
Zerathos pointed the tip of the sword toward Nolan and said coldly, "It’s been a long time since I last used the Demonic Sword, Hellscar. And you..."
A grin slowly spread across his face.
"Will be the first to witness its true power!"
He lowered his stance before bursting forward. In the blink of an eye, he appeared five meters above Nolan and swung the sword downward vertically.
"Die!"
SLASH!
A slash of demonic energy shot toward Nolan at terrifying speed.
Nolan didn’t dare lower his guard. He quickly clasped his hands together and shouted, "Earth Magic: Golem Hands!"
BOOM!
Two giant stone hands, each three meters tall, rose from the ground beside him. They slammed together and blocked the incoming slash.
But in the very next second, both hands were shattered to pieces.
Nolan’s eyes widened in shock. Just before the slash could reach him, his figure vanished and reappeared thirty meters away.
BOOM!
The demonic slash tore through the ground where he had been standing, leaving behind a deep, jagged trench dozens of meters long.
Nolan stared at the destruction in awe.
"What a terrifying attack..." he muttered.
Fortunately, he had dodged in time. Otherwise, his body would have been split clean in half.
SLASH!
SLASH!
Demon Emperor Zerathos unleashed another flurry of slashes.
Nolan shot into the air, twisting his body mid-spin and barely dodging every single one.
"Is that all you’ve got!? Hahaha! How disappointing!"
Demon Emperor Zerathos plunged the Hellscar sword into the ground and roared, "Shadow Fang Ascension!"
SHRAKK!
Hundreds of massive black fangs burst from the earth and shot toward Nolan.
Nolan continued leaping and dodging, but the fangs moved as though they possessed minds of their own, relentlessly chasing him wherever he went.
"Fireballs!"
Nolan conjured hundreds of fireballs and hurled them toward the giant fangs.
BOOM!
A massive explosion obliterated the fangs, but in the next instant, they regenerated and surged toward him once more.
The unprepared Nolan was struck directly by one of them.
"What!?" His eyes widened in shock.
He tried to teleport, but another fang pierced his ankle before he could escape.
The searing pain made him groan, but the attack still wasn’t over.
Dozens of other fangs caught up and impaled his entire body—from his abdomen through his chest, all the way up to his head.
Nolan’s body hung in the air in a grotesque state.
Demon Emperor Zerathos grinned widely, then stomped his foot on the ground.
CRACK!
Nolan’s body instantly got blown apart, pieces flying everywhere as his organs scattered in all directions.
The sight was enough to make anyone feel nauseous—but not Demon Emperor Zerathos.
"Hahaha! I overestimated you! So this is all you’ve got!" he burst out laughing.
This was exactly what he’d been expecting.
The Demonic Sword, Hellscar, was a cursed heirloom passed down through generations of demon rulers.
Its power was beyond question.
Even if Nolan was strong, there was no way he could defeat Zerathos while he wielded that sword.
"Oh? Is that so? What a pity... I’m not dead yet."
A calm voice echoed from above.
Zerathos froze in place. With stiff, rigid movements, he looked up and saw Nolan floating in the air, completely unharmed—without a single scratch on his body.
"W-What!? How is that possible?" he staggered back in fear.
Nolan chuckled softly, then slowly descended, landing on the tip of one of the fangs that had just pierced through his body.
"Surprised? Well, that’s understandable. I’ll give you this—your strength is pretty impressive, especially with that demonic sword. But that’s all there is to it. You’re no threat to me at all," Nolan said with a playful sneer.
Demon Emperor Zerathos gritted his teeth in anger.
"In that case, I’ll show you my full power!"
He raised his sword, then drove it back into the ground and roared, "Seven Pillars of Hell!"
THRUMM!
The ground shook violently as seven black pillars erupted from beneath the earth.
Each pillar towered dozens of meters high, engraved with different demonic symbols.
Zerathos clasped his hands together and commanded, "Do it!"
The seven pillars immediately burst into brilliant light, forming a barrier that trapped Nolan inside.
"Burn!"
WUZZ!
Blue and red flames erupted from the pillars, engulfing Nolan inside the barrier.
"Hahaha!" Zerathos laughed loudly, about to speak again when Nolan’s calm voice drifted from within.
"Is that all? Oops... I forgot to mention something. I’m immune to fire. In fact, fire is my strongest element."
BOOM!
The seven pillars exploded apart, bursting into a rain of fragments.
Demon Emperor Zerathos’ eyes widened in shock.
"H-How is that possible!?"
The Seven Pillars of Hell was a forbidden technique of immense power—once trapped inside, escape should have been nearly impossible.
But right in front of him, Nolan not only broke out of it—he straight-up destroyed it.
It made no sense.
Still, Zerathos snapped back fast. He drew his sword and swung it to the side.
Bending both legs, he charged straight toward Nolan.
Since all his long-range techniques had failed, there was only one option left—close combat.
Seeing Zerathos coming in, Nolan didn’t show even a hint of fear. He clenched his fist and met him head-on.
BOOM!
Fist and sword slammed together, blasting out a massive explosion.
Both of them got sent flying hundreds of meters back, but they quickly steadied themselves and charged right at each other again.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Each clash sent violent shockwaves through the ground, cracking and crumbling the earth beneath them.
"Die!"
Demon Emperor Zerathos swung his sword vertically, but Nolan managed to parry it with his fist.
Then Nolan drew his right arm back and struck Zerathos in the stomach.
Demon Emperor Zerathos was caught off guard and tried to dodge, but it was already too late.
BOOM!
His body was blasted high into the sky. But Nolan had no intention of letting him escape.
He stomped the ground, raised his left hand, and slowly curled his fingers.
"Void: Gravity!"
Zerathos’s body, which had been launched away, suddenly halted midair. As if seized by an invisible force, it was dragged back toward Nolan instead.
Demon Emperor Zerathos panicked and tried to break free, but it was all in vain.
"Argh!"
A groan of pain escaped his lips as Nolan’s hand clamped tightly around his neck.
Zerathos clenched his teeth and glared at Nolan.
In that instant, his body froze. Nolan’s eyes had changed.
No longer their usual purple hue, his pupils now formed the shape of a sun—and a star.
