The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 761: Departure for the Western Continent

Chapter 761: Departure for the Western Continent

Hearing that question, Nolan looked slightly surprised.

"Change history?" He pondered it for a moment before shaking his head. "No, that won’t happen. Nothing you or I do will change history at all. The future we come from is already a foregone conclusion. So you don’t need to worry."

Evalyn let out a sigh of relief. The worry that had been weighing on her vanished in an instant.

"Thank you," she said softly with a gentle smile.

Nolan returned the smile. Then, as if remembering something, he reached into his pocket and handed a round token to Evalyn.

"Take this. Don’t leave it behind, and definitely don’t lose it. It will help you," he warned.

Evalyn accepted the token and immediately thought of the handkerchief that had once saved her life.

She wanted to say something but held it back.

"Thank you. I’ll keep it."

She clenched the token tightly, as if she would never let it go.

She trusted Nolan. The handkerchief she had secretly taken from him had saved her once, so this token must serve the same purpose.

She did not know why Nolan had never explained it.

"Could it be that he’s too shy to admit it?"

That was the only explanation she could come up with.

Without realizing it, a meaningful smile appeared on her lips, but she quickly hid it.

After exchanging a few more words, they stepped out of the tent and walked toward the soldiers who were already waiting.

Rei was there, along with Roseline and a tall, imposing man.

The man had a cold, expressionless face, framed by short gray hair that made him stand out from the others.

He wore heavy jet-black armor, with a sheathed black sword hanging on his back.

With his tall, imposing build, he looked extremely intimidating.

Upon seeing Evalyn, Roseline and Rei both smiled.

"Thank you for coming, Warrior Evalyn. We appreciate your assistance," Rei said politely, clasping his hands together.

Evalyn quickly understood that everyone was playing their assigned roles. She cleared her throat slightly and nodded.

"Thank you for the opportunity, Your Highness, Princess and Prince of Light. I hold a grudge against the Demon Emperor and his forces, so being given the chance to destroy them..." she said, her expression filled with rage. "It is something I have long awaited!"

Her backstory was that of a village girl who had lost her family to a demon army attack.

Roseline had already briefed her on the details, so she was fully prepared to act.

"Good! I’m glad to hear that," Roseline said, patting her on the shoulder. "Today, we will attack the Demon Empire’s fortress and bring them down!"

Evalyn’s gloomy expression brightened, as if those words were exactly what she had been waiting to hear.

"So you’re Evalyn, the famous female warrior from the Central Continent, right?"

Lucas’s cold voice came from beside her.

The tall man stepped forward and stopped right beside her.

"If Rei and Her Highness Roseline say you’re famous, I’ll accept it. But before that..." His eyes narrowed sharply. "Why have I never heard your name?"

Facing his intimidating presence, even Evalyn, who had prepared herself, felt a sudden tension.

Unlike Rei, who carried a relaxed demeanor, Lucas truly looked like someone indifferent to the world.

Coupled with his towering, imposing frame, he looked like a fearless killing machine.

"I-I..."

Evalyn was about to speak when Nolan’s casual voice sounded from behind her.

"Does it matter whether you know her identity or not?"

Evalyn’s body was gently pulled aside, and Nolan stepped forward to face Lucas.

Lucas was indeed tall—standing at 1.95 meters. However, Nolan was not short either; he stood at 1.97 meters, slightly taller than Lucas.

Standing face-to-face, the two appeared evenly matched, neither giving the other the upper hand.

Lucas furrowed his brow. Nolan looked like an ordinary man, but his instincts told him otherwise—this man was dangerous.

"Boss, don’t let him provoke you. I can sense a dangerous aura from that guy."

A trembling voice echoed in his mind.

Lucas immediately recognized the owner of the voice—the Dark Sword of Eclipse.

"How strong is that man?" Lucas asked in a low, heavy voice.

"I don’t know... but compared to you, he is far stronger."

That answer shocked Lucas. His intimidating demeanor immediately shifted into high alert.

He stared warily at Nolan’s relaxed expression and did not dare act rashly.

Even the Dark Sword of Eclipse regarded that man so highly, which meant Nolan was not someone he could face right now.

"Alright, stop arguing."

Rei stepped between them and separated the two.

"We should focus on planning the attack instead of fighting among ourselves."

He shot Lucas a meaningful glance.

He was not worried that Nolan would get hurt—instead, he was concerned Lucas might be the one injured.

Besides, Nolan was too mysterious. He could not even begin to grasp his true depth.

Lucas looked away and walked off without offering even a hint of an apology.

Nolan watched his back with a faint smile.

’So, that’s the reason for his defeat against Rei,’ he muttered.

Now he understood why Lucas had lost in the battle for Roseline’s heart.

From his attitude and demeanor alone, the man was already irritating. Nolan could tell Lucas was the arrogant type who believed the entire world revolved around him.

For someone like that, there was only one path ahead—loneliness.

In the end, everyone had their own selfish tendencies. When people encountered someone with an overly inflated ego, they naturally tended to distance themselves.

Once things had calmed down, Rei and Roseline quickly began coordinating their forces for the journey to the Western Continent.

The journey to the Western Continent was estimated to take up to a month.

And since they were bringing fifty thousand troops, the journey would take even longer—possibly three to five months.

They clearly could not afford to wait that long.

Therefore, leveraging her status as a princess, Roseline requested assistance from the imperial family to deploy Celestial- and Sage-level mages.

With their help, reaching the Western Continent would be effortless.

"Alright, everyone! We’re heading to the Western Continent to attack the Demon Empire’s fortress!" Rei declared, raising the Divine Sword of Lumius high into the air.

"Woooah!" the soldiers cheered enthusiastically, and the atmosphere instantly ignited with their blazing spirit.

Seeing this, Rei nodded in satisfaction. He turned toward Roseline, who immediately returned his gaze with a small nod.

Shortly after, the two Celestial mages, supported by the Sage mages, began casting their spells.

A massive magic formation took shape beneath Rei and the others’ feet.

Evalyn looked toward Nolan standing in the distance and waved.

Nolan smiled and gave a small nod in return.

Whoosh!

In the blink of an eye, Evalyn, Rei, Roseline, and the soldiers vanished from sight, leaving the campsite in silence.

Nolan watched their departure calmly and muttered, "Once everything is settled, Evalyn and I will return."

He raised his gaze to the sky and murmured softly, "This journey... has truly been worth it."
