Chapter 817: First Meeting with Chloe
Chapter 817: First Meeting with Chloe
"Henry Zahart from the Kingdom of Norvin?"
Nolan looked slightly surprised. "The Kingdom of Norvin on the Western Continent, right?"
"Oh? You’re quite knowledgeable, my dear little brother." Seira smiled as she patted his shoulder. "That’s right. The Kingdom of Norvin is located on the Western Continent and shares a direct border with the Dragon Sky Empire."
Nolan furrowed his brow. Taking a glass of wine from a passing server, he took a sip.
"So, what were you two talking about?"
Seira took a sip of her own wine before answering, "Not much, but it was quite interesting. We ended up talking about technology in this world."
"Technology?" Nolan’s eyes widened slightly. He looked into his sister’s eyes. "Can you tell me more about it?"
Seira then recounted her conversation with Henry, including his views on the world and technology.
"Something like that. Do you think—"
Her words came to an abrupt stop when she noticed how tightly Nolan was gripping his wine glass.
"What’s wrong?"
Nolan snapped out of his daze and smiled gently.
"Nothing."
He took another sip of wine before saying, "That man named Henry is very interesting. If I get the chance, I’d like to exchange ideas with him."
"Right? I think he’s really interesting too!" Seira nodded with a smile.
Nolan remained silent, his gaze fixed on the red wine swirling in his glass.
"Henry Zahart... How could he know about modern technology?" he muttered.
Cars, motorcycles, and anything related to electricity simply didn’t exist in this world. There was only one plausible explanation—Henry was a reincarnator, just like him.
"Interesting... very interesting," Nolan whispered, a cold glint flashing across his eyes. "I didn’t expect there to be someone else from the modern world. This world is becoming more and more mysterious."
He didn’t know why Henry had told Seira about modern technology, but one thing was certain—that man had now caught his attention.
He would observe him carefully and decide whether Henry was someone worth befriending... or someone who needed to be eliminated.
"Everyone, thank you for coming to this welcome party."
A woman stepped onto the small stage at the far end of the hall.
She was breathtakingly beautiful. Her long black hair fell to her shoulders, while her pink eyes were both captivating and mesmerizing.
She wore a loose purple dress that did little to hide the graceful curves of her figure.
As soon as the guests saw her, they bowed their heads slightly in greeting.
Nolan looked at her and gave a faint smile.
"Chloe... So, we finally meet again," he whispered.
Unlike Sylvia, Chloe rarely appeared in public. As a result, very few people knew her or had ever seen her in person.
"As you all know, it’s time for the ten-year competition between the Falling Star Academy and the Tower of Silence. Of course, it’s only a friendly match. Neither side intends to bring the other down, but I hope all participants give it their all," Chloe said calmly.
The students from both sides nodded. At the same time, they exchanged hostile looks, each wanting to prove they were the better side.
Afterward, Chloe said a few more words before stepping down from the stage.
The party officially began. Students from the Falling Star Academy and the Tower of Silence began helping themselves to the food.
"This is so delicious! I want this one too! Oh! This one’s amazing!"
Eira happily stuffed her mouth with food, moving from table to table.
The nearby students couldn’t help but stare at her in surprise.
After all, Eira looked like a child no older than four or five. Yet the amount of food she was eating was enough to leave anyone speechless.
"That’s insane! Whose kid is that? She eats more than I do!" a male student exclaimed.
"I have no idea. But she’s so adorable. For some reason, I feel sorry for her. Her parents must be really cruel if they let her go hungry like that."
The students’ whispers reached Rafine, who was standing nearby.
The corner of her mouth twitched. If they knew Eira was a dragon baby, she doubted they would still think that way.
"Rafine," Nolan called out.
Rafine turned around and froze for a moment when she saw Nolan approaching.
The Eastern-style robe suited him surprisingly well, making him look even more refined and handsome than usual.
"Nolan? You..."
Her gaze swept over him several times, as if making sure he was really Nolan.
"What? Do I look weird in these clothes?" Nolan asked with a teasing smile.
"N-No, it’s not that."
Rafine quickly looked away.
"It’s just... you seem so different from before."
"Different? How?" Nolan asked playfully.
Rafine’s face flushed. She didn’t have much experience complimenting a man’s appearance.
"Well, it’s..." She bit her lower lip before speaking honestly. "You’re much more handsome. Your noble aura is also much stronger. It feels as though you’re a completely different person."
Her voice gradually softened, and the tips of her ears turned red.
Nolan chuckled softly. It was rare to see Rafine acting so shy.
"You’re very beautiful too, Rafine," Nolan said.
"Huh? Me?" Rafine was caught off guard.
"It’s true." Nolan nodded as he looked her up and down.
"That dress suits you perfectly. It brings out your charm even more. I’m sure plenty of guys have been secretly looking at you."
He glanced around and noticed many male students, as well as guests from other kingdoms, stealing glances in Rafine’s direction.
Rafine became even more embarrassed. Although she had received countless compliments about her beauty, hearing them from Nolan felt different.
"Sorry to interrupt, but can I join you?"
The sudden voice caught both Rafine and Nolan by surprise.
They turned at the same time and saw a beautiful black-haired woman walking toward them.
Every step she took carried a graceful charm that was difficult to describe.
"Headmistress?" Rafine exclaimed in surprise.
Nolan narrowed his eyes slightly but remained composed.
"Good afternoon, Headmistress," Nolan greeted politely.
Rafine also bowed her head slightly.
Chloe smiled and nodded in response.
Her gaze briefly swept over Rafine before settling on Nolan. Beneath it lurked an overwhelming storm of emotions, as though it could consume anyone who met her eyes.
Goosebumps rose on Nolan’s skin. That gaze contained anger, obsession, hatred, love, and countless other emotions tangled together.
Any doubts he had vanished completely. He was now certain that Chloe still remembered their past encounter.
"Your name is Nolan Lorian, isn’t it? It’s a pleasure to meet you."
With a gentle smile, Chloe extended her hand.
"This is my first time meeting you in person. Sharon has spoken about you many times. Now that I’ve finally seen you, I can tell everything she said was true."
Nolan glanced at her outstretched hand before reaching out his own. The moment their hands touched, a faint electric sensation ran through his body.
"Mhmm..." Chloe let out a meaningful chuckle.
Nolan took a deep breath and tried to pull his hand away, but Chloe didn’t let go. Instead, her grip tightened slightly.
"By the way, Your Highness," Chloe said, her eyes gleaming with meaning, "do you have a moment? There’s something I’d like to ask you. It concerns your older sister."
