Chapter 823: Jisha vs. Sharon (2)
"Root Arts: Thousand Root Prison!"
Whoosh!
Thousands of roots burst out of the ground. They shot toward the pollen-releasing roots and wrapped around them.
Sharon clenched her right fist. Instantly, the roots shattered into pieces.
"What!? Root Arts? How can you use it too?" Jisha exclaimed in shock.
Sharon slowly descended with a faint smile on her face.
"Did you think you were the only one who could use Root Arts? I can use it too," she said proudly.
"Ugh..." Jisha gritted her teeth in frustration.
No one had told her about this, and that was a huge oversight.
The spectators were stunned by what they were seeing. Both of the most talented girls from their respective institutions had mastered Root Arts.
And judging by their performance, both seemed to have reached a very high level of mastery.
Sylvia frowned.
"Who would’ve thought? Sharon Lorian managed to master it too. The Falling Star Academy really knows how to keep their trump cards hidden," she muttered irritably.
"Pfft! Why do you look so annoyed? Isn’t it natural for gifted students to hide their strength and surprise everyone?"
A teasing voice sounded beside her.
Sylvia turned and saw Chloe approaching gracefully.
Chloe sat down beside her and casually crossed her legs.
"Where have you been?" Sylvia asked.
She had been looking for Chloe all over the academy earlier, but there was no sign of her. Even the professors and the others didn’t know where she’d gone.
"It’s a secret."
Chloe placed her index finger against her lips.
Sylvia’s brows furrowed slightly. Still, she was too lazy to press the matter and turned her gaze back to the arena.
But then, her nose suddenly twitched. She turned back to Chloe and asked suspiciously, "That scent... it’s Nolan’s, isn’t it?"
Chloe’s expression stiffened for a moment. She shot Sylvia a cold glance.
"How did you know?"
Sylvia narrowed her eyes.
"That’s not what you should be asking. What were you doing with him? Don’t tell me you went to see him earlier."
The two stared at each other, and the atmosphere instantly grew tense.
Boom!
The sound of an explosion from the arena drew their attention. They turned at the same time and saw Sharon regaining the momentum of the battle.
Boom!
Dozens of palm-sized fireballs rained down like a meteor shower.
Jisha could only leap out of the way. Then, she slammed the tip of her staff into the ground.
Sjrkk!
Two three-meter-long roots burst from the ground and shielded her.
Boom!
The fireballs slammed into the roots, burning them to ashes.
But Jisha was nowhere in sight.
Sharon quickly looked around in surprise, but Jisha was nowhere in sight.
"Where did she go?" she muttered warily.
Whoosh!
A sudden sense of danger came from her right.
Sharon spun around and barely dodged the attack.
Boom!
Five water spears suddenly crashed into the barrier with tremendous force.
Sharon glanced to the side and saw Jisha floating not far away, a wide grin on her face.
"Heh, a sneak attack. Not bad," she muttered.
Sharon didn’t stay still either. She spun her staff, and a purple magic circle appeared before her.
Krash!
Hundreds of lightning bolts shot out of the magic circle.
Jisha was startled and quickly teleported away.
But the lightning bolts seemed to possess homing capabilities. They relentlessly chased Jisha wherever she went.
The situation had completely reversed.
Jisha gritted her teeth. She cast numerous earth and water spells, but none of them worked. Lightning was strong against the four main elements except fire.
Unfortunately, Jisha was quite weak at controlling fire magic.
In the main stands, Nolan smiled and shook his head.
"Jisha will lose," he said calmly.
Rafine and Seira frowned. However, neither of them argued.
Judging by the situation, Jisha was indeed at a disadvantage.
And sure enough, right after Nolan said that, Jisha’s face turned pale. Her mana was starting to run dry.
Realizing she had no other choice, Jisha raised both hands.
"I give up."
Hundreds of lightning bolts that were about to strike her stopped right in front of her face.
Sharon waved her staff, and they instantly vanished.
"The winner is Sharon Lorian from the Falling Star Academy!"
As soon as the announcement was made, the students of the Falling Star Academy erupted in cheers. Meanwhile, the students of the Tower of Silence could only sigh in resignation.
Sharon didn’t leave right away. She walked over to Jisha and held out her hand.
Jisha took it, and Sharon pulled her to her feet.
"Good job," Sharon said softly.
"You too," Jisha replied with a smile.
The two then left the arena together.
Seeing that, the students from both institutions gradually let go of their hostility.
After all, the top students from each side had become friends. There was no point in holding a grudge against each other anymore.
"Phew! That turned out pretty well."
Rafine let out a sigh of relief and patted her chest. She had been worried that Sharon might lose, even if the chances were slim.
"Want to come with me?" Seira asked as she stood up.
Rafine guessed where she was headed and nodded.
"I’ll come."
Seira glanced at Nolan, who shook his head.
"No, I’m not coming. You two go ahead."
Seira said nothing and left with Rafine.
"Master, where are they going?" Eira asked curiously.
Nolan patted her head.
"They’re going to see Sister Sharon."
"Oh..." Eira nodded and didn’t ask any more questions.
Just as the two were relaxing, the sound of footsteps came from the side.
"Your Highness, the Tower Master would like to see you. Do you have a moment?"
Nolan looked up in surprise. The voice belonged to a female student from the Tower of Silence.
"Sure. Where is she?"
"Please follow me."
Nolan nodded. He gave Eira a pat on the head and said, "Don’t run off anywhere. I’ll be back soon."
"Mhm! Eira will stay right here and wait for Master!" Eira replied obediently.
Nolan smiled in satisfaction. He stood up and walked away with the female student.

A small garden sat in the academy’s backyard, with two chairs and a table. It was completely deserted except for Sylvia, who was sitting alone.
Sylvia sipped her tea calmly. Suddenly, a mocking voice came from in front of her.
"Drinking tea while your student loses. Just as expected of you, Tower Master."
Sylvia was a little surprised. She opened her eyes and saw Nolan walking toward her.
"It’s not that I’m being mean, but her loss was pretty much inevitable. After all, her strength and experience are nowhere near your sister’s," she replied casually, without the slightest hint of anger.
Nolan simply smiled. He sat down across from Sylvia and asked, "So, why did the Tower Master call me out to a quiet place like this? Don’t tell me..."
A teasing smile appeared on his lips.
"You want something from me?"
Sylvia’s body stiffened.
"Y-You..." she growled angrily.
Nolan chuckled softly. He picked up the teapot, poured himself a cup of tea, and took a sip.
"You’re still as uptight as ever, Tower Master—or should I call you Sylvia?"
Sylvia froze. Her eyes widened, and her mouth opened and closed as if she wanted to say something but couldn’t.
Nolan’s smile widened as he casually asked, "Isn’t that why you called me here?"
