The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 834: Meeting an Old Friend

Chapter 834: Meeting an Old Friend

"The Singularity of Chaos?" Great Sage Dawn exclaimed in shock.

That figure was unmistakably the Singularity of Chaos—the one who had destroyed Halveran City as easily as flipping his hand.

He had never expected that figure to appear before them, even if it was only an avatar.

"Welcome, Singularity of Chaos," Great Sage Morecle greeted, cupping her hands together.

"Welcome, Singularity of Chaos!" the other Great Sages echoed.

Great Sage Arcana’s face turned pale. Her breathing grew heavy, and cold sweat soaked her back.

It had never crossed her mind that the Singularity of Chaos would appear before her.

Just moments ago, she had challenged Sylvia and even accused her. She didn’t know whether the Singularity of Chaos had heard any of it. But if he had, the consequences would be severe.

It wasn’t impossible that the Tower of Silence would also be dragged into it.

The Singularity of Chaos nodded slightly. Whether deliberately or not, his eyes flicked across Great Sage Arcana.

Great Sage Arcana’s anxiety hit its peak. She was so nervous she couldn’t stop trembling.

Great Sage Dawn forced down the turmoil in his heart and looked up at the Singularity of Chaos.

"Singularity of Chaos, were you the one who requested those valuable materials?" he asked, though he already knew the answer.

The Singularity of Chaos gave a slight nod.

"That’s right. I’m the one who requested those materials. Do you have a problem with that?"

His voice was calm yet carried an unmistakable pressure.

Great Sage Dawn felt his body tense. He was an expert who had reached the peak of the Celestial Mage realm.

He was only waiting for the opportunity to break through to the Beyond the World level.

Yet even at that level, he sensed danger from the voice alone.

"Just how powerful is the Singularity of Chaos?" he wondered inwardly, fear creeping into his heart.

A being of that caliber was someone he should never make an enemy of unless he was prepared to die.

Suppressing his anxiety, he forced a stiff smile and replied nervously, "O-Of course not, Singularity of Chaos. Please don’t misunderstand."

A faint smile appeared on the Singularity of Chaos’s face.

"Don’t worry. I won’t take your belongings for free. I’ll repay you."

After saying that, the avatar slowly dissolved into smoke.

The Great Sages let out a sigh of relief. His mere presence had been enough to make them tremble with fear.

"Do you believe me now?"

Sylvia’s teasing voice snapped the Great Sages out of their daze.

Great Sage Dawn let out a deep sigh and nodded.

"I believe you. Go ahead and give everything to the Singularity of Chaos. His goodwill will be our best investment."

Even if he wanted to stop it, doing so would be no different from offending the Singularity of Chaos.

It was better to hand the materials over and build a good relationship with him. At the very least, they could benefit greatly from it in the future.

Great Sage Arcana could only look away, not daring to meet Sylvia’s gaze.

Sylvia chuckled softly and said nothing more.

...

"Checkmate. You lose, old man."

Nolan moved his pawn beside the opponent’s king.

"Damn it! How are you so good, you little brat? I’ve already lost to you several times."

The old man scratched his head in frustration.

Nolan burst out laughing at his reaction. He took a sip of tea while casually swinging his legs.

"Just admit it—you’ll never beat me, even after another thousand years, old man Orrun."

Orrun let out a long sigh. Leaning back against the sofa, he grumbled, "Have you been hiding your true skill all this time? I remember that a thousand years ago, I managed to beat you once."

"Pfft!" Nolan chuckled. "Back then, I was just letting you win. If you kept losing every single game, wouldn’t that get boring? You probably wouldn’t want to play with me anymore."

He shrugged.

Orrun rolled his eyes in exasperation, but there was nothing he could do. Nolan was indeed a chess master, and he had no choice but to admit it.

"By the way, you still haven’t explained something to me, kid. How did you end up in the era from a thousand years ago?"

Nolan smiled. "Time travel."

"Time travel?" Orrun’s eyes widened in shock. "W-Wait... How is that possible?"

Time travel was impossible. Creating a space-time portal that connected to the past required an immense amount of energy.

Even Orrun wasn’t sure the Singularities were capable of doing it.

Nolan shook his head. "To be honest, I don’t know. I just sensed a fluctuation coming from the Lionheart family’s treasure room. At first, I thought Rei Lionheart had left it behind, but after thinking it over, that’s impossible. He doesn’t have that kind of ability."

During this time, Nolan had been pondering the mystery of that space-time portal.

Come to think of it, Rei wasn’t powerful enough to create it. Nor were the Singularities. Even Nolan, who was highly confident in his control over space and had some mastery over time, wasn’t sure he could do it.

However, he had a few suspects, like the Sun God, the Goddess of Life, and several other gods.

Only they were capable of defying the absolute laws of this world.

"So that’s how it is..." Orrun nodded without asking any further questions. A meaningful smile, however, appeared on his lips. "Even the Singularity of Chaos doesn’t know the answer. That’s quite surprising."

The cup in Nolan’s hand trembled slightly, but only for a brief moment.

"How do you know?"

"Pfft!" Orrun chuckled. "Kid, I’ve lived for over a thousand years. I’ve also studied every kind of magic from ancient times to the present. What haven’t I seen? The magic you used to appear out of nowhere was clearly not teleportation. It uses space itself as a medium. Am I right?"

Nolan couldn’t help but be impressed.

"You’re really perceptive, Old Man. I underestimated you."

Orrun rubbed his nose proudly.

Nolan chuckled before reminding him, "But don’t reveal my identity, okay? I’m still enjoying the fact that no one knows who I really am."

Orrun waved a hand.

"Don’t worry. I’m not that cruel. I’ll take that secret to my grave."

"But you’re a dwarf, Old Man. You’ve still got hundreds of years left to live. I might die before you do," Nolan teased.

"Jerk!"

Orrun cursed in annoyance, but the next moment, the two of them burst into laughter.

Their bond went far beyond that of ordinary friends. Calling them best friends wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

"So, what are you planning to do with the materials you asked Sylvia to gather?" Orrun asked, his expression turning serious.

A portal connecting two worlds belonged to the category of forbidden magic. At least in this world, no one except Orrun and Nolan could cast it.

Of course, this spell was far more refined and practical than the one the Great Sages had used in the past to summon Rei and Lucas.

Nolan lowered his gaze to the black tea in his cup.

Gently swirling it, he answered, "Of course... I’m going back to my old home..."
