The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 983: Healing Malverna

Chapter 983: Healing Malverna

"How is that possible? The monster is dead... just like that?"

Obsidia swallowed hard. She knew Nolan was strong, but she hadn’t realized he was that strong.

Arnold took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.

He knew Nolan better than anyone and should have had a good idea of how powerful his master was. Yet, the scene before him completely changed his perspective.

The Singularity of Chaos was incredibly powerful—so powerful that Arnold felt like nothing in its presence.

Flugar was even more surprised. Besides being a Grand Master and an advisor to the Eron imperial family, he was also a true lover of magic.

Nolan was his goal. He wanted to master the power of space and time just like Nolan, though he knew his chances were slim.

Nolan slowly descended before raising his right hand.

A crystal orb shot out from the pile of the unicorn monster’s flesh and fell into his palm.

"The Pearl of Life," he whispered with a faint smile.

Turning toward the three of them, he commanded, "Let’s head back."

...

Five kilometers from the Island of Silence, dozens of giant ships sailed toward it.

A burly man pointed toward the island and laughed heartily.

"Hahaha! That really is the Island of Silence!" he exclaimed. "We did it! We’re going to be rich!"

His crew laughed along with him.

"Thank you, Troy! Thank you!"

The captain hugged the middle-aged man standing beside him—the one who had reported the appearance of the Island of Silence to him.

"You’re welcome, Captain Brean. We’ll get rich together," Troy replied with a broad smile.

At first, no one believed him, but he managed to convince Brean and the others that the island really existed.

Fortunately, they gave him a chance to prove it, which had led them to where they were now.

After their initial excitement faded, the captain ordered the helmsman to steer toward the island.

The sea route was extremely dangerous. Numerous whirlpools churned across the water, and the thick fog made it hard to see.

They had to be careful not to run into trouble.

But suddenly...

Boom!

A massive explosion erupted beside them, startling Brean, Troy, and the rest of the crew.

They turned their heads at the same time and saw one of the nearby ships explode.

"W-What’s happening!?" Brean cried out.

Before he could process what was happening, another explosion erupted to their right and behind them.

Two more ships exploded and sank, taking dozens of crew members with them.

"A monster attack? Or the enemy!?"

Brean tried to consider the possibilities, but none of them made sense.

Whoosh!

A giant magic circle appeared above their ship.

By the time they looked up, it was already too late.

Boom!

A black meteor came crashing down from the sky and hit their ship. The sea, which had been lively just moments ago, suddenly went quiet.

The fog covering the twenty-kilometer area returned, blocking their view of the outside world.

...

"Woah! They just died like that!" Obsidia exclaimed in amazement.

Nolan stared indifferently at the shipwreck in the distance.

"It’s their own fault for coming to this island without the token. Entering it without one is obviously impossible," he commented, shaking his head. "Alright, let’s go."

Whoosh!

The four of them turned into mist and vanished from sight.

...

The Land of Death...

The Land of Death was one of the demon race’s territories.

Since the demon race’s defeat, most of its lands had been conquered by the dragons and humans.

However, there was one region they had failed to conquer: the Land of Death.

As its name suggested, the land was barren and desolate. As far as the eye could see, there was nothing but darkness and bitter cold.

No plants could grow there because the soil lacked nutrients. Only one plant could survive in such an environment: the Devil Eyes.

They resembled black eyes that could move and blink.

At that moment, Nolan was walking through the center of the Land of Death, carrying Malverna in his arms.

Obsidia, Flugar, and Arnold followed behind him.

"This land hasn’t changed in a thousand years," Arnold remarked.

Obsidia nodded in agreement.

"You’re right. The air is still just as suffocating as it used to be."

"Oh? So, you two have been alive since the war against the Demon Emperor Zerathos?" Flugar asked curiously.

"Yes." Arnold nodded slightly. "Didn’t I tell you about it before?"

"No. I thought you lived five hundred years ago, but I guess I was wrong."

Flugar shook his head.

Arnold smiled and began recounting his experiences to Flugar.

Nolan simply listened without saying a word. In fact, humanity and the dragon race had achieved victory because of his unintentional intervention.

But Nolan didn’t really care about that. After all, history had erased his and Evalyn’s existence from everyone’s memories.

They finally reached the edge of a dark and silent abyss.

There was nothing there but terrifying darkness.

"This is the place," Nolan said as he gently laid Malverna’s body on the ground.

"Step back, all of you."

The three of them nodded and quickly moved away.

Nolan looked at Malverna, then crouched beside her and smiled gently.

"I’ll revive you soon. But it’ll take some time. Until then, I’ll be waiting for you."

He gently stroked her soft face.

His relationship with Malverna had been pretty strained at first. She was incredibly arrogant and annoying.

But as time passed, things between them got better. Without realizing it, they had slowly come to trust each other.

Although Malverna had never openly admitted it, Nolan could feel it.

After all, he and Malverna were bound by a master-servant contract, so he could naturally sense all her emotions.

Nolan reached into his pocket and placed the pearl on her body.

He stood up, took a few steps back, and formed a complex hand seal.

Whoosh!

A gigantic magic circle appeared in the sky, stretching five kilometers across.

In the next instant, the demonic power covering the entire Land of Death began flowing toward the abyss.

Buzz!

The Pearl of Life glowed brightly. Malverna’s body slowly rose into the air and floated at the center of the abyss.

The gathered demonic power rushed into her body at an incredible speed.

"This..."

Obsidia’s eyes widened in shock.

"He’s controlling the demonic power!? How is that possible?"

Demonic power could only be wielded by the demon race. Neither humans nor dragons could control it.

Yet, Nolan had somehow managed to do so. It made absolutely no sense.

"No, my lord isn’t controlling the demonic power," Arnold said in awe. "Don’t you see that magic circle?"

He pointed toward the gigantic magic circle in the sky.

"That’s not an ordinary magic circle but a spatial lock covering the entire area beneath it. In other words..."

A broad smile spread across his face as he continued in awe.

"He’s manipulating the power of the devil by utilizing his control over space..."
