The Innkeeper

Chapter 1890: Eureka

Chapter 1890: Eureka

As soon as Lex healed, he looked up at the orange cloud of cosmic dust and felt like cursing it out. Was there really a need to rain on his parade like this? When he became Earth Immortal, he went through so many levels all on the same day. But with this freaky tribulation hanging over his head, he dared not act so lightly.

Lex was about 90% sure this particular type of tribulation was only occurring because he was in the Primordial Garden, which meant if he wanted to avoid them in the future, he just needed to experience a tribulation outside. Of course, Lex would never do that. Why would he run away from a harder experience? More hardship meant more reward.

It was just that next time, he would be more prepared. Even now, with the tribulation causing him so much trouble, Lex did not think of escaping it. For one, he was pretty certain that even if he escaped to the Midnight Inn, the tribulation would follow. After all, he wouldn’t be the first person to try and use long distance teleportation to escape a tribulation. Not only would that not work, it would make the tribulation worse.

He needed to improve - all his focus was towards that for now.

Lex looked away from the clouds and became more serious. Since he was in the Primordial Garden, there were a few things he could use that had a hint of Primordial Energy to perhaps expedite his growth. The first was the Gabana fruit. The second... was a corpse.

A light flickered through Lex’s eyes as he considered his options, finally choosing the fruit. He would avoid dealing with the corpse for now if possible - he had a bad feeling about it.

Lex did the old trick and put the Gabana fruit inside the Gift shop for a split second, setting up a price and high Prestige requirements to buy it for extra assurance that it wouldn’t be accidentally bought.

Gabana fruit

A fruit from the Gabana tree which can only grow in areas with rich Primordial energy. If the fruit pit is planted in Primordial energy rich soil for 1,333,333 years, it can produce a Dao level herb called Gabranthis. If the whole fruit is planted in Primordial energy rich soil for 13,333,333 years, it can produce a Dao tree sapling called Gabel.

If the fruit is planted in the core of a newborn realm, it can permanently double the growth of the realm, allowing it to reach maturity faster. If the fruit is planted in the core of a realm that is already maturing, it has a 90% chance to produce a special biome that nurtures valuable treasures matching the biome’s environment.

If a Demi-Dao Lord consumes the Gabana fruit, they will experience the Thousand Year Dream, increasing their chances of completing their Dao by 1%.

If the Dragon race eats the Gabana fruit, they have a chance of evolving into a Golden Dragon.

If the pit of the fruit is obtained by a mature Galactic Sovereign turtle, they can use it to nurture a Forbidden Forest.

If a Phoenix eats the fruit...

If a Celestial...

If a Primal...

If a Deity...

If a Mythical being eats the Gabana fruit they have a chance to evolve into a false Primordial!

If a Primordial eats the Gabana fruit they can instantly heal all wounds, elevate their cultivation if they are below Dao Lord, gain new abilities, unlock the ability to absorb non-Primordial energy, and the ability to continuously cleanse their body of impurities.

If a non-Primordial, non-Mythical, non-Demi-Dao Lord race consumes the Gabana fruit their soul will be eviscerated, turning into extremely potent fertilizer.

"Well shoot," Lex muttered as he read the description of the fruit, even as he held it in his hands. That was... one overpowered little fruit there. No wonder a certain Dao Lord had bothered to steal it. In fact, it was quite amazing that he had just given it to the Innkeeper like that.

Either he really wanted to get inside the Primordial Garden, or he was extremely rich, to the point where something like this did not interest him.

But while that Dao Lord was not interested, Lex most certainly was. The issue, then, was that he was not fond of having his soul eviscerated. If the fruit were of a lower level Lex wouldn’t have cared and would have just eaten it. But with the extensive description of the fruit, to the point where it could help Demi-Dao Lords, help realms and help countless powerful races evolve, it was clear that this fruit was at a level Lex had never interacted with before. It was in a league of its own.

That said... why would Lex need to eat the fruit to benefit from it?

Lex hugged the fruit as if it was a long lost lover, covered it with his spirit sense, and began absorbing all the energy contained within it through its peel. His cultivation technique began to cycle smoothly, and a warm, nourishing energy entered his body. Unlike the Primordial energy from the tribulation which burned him, this one was genuinely helping him out!

Lex’s body began to strengthen as the nurturing energy did not spread out across his entire body, but instead only nourished the parts of his body fused with the Amber Chaos Resin. If Lex could claim that 1% of his body was made up of Dao ingredients, then the energy from the fruit was slowly turning that into 2%.

What’s more... the amount of energy in this fruit was immense. He could feel it. He wouldn’t be able to...

"Eureka!" he suddenly exclaimed.

Lex suddenly stopped cultivating, let go of the Gabana fruit and gently placed it on the ground. Then, like a proud mother hen, he sat down on the fruit and began to cultivate. Considering the size of the fruit, it was like he was sitting on a bean bag.

Until he found himself a respectable cultivation mat, the fruit would have to do.
