Chapter 1892: Professor William

When the next tribulation fell, Lex was in much better condition. Two days of cultivating on the bean bag- no, eh, of cultivating on the Gabana fruit allowed Lex to grow much stronger. The aid was even greater than what the tribulation provided which was quite ironic, and yet it also made sense.

After all, the tribulation was specifically designed for him, whereas the Gabana fruit was dealing with Dao stuff. Basically, for Lex, the Gabana fruit was just enhancing whatever benefits Lex had gotten from the Amber Chaos Resin so in truth, his improved strength was just a side effect of something far greater.

But Lex had no qualifications to do anything related to the Dao, so for him, this inadvertent benefit became the main focus.

When his next tribulation came, Lex took a risk and used his Lotus form. One would assume that this form was the ultimate one since it could endlessly absorb energy, but that was false. If the energy was more overbearing than what Lotus could handle, it would be harmed instead.

Unfortunately, even as a Heaven Immortal, Lex could not use Lotus’ ability to use energy to create matter. However, he could more or less stay in his Lotus form indefinitely now. Based on that, Lex guessed that by the time he was a peak Heaven Immortal or an early Celestial, he’d be able to finally use that creation ability.

In this form, he fought against the tribulation strike that appeared in the form of a golf cart. Lex never thought he’d see the day where a golf cart did more damage than the collapse of a star, but he saw it anyway.

The Lotus form was great for absorbing energy, but the energy from a tribulation strike could not be so easily absorbed, causing Lex to suffer numerous injuries all across his body. If one were to see him, it would almost seem like he had suffered countless explosions from within his body.

Regardless, he survived, and when the nurturing energy came, the Lotus form finally showed what it was really worth. Since Lex was able to barely support the absorption of this particular Primordial energy, the Lotus form made it effortless. Not only did he absorb it easily, he fused with it much quicker than before - not to mention Lotus borrowed some of the energy for himself to experiment with.

Lotus even absorbed a whole bunch of ambient Primordial energy too. This way, it would slowly figure out how to make all this energy itself!

Somewhere in the back of his mind, Lex heard what sounded like a baby doing an evil laugh.

He ignored it and kept cultivating.

Fortunately, it seemed like he wouldn’t be able to use up the Gabana fruit any time soon. Lex did not want to rely on the Primordial corpse hidden inside the gem he got from Pelvailin’s dragon lair. He didn’t even want to wonder why a Primordial corpse would end up in the Origin realm, and he had purposefully not looked into it either.

He had too much stuff on his plate - as always - and he didn’t want to end up encountering a juicy mystery and then be unable to investigate it because he was out hosting guests and slaying bad guys.

Like that, the days slowly passed by, eventually turning into a couple of weeks before he was finally faced with the 18th and last tribulation strike. If he had survived, it was literally only due to the Gabana fruit, so he should thank Wu Kong for that one.

As for the damn benefits of the tribulation... sure, there were some, but they just pissed Lex off! He transformed into a High Human. That didn’t mean much for him at all considering how OP he was, except that his natural lifespan had increased exponentially - something an immortal did not really need. Yet because of it, Lex basically grew backwards in physical maturity!

He was just beginning to grow a little stubble on his chin, but it had now disappeared and he looked even younger! He even almost grew that weird moustache that 13 year old boys get. Fortunately, he had enough control over his body that he reverted all the changes and regained his mature and amazing appearance of a 25 year old.

Sure, technically speaking he was stronger and better at controlling laws, but Lex was too pissed to care about that. This was totally a rip off. If he had to transform, he should have become a Primordial human or something. What was up with this High Human scam?

Unfortunately, he had no one to vent his anger on, so he targeted it all towards the final tribulation strike.

"Welcome to aura farming 101 with Professor William," Lex said as he drew Naraka, and let the new and improved Domination loose. "Step 1: overwhelm your opponent while making it look effortless."

The final tribulation strike had the misfortune of taking the shape of a volcano, but pointed downwards at him. Didn’t Heaven know that Lex was a professional volcano whisperer?

As if in response to Lex, the orange cosmic dust rumbled, before causing a massive explosion, shooting its erupting magma straight towards Lex.

"Volcano Slayer Style: Splitting Mountain!" Lex roared, although technically no such technique existed. He was just back to his shenanigans again now that death was no longer hanging over his head.

What he did do was tap into the causality of him overcoming volcanoes and lava throughout his life, and use that as a basis to enhance the strength of his sword strike. That was the kind of stuff Heaven Immortals could do - apparently.

Alright, truthfully, Lex didn’t really check if that’s how Heaven Immortals were supposed to use Relational Laws - he just did it that way himself!

Lex turned around even before his strike connected with the magma, walking away. Behind him, or well, technically above him, the swordstrike cleaved the eruption apart, as well as the volcano, causing a massive explosion.

The force of the explosion struck Lex’s back and threatened to burn his clothes away - if only he was wearing clothes! In truth, his body was covered in an illusion that looked like clothes. After all, he couldn’t let burned clothes and nudity affect his aura farming!
