Chapter 2029: Newfound Power
Chapter 2029: Newfound Power
Rex looked down at his new body and couldn’t help but crack a smile.
One that brazenly showed his confidence as his body was now overwhelmed with power—and it made him feel like he could take on the entire universe and win. Rex has certainly achieved another big step towards invincibility.
Another step closer to creating a peaceful world that would last for eternity.
<Congratulations on evolving and establishing the Greater Lycan race!>
<All powers associated with the Grand Royal Black Werewolf bloodline are merged and retained within the Greater Lycan bloodline!>
<All weaknesses inherited from the Grand Royal Black Werewolf bloodline have been erased!>
<All stats have been increased significantly!>
<Obtained the Supreme Versatility Mutation passive skill and Lycanthrope skill!>
...
<Supreme Versatility Mutation>
Rank: Origin (Upgradeable)
Description: A passive skill that was birthed from the perfect fusion of human and werewolf bloodlines. It was forged through the convergence of multiple sources of power that were never meant to coexist. No longer a hybrid and no longer torn between forms, the Great Lycan bloodline represents the perfect unity of flesh, gene, and spirit. The body has adapted beyond its original limits, becoming a versatile vessel capable of wielding any energy with terrifying proficiency.
Output of all direct powers increased by 300% and indirect powers by 150%. Mastery over existing or new energies increased by 100%. Energy efficiency of all direct powers increases by 20% and indirect powers by 10%.

<Lycanthrope>
Rank: Origin (Upgradeable)
Description: Gain access to the Lycan Form. When activated, the body undergoes a metamorphosis that sharpens every instinct and amplifies fundamental physical strength twofold. This transformation is highly stamina-demanding. While in this form, all energies under the user’s command are forcibly fused and refined into a single, unprecedented energy called the Primordium Energy.
It’s a new breed of energy exclusive to the Greater Lycan race, unbound by conventional systems. The Primordium Energy possesses the unique property of transforming into virtually any energy in existence, allowing the user to adapt and maximize depending on the situation with the exception of divinity, curse energy, pure chaos energy, and immortal energy.
...
Rex read through the two innate skills that he obtained from the Greater Lycan race.
Considering the bloodline evolution process earlier, he knew that his energies were being combined one after the other to create another form of energy. The evolution had been an agony beyond any pain—he had ever endured.
A crucible of tearing flesh, shattering bone, and energies colliding in his soul like warring worlds.
But now, feeling the quiet, coiled power thrumming in his limbs, he knew it had been worth it.
Every scream and every deadly sensation were worth it.
Both new skills that he obtained—the Supreme Versatility Mutation and Lycanthrope—were far beyond anything he had predicted. The first skill tripled his output, doubled his mastery, and also optimized his energy consumption.
It was the foundation of something greater.
But the second skill, Lycanthrope, was the true crown.
It fused every energy he commanded into one: Primordium Energy. A new, unknown force exclusive to his race, capable of mimicking any of his existing powers. Kingly energy, moonlight energy, red force, arcane mana—the primordium energy could transform into all.
Rex could use his weakest element with the force of his strongest.
That meant no more relying solely on his werewolf abilities to kill.
As long as the Lycan form is active, even his fire element could erase Demigods from existence.
Anyone who learned about what he could do would most likely vomit blood, as this was power unlike anything that the universe has ever seen. The very first, as he was now no longer a human and a werewolf like he always had been.
Now, he is the Greater Lycan Origin.
Rex looked down at his own body, studying the form he had just become.
"So, this... this is the Lycan Form. A body that has never existed before until this moment."
A smile crept to Rex’s face.
Curious about its strength, he raised his hand and cast Sky Rupture—one of his weakest lightning spells.
He emptied his mind and focused on his body, focused on the new primordium energy that coiled inside him as it had always been there from the start. It was cool and obedient, moving with a fluidity he had never felt before.
Most of his energies were hostile—red force burned, arcane lightning crackled with rebellion, kingly energy demanded dominance. But the primordium energy was docile. Patient. It waited for his will, and when he commanded, it answered without hesitation.
Like its sole purpose was simply to follow his lead.
But even though it was docile, it was far from being weak—it was miraculous.
And with seamless precision, the primordium energy transformed.
In an instant, it became arcane lightning mana—but denser, purer, infinitely more powerful. Above him, the endless dark expanse of the weakened Sovereign Realm began to churn. Cumulonimbus clouds that stretched far and wide materialized from nothing, devouring the sky.
It spread from horizon to horizon like the coming of an apocalypse.
But they were not natural clouds.
Rumble—!
Just then, the air trembled violently, thick with static, and Rex felt his fur rise along his entire body. He was the cause of this phenomenon—and yet he couldn’t believe what he was feeling. His instincts that were honed through countless battles screamed.
A warning that caught him off guard.
As if there was a God-like entity preparing to strike him down.
Not too far away, Aylith and Lilliana looked up.
Both of them were marvelling at Rex’s new form—sensing the fundamental change within him. One that clearly showed that he had transformed into another species entirely. And his power skyrocketed to the point of being spooky.
Such an increase in power was scary for a Demigod to do.
And now, Rex was showing a glimpse of his new power.
Before their minds could wrap around what was happening, the cumulonimbus clouds split open.
CRACK—!
A black lightning strike descended. Massive beyond reason. A pillar of destruction so vast it threatened to shatter the entire moon. And the thunder that followed was horrifying—it was no longer a sound, but a physical blow.
Rex’s eardrums popped, causing him to recoil and shake his head.
On the other hand, Lilliana’s eardrums ruptured and blood trickled from her ears as the shockwave tore through her body like a battering ram. The lightning moved faster than natural lightning—faster than thought, tearing through space and the already fractured dimensional fabric of the realm.
It screamed downward, a spear of absolute annihilation.
And for one terrible moment, the entire sky seemed to collapse behind it.
Blitz—!
Splash!
Before it could reach Rex, it fizzled out and dissipated.
But even then, the impact that was created from the sudden stoppage was cataclysmic.
The black lightning exploded into countless arcs that spread across the moon’s surface like the veins of an angry world. Chasms split open. Moonstone vaporized. The ground beneath him buckled—and the entire realm groaned as if the sky itself had been wounded.
Underneath their feet, the moon’s surface turned black—scarred by the sheer force of the lightning.
Rex stood at the center of it all, untouched. His crimson eyes burned with realization.
This power... My lightning element has never been this strong.
His pupils dilated—and he sucked in a cold breath as the sky above him writhed. Its once- black expanse was now a tornado of clouds that seemed to resist the very pressure from the Sovereign Realm, and in between the swirl, he saw cracks in reality like a fractured mirror.
Of course, he had seen power this strong before.
In the heat of battle, he could match this level of power even before becoming the Greater Lycan.
However, there was one shocking thing that swirled inside Rex’s mind.
And that is the fact that this scar was left behind by his weakest lightning spell.
The Sky Rupture is merely a Great Spell.
Above it, there was still the Sky Rupture Assortment, the Sky Imprisonment, and even Ether Blink.
Rex could not even imagine what would happen if he used any of those to test out his newfound energy. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that doing so would only hasten the process of Realm Degradation, causing the Great Pale Court to collapse even faster.
Moreover, casting the Sky Rupture barely scratches my energy pool. I’ve gotten way stronger.

...
Rex stared at the new stats window, his eyes tracing the numbers as if they belonged to someone else.
The figures were foreign, almost unrecognizable. His body had changed—he had felt it in every fiber, every breath—but seeing it laid out in cold, hard digits was something else entirely. His physical stats had roughly tripled.
Strength. Agility. Endurance. All of them had surged to heights that would have been unthinkable before the evolution. His body had been a weapon. Now—it was a cataclysmic crisis. One that was starting to be more and more suitable for a God-killer.
But it was the intelligence stat that truly stole the breath from his lungs.
Tripled. His intelligence had tripled alongside the others. The number gleamed on the interface, steady and impossible. Rex’s jaw tightened, his crimson eyes narrowed—as if the System might be playing a cruel joke.
Throughout his entire ascent to power, his intelligence stat had always lagged behind.
It was the one attribute that refused to be rushed—the one that demanded ranks or priceless treasures to nudge it forward. He had accepted it as an unchangeable law of his growth. Physical strength could be forged in battle. Intelligence could not.
And yet, here it was. Matching his physical growth. Keeping pace with the other monstrous stats.
All because of the Supreme Versatility Mutation.
It had to be.
That passive skill had done more than optimize his energy. It had rewired the very architecture of his mind, allowing his intellect to scale alongside his body. For the first time—his energy was as dangerous as his claws.
A slow breath escaped him, and the corner of his mouth twitched.
Not stopping at that, more notifications flickered into view, stacking one after another.
He let the stats window fade. But the shock lingered, humming in his veins like a second heartbeat. He had always been dangerous because of his deadly close-range attacks. Now—he was dangerous from every distance.
And that, more than any stat, terrified him—and thrilled him—in equal measure.
<Connection to the Goddess of the Greater Moon detected.>
<Blessing of the Greater Moon has arrived!>
Rex looked down at his body—and saw silver steam coming out from his skin, riling up his moonlight energy and also his kingly energy. A pleasant sensation that was close to bathing under the moon—and judging from the surprise on Aylith’s face, this wasn’t her doing.
It was the System drawing in the Greater Moon’s power.
Exactly like how it stole Kaiser’s power.
<Notice: the user has obtained the Greater Moon Blessing passive skill and the Moon Calling skill!>
Before Rex could check them out, more notifications appeared.
<All members of the Silverstar Pack would gradually morph into the Greater Lycan race.>
<Be sure to develop the user’s bloodline further to quicken the process.>
<Congratulations for achieving another step closer to Invincibility!>
"Why thank you, System." Rex’s lips curled into a devious smile. "I wonder how those bastards would react when they felt how strong I’ve become in a matter of days. I’m sure it’s going to be priceless."
