The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 2030: Fruitful Trip

Chapter 2030: Fruitful Trip

Rex scanned the description for both the Greater Moon Blessing and the Moon Calling.

He drilled the information contained within the descriptions into his mind and closed them, pleased with what these two would provide for him. Skills that would most certainly come in handy later on—when the Purgation Duel started.

Still more than enough time to return and strategize.

Even though the time was tight, Rex was able to complete what he wanted to complete.

In fact, this short trip had yielded more than he expected.

Not only did he manage to finally be able to sense immortal energy, but the bloodline evolution into the Greater Lycan race had gone beyond his wildest imagination. He obtained three divine-rank skills from three Origin-rank bloodlines and also overpowered innate abilities that came along with the bloodline.

His stats tripled, and even his divinity points had swelled to three times that of Vadyn.

Now, all he needed to do was return and discuss the strategy with High Lord Rashal.

Considering how thorough and sharp High Lord Rashal was—he most certainly had already gathered intel about the warriors from High Lord Ursa’s side. Rex needed to read that intel so that he knew who he needed to aim first.

But there are still hours, so he didn’t need to rush.

System, how are my stats compared to Transcendent Demigods?

<Insufficient data—the user has not scanned any Transcendent Demigods.>

In that case, how are my stats compared to all Awakened Demigods that I already scanned?

<Comparing stats...>

<...>

<Notice: the user’s physical stats are comparable to the very peak of two-star Awakened Demigods.>

Rex crossed his arms and rubbed his chin, surprised by the System’s answer.

Right now, he felt like he was standing at the top of the world. Completely peerless. His body was filled with so much power that it unsettled him. And yet, he was still only comparable to a two-star Awakened Demigod—it’s a problem.

Not because he couldn’t contend with the enemy side, but because of the difference in numbers.

High Lord Rashal would be handling High Lord Ursa and perhaps two other warriors.

And at that point, it was going to be three against four.

Since he was now most certainly stronger than Vadyn, he would most likely be the one who would take on two. If both of the warriors against him are two-star Awakened Demigods, then he might stand a chance to stalemate them.

But even if one was a third-star Awakened Demigod, then he’ll be screwed.

I still have that skill, so I wouldn’t lose easily. But at most, I would only be able to stall.

Even then, Rex was worried that one of his enemies would also be Diamantona.

Another Scion who most certainly has tricks up his sleeve.

Not to mention, unlike him, Diamantona had already been tested. He had killed another scion, and that meant his strength was legitimate. And the Scion he’d slain had likely belonged to the Anger Stratum— which was the reason why the Uncrowned Matron of Ire wanted him dead.

I might need High Lord Rashal to take on Diamantona, too. Just until I kill one warrior.

Rex shook his head and focused on the notifications again.

System, I still have questions. What do direct and indirect power mean?

Under the Supreme Versatility Mutation, it was stated that the bonus power output and energy efficiency differ between direct and indirect powers. Rex didn’t really understand what that meant, so he decided to ask the System.

Knowing one’s strength is paramount before a battle, or else he’ll only be fighting to lose.

<Notice: Direct and indirect powers refer to the user’s mastery of the power.>

<As of this moment—the user’s direct power only involved moonlight energy, kingly energy, lightning arcane mana, lunar mana, and force. Any powers outside of the listed powers would be under the indirect power category.>

And what about the upgrades? How do I upgrade the two skills?

Both innate skills that he obtained from the Greater Lycan race were upgradeable.

Rex wanted to know how to upgrade them.

Perhaps he could upgrade them even before the Purgation Duel started.

But he was out of luck.

<Notice: In order to upgrade the Supreme Versatility Mutation passive skill and Lycanthrope skill, the user would need to sacrifice divinity points. Paying the needed divinity points would unlock the needed materials to upgrade the skills.>

How many divinity points?

<10 million divinity points are needed for the Supreme Versatility Mutation passive skill—and 1 billion divinity points for the Lycanthrope skill.>

Ten million? One billion? That’s an insane amount.

Even after massacring millions of people and devouring their divinity through the Divine Tainting skill, Rex was only able to amass—one-hundred and fifty thousand divinity points. He couldn’t imagine how many people he needed to kill to amass one billion divinity points.

However, he wasn’t that surprised, especially for the Lycanthrope skill.

Once he upgraded it to the transcendent rank—the primordium energy would impossibly be able to turn into immortal energy. Not only would his immortal energy swell, but its dominant nature would also be turned docile.

At that point, Rex would most likely be unstoppable.

Maybe devouring High Lord Ursa and his warriors would yield me a lot. We’ll have to see.

Rex blinked and then shifted to the side.

He was surprised to see that the blood-red phantom of a woman sitting on a throne was still there.

For some reason, the Uncrowned Matron of Ire was still watching him. She seemed to be having fun—watching him evolve into a higher being. "You’re still here." Rex turned to face her. "Do you enjoy the performance I showed that much? Or do you not have anything to do?"

"You might really be able to kill Diamantona."

"Of course, I can. Do you think I accepted the deal without having the confidence to do so?"

"I’ll be waiting for the good news, then."

"You do that."

Slowly, the blood-red phantom began to dissipate along with the suppressing air that lingered in the air like a heavy blanket, as the Uncrowned Matron of Ire’s presence left the Great Pale Court. "Climb the stairs. Climb the ranks. Defeat Ignatius. And then, come to meet me. I might have a position that you might be interested in."

Rex watched until her presence disappeared.

He paused for a couple of seconds longer, and only then did his shoulders ease.

"Even though I’ve gotten much stronger, her presence didn’t grow lighter at all. She’s really strong."

Rex finally tore his gaze away from the lingering presence of the Uncrowned Matron of Ire, the phantom of crimson fury still burning at the edge of his perception. Once he peeled his focus away—he realized that the air was still thick with the residue of his evolution.

Despite the Realm Degradation, the air reeked of primordium energy.

He turned, and the breath caught in his throat.

A mile away, Lilliana was on her knees.

Her body was wreathed in a faint, ghostly steam, her wounds knitting together with agonizing slowness, flesh and sinew pulling themselves back into place. But even as her regeneration worked, she coughed—wet and terrible—and blood spilled from her lips, staining the pale stone beneath her.

Her hands were planted against the ground, and fingers clawed at the moon’s surface.

And then, her shoulders shook as her breath turned into hitched gasps.

Rex recoiled.

The sight hit him like a blow to the chest, a physical force that drove the air from his lungs.

He had been so consumed by his own transformation, so drunk on the surge of newfound power—that he had forgotten. He had forgotten that Lilliana was still here and exposed. Normally, she would be able to endure the shockwaves.

But this was the Great Pale Court that was eroding due to the Realm Degradation.

Just summoning her energy was already hard, much less using it to shield herself from the blasts.

His recent ascension to Awakened Demigod had been devastating enough—a cataclysm that had created a lake of blood. This bloodline evolution, though fully different in nature, had been no less destructive. The shockwave alone had likely torn through her.

Rex already moved before his mind could recover.

His legs carried him across the shattered moon with a speed that should have been impossible,

Just as he neared, he noticed the energy barrier surrounding her—a shimmering dome of pale moonlight, Aylith’s power, still holding against the residual chaos. It had been the only thing standing between the burst of power and Lilliana.

Aylith’s barrier had kept her from being wounded even further.

But the initial burst of power, the first detonation, had still found her.

And the damage was enough to bring her to her knees.

Rex looked over his shoulder and locked eyes with Aylith, who stood at the edge of the blood circle; her hands still raised, her expression unreadable. Her eyes—blindfolded as they were—seemed to see him. She had protected Lilliana.

It was a gesture that confirmed that the two were now on the same side.

Despite what happened with Mayar, she was still on board.

Seeing her son being decimated might be a strong enough reason to change her mind, but she didn’t.

The barrier flickered once—then dissolved like mist in the wind. The moment it was gone, Rex was at Lilliana’s side, dropping to one knee beside her, his hand hovering over her back. She was still coughing, still trembling.

"Do you need help to heal?" Rex asked, his voice more tender than normal.

"Did you forget about me?" Lilliana smiled faintly and chuckled, though that made her cough out more blood. She wiped the blood on her lips with the back of her hand. "I’m fine. Just needed time to recover. Save your things for the Purgation Duel."

"Here." Rex took out a vial from his inventory and helped her drink it.

He didn’t care what she said.

As soon as the liquid entered her stomach, her entire body shimmered with a greenish hue, and all of the damage he endured was mended. "Rest for a bit." He said as he stood up again. "We’re going to return soon enough."

Once he dealt with Lilliana’s condition, he approached Aylith.

"What do you want to do with the remaining divinity?" Aylith asked, gesturing towards the blood circle.

"Straight to business?" Rex smirked. "Not curious to why my power skyrocketed?"

"Do you think I am a teen—who marvels at any great spectacle? I know asking questions is the surefire way to get into trouble."

"I saw your eyes behind that blindfold sparkled, though."

"You must’ve seen it wrong."

Rex turned towards the blood circle and crossed his arms. "Are you really blind, Aylith?"

"Who said I’m blind?" Aylith’s voice was light, almost weightless—yet it carried an edge of finality. "I wear a blindfold, yes, but that doesn’t mean I cannot see. And you would do well to heed my warning—asking questions here will only bring you trouble."

Rex’s chuckle was quiet, private. "Unlucky for you, trouble finds me even when I do nothing. The fate of a Scion, I suppose." His gaze settled back on the blood circle. "But fine. I won’t push further for now. How much divinity remains?"

"Still more than abundant. Far more."

"Hm..."

Rex wanted to tell Aylith to take it all, but managed to stop himself before he could say it.

System, can I absorb this divinity and increase my divinity points?

<No—the divinity contained within the blood circle is too concentrated and pure to be absorbed by any Demigod.>

"Just absorb the divinity for yourself. I don’t care."

"What...?"

Aylith turned to look at Rex with clear surprise on her face. She paused for a good moment—processing what he said and making sure that she didn’t hear it wrong. "You’re... You’re giving it to me? This much divinity, you’re going to let me have it?"

"Yeah." Rex waved his hand. "We’re on the same side, so if you recover your strength, I’m going to benefit, too. So take it."
