The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1382: Accepting His Offer

Chapter 1382: Accepting His Offer

Lady Ryuu clearly wasn’t expecting Klaus to make such an offer. If there is one thing she knows, then it is the kind of happiness anyone would feel if they had a chance to join the Warrior Tower.

They are a powerful organization whose influence has already reached far and beyond. If he joins them, he is guaranteed to earn more than he would as a freelancer.

Respect, reputation, access, and a whole lot.

Also, joining the Warrior Tower provides some protection that can sometimes go a long way. Naturally, Klaus would be swimming with sharks, but he would have protection against fishermen who would come after him or his family.

The warrior tower doesn’t take kindly to anyone coming after one of their own and their family.

So, rejecting all that only to opt to become a freelancer is a bit shocking.

"May I ask why this decision? I know you are angry at what happened a couple of weeks ago. Believe me, I am mad too. However, having a second chance, in my opinion, is better than none.

The Warrior Temple can give more than what I could. They can provide more access than what I could guarantee, so why the interest in becoming a freelancer?"

Lady Ryuu set her teacup down and got serious.

There are many reasons why she wanted Klaus to join the Warrior Tower. If he didn’t end up joining, it would be a bummer, but she would understand.

However, that isn’t always a good thing.

There are those who want Klaus to join the Warrior Tower and those who hate that idea. If he didn’t join, it would feel like a slap in the face to those who are on his side.

"To be honest with you, I don’t want to be the reason why there will be a division in such a powerful organization. I have big dreams that one day will reveal what kind of person I am at heart.

When that day comes, I want everyone to come together and be of one mind and heart. I want the entire Warrior Tower to be able to beat its chest and say that this decision was sound and could benefit everyone, not just a few.

However, when division exists from the start, that hatred will only grow and become irreversible. Believe me, when the day comes, it will be a disaster for all of us.

So I would like to make sure my decision today wouldn’t be the cause of that. This means I must make some people happy by sacrificing the benefits I will receive.

Of course, since some support me, I want to make sure they are happy by becoming freelancers under your command. I will take missions from you, and if they have any as well, you can send them to me.

I say that is a win-win in my opinion. Everybody will be happy in the end."

Lady Ryuu nodded slightly, understanding where Klaus was going with his decision. It may look like he was making a bunch of excuses in order not to join the Warrior Tower.

However, if the root of the problem is analyzed, there is a good chance that what he said would come to pass. Those who are in his favour will get to take all the credit for his achievements, while those who hate him will only grow even more bitter.

That will become a huge problem for him in the end.

However, if he does not join the Warrior Tower, there would be no reason for them to keep hating him, not when his future achievements will be under his name, not the Warrior Tower’s.

Klaus would gain all the benefits he wanted by joining them, but at the expense of his own safety. If he can’t trust his employers, then what reason is there to even join them?

He would make a name for himself as a freelancer.

"I guess you indeed made a logical decision. This shows you are a great thinker. Not many would have seen this far into the future."

Klaus smiled, liking the compliment.

Receiving the compliment of a supreme is the most unexpected thing he had expected this early in his journey.

"Of course, if I were to take up this offer, then know the benefits initially prepared to be offered to you will be void. You will be working only for me, so I will have to handle your benefits.

It will be far less than what the Mission Hall is giving you or what the Academy had in store for you. However, since you are joining us in an unusual way, I can pull some strings and give you a good offer."

"Whatever works for you. As for me, I just want to be able to grow as a warrior without stepping on anyone’s toes. The universe, as I was told, is very vast, and there are dangers everywhere, so I want to be on the good side of those I can’t afford to offend."

Lady Ryuu nodded. "That is a sound decision." She paused for a few seconds, then added, "I will accept your decision to become a freelancer. And for now, I can offer you this."

She produced a screen and handed it to Klaus.

It seems she had already anticipated Klaus asking to work only for her, and so she prepared a good offer for that decision.

Klaus reviewed the list, and while he will not be making billions or receiving SS-class spaceships, it is still good enough.

The best one yet is the offer of him having indefinite King-level access to the Foreign Battlefield. From what Icon had gathered for him, there are levels of the Foreign Battlefield.

The Master level is for Real Immortals and below. Grandmaster is for Immortal Kings and below. The Saint level is for Immortal Monarchs and below, while the King level is for Immortal Lords and below.

No one knows how they did it. But the battlefields where the Foreign Race can be found are all restricted by something beyond anyone’s understanding.

There are limits on them. Limits that prevented the warriors to have the freedom they need.

The warriors of this universe had managed to clear some of them. Whenever they manage to clear a battlefield, the restriction will be removed.

However, of the many battlefields, especially, the ones at the King level, they can be considered the most dangerous of them all.

This is because while the warriors of this universe are restricted to the Immortal Lord level, the Foreign Race has Pseudo-Demigods within their ranks.

Because of this, many had already given up hope of venturing there. However, while the danger level there is already staggering, there are many treasures there as well.

Because of this, the Heavenly Council made it extremely difficult to access such a place.

So having access indefinitely to such a place will undoubtedly be great when he ventures there one day.

"Great offer." Klaus smiled. "I have already received so much from the Mission Hall, so having something different is always welcomed. I will be sure to make good use of what you have given me and, if possible, make those who hated the idea of me joining the Warrior Temple regret their decision."

Lady Ryuu nodded, then she produced another tablet. "As a matter of fact, you can do that right now if you are up for a battle inside the Dark Space."

She handed Klaus the tablet, which only had a picture of a High Human male.

"His name is Rouni Jamel, an undefeated True Immortal and a disciple of the Supreme who gave the order to deny you from joining the Warrior Tower."

"Oh, really?" A grin appeared on Klaus’s face.
