Chapter 1387: Fanning The Flames
Chapter 1387: Fanning The Flames
"Greetings, beautiful people. It is I, Blue Ivy, bringing you an exclusive interview live from our Deep Space studios." The beautiful interviewer said with a smile, her face appearing on countless screens all over the universe.
Even the demons are watching her.
"As communicated a couple of hours ago, I will be interviewing a special somebody today. I am happy to announce that the moment has come, so do well to stick to your screens, for it will be a one-of-a-kind interview."
The camera slowly panned out from her, showing an empty chair opposite her.
To prevent people from leaking the identity of the person they would be interviewing, they made it mandatory for everyone, even the workers, to find out only when they walked onto the stage.
So when the camera panned out, everyone held their breath. "Without wasting much time, let’s welcome the Renegade Hunter to our studio."
A door opened, and Klaus walked onto the stage, a handsome smile on his face. All over the universe, those watching burst into waves of cheers.
After his battle with Blood Shadow, everyone wanted to hear from him. They wanted to learn how he was able to survive an assault by an Immortal Lord for that long.
However, Klaus had been difficult to reach. Today, they were all seeing him on their screens. If their day was going badly, this interview had just brought them a wave of joy.
"Welcome to Blue Ivy Studios, Renegade Hunter."
"Thank you, Lady Ivy. I am happy to be here."
"Before we start the interview, I would like to know one thing. Take it as a way of making a girl happy." Klaus again felt the compulsion to tell his deepest and darkest secrets to Lady Ivy.
However, he recovered the next second, considering he had faced people with more powerful compulsive abilities than hers.
"Ask away, Lady Ivy."
"How old are you, really?"
This question had been on everyone’s mind after the video of his battle with Blood Shadow came out. In their heads, there was just no way a 23-year-old should be that powerful.
So now that they had him live on air, the question had to be answered. Klaus smiled. "Unexpected but welcomed. I am 23, soon to turn 24 years old."
Lady Ivy sat there, stunned. Everyone watching from home and everywhere in the universe held the same expression.
"I know, it is a bit shocking when you put things into perspective. However, I am indeed 23 years old. If you don’t believe me, you can have me tested."
"That is indeed unexpected; however, I see no reason why you would lie about your age."
"I know. But that is indeed my age."
"Good to have that cleared out of the way. Now, why don’t we start with your decision to accept Warrior Rouni’s challenge? Does this have something to do with the rumours going around that you want to join the Warrior Tower but were rejected?"
"Rejected, you say?" Klaus laughed and said, "I wasn’t rejected, my lady. I was kicked out, sent packing even."
"Oh, so the rumours were true."
"Big time. However, the true story isn’t exactly how they are telling it."
"Now I am intrigued, and so is my audience, so why don’t you tell us what actually happened?"
Klaus came for this interview mainly to clear the air about what happened between him and the warrior tower.
It seems Supreme Elder Juo and his people had been spreading rumours that he had been rejected from joining the Warrior Tower.
Initially, he had no plans to reveal anything. However, after learning that Rouni had challenged him because of the rivalry between Supreme Elder Juo and Lady Ryuu, Klaus decided to take matters into his own hands.
"I was indeed rejected from joining the Warrior Tower, but I didn’t go there on my own accord. In fact, I went there because they invited me to join them in a Unique Role. I was meant to become a Unique Warrior, like how I am a Unique Hunter.
Oh, and while I am here, I guess I might use this chance to say I have joined the Milky Way Warrior Academy too, since they saw value in me and decided to nurture it."
Lady Ivy furrowed her brow. "So if I were to get what you meant, it was that the Warrior Tower, Mission Hall, and the Academy all offered you to become a member in their organization."
"I like smart people." Klaus smiled, and Lady Ivy blushed. "That was what happened. However, when I went to register, they sent me packing. I have a video to prove everything."
"Oh, this is getting interesting." Lady Ivy was practically jumping in her chair. Watching her behavior, Klaus couldn’t help recalling the day he met KKKickinIt, who later turned out to be the Princess of the Bast Race.
Princess Eshira always gets excited when there is gossip, so seeing Lady Ivy become that happy, he could only smile.
"Before the big reveal, mind telling us why you decided to join the Warrior Tower in the first place? After all, you were already a respected member of the Mission Hall, so why go a step further?"
"Can’t say I was innocent on that front. In a way, I dug my own grave. However, in my defense, I was told that rejecting offers from powerful organizations like the Warrior Tower is bad for a rising warrior like me.
So I guess I was scared of what they would do if I rejected them. I just wanted to make everyone happy, but I ended up shooting myself in the foot."
"Then what changed? Why the sudden compulsion to reveal everything?"
Klaus smiled. "Let’s just say I met someone who made me aware that one doesn’t need a powerful organization behind him to make a difference. I wanted to become a Hunter to save people and a Warrior to protect the universe from the demons and foreign races.
However, since the Warrior Tower doesn’t want me, I can’t force them. I will find my own way to prove to them I am not all name and no action."
"So does that mean you would never join the Warrior Tower ever again?"
"I suppose you can say that. I have already seen what I needed to see and know what is best for me. So I will remain a Hunter, and if the heavens will it, I will one day rise to the level where, when warriors are being summoned, they can’t look past me."
Klaus said, but inwardly, he was grinning. After all, if he can’t become a warrior with this face, who is stopping him from joining them with a different face?
He still has seven faces to spare, so regardless of what the Warrior Tower thinks, he will become one of them, and as he had always planned, he will make a name for himself within their ranks.
The mission had always been to show the universe that the Paragon is not their enemy. His deeds will speak for him.
"That is a great decision if you ask me. However, I can’t help but wonder, did you accept Warrior Rouni’s challenge because you were rejected from the Warrior Tower and want to prove yourself?"
Everyone held their breath because the answer Klaus was about to give was what they all had been waiting for.
Klaus laughed, a bit amused at the answer he had given himself. He looked straight into the camera and, with a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, answered.
"Nope. I just hate the way he smiles."
