Chapter 1388: Making Some People Angry

"Huh, what do you mean by that?" Lady Ivy asked, her brow furrowed.

All over the universe, everyone watching the live interview was left in a state of shock. Those who supported Rouni and the majority of the warriors in the Warrior Tower were all seething in anger.

It is a known fact in the entire universe that whenever a warrior is rejected from joining the Warrior Tower, they go above and beyond to prove themselves. Millions had died trying to prove themselves.

So for Klaus, who had a chance to fight someone respected in all of the Warrior Tower, the last thing they expected was him saying he accepted the challenge because he hated the way Rouni smiled.

It was both humiliating and disrespectful, not only to Rouni but also to the entire Warrior Tower.

Many people were angry, but Klaus had only just begun.

"I don’t know what you want me to say, Lady Ivy. I genuinely hate the way he smiles. It is so fake."

"How fake?"

"Like putting on a show. He wanted to appear genuine, like someone who isn’t affected by all the fame and success he was getting, when, in fact, he was so happy and full of pride.

Lady Ivy, already looking to make waves, pulled the video of her interview with Rouni. It started playing for all to see. Along the way, Klaus paused it.

He only let a smile appear on his face and, in a so fake, nonchalant tone, responded. This was what triggered Klaus.

"A genuine person would give a broad smile, letting it reach their eyes. I mean, he is but a True Immortal who had made it into a ranking that had been charted by only Immortal Kings for millions of years.

Just the mere fact that he had made an appearance there, even if for a minute, he should have been proud of his achievement. I know I would, for it is not simple to achieve something that monumental.

I respect him as a warrior for achieving something that big, but the fact that he tried to play it like it was nothing, in my eyes, is an insult to those who had been working hard to rank on that Chart.

It was like saying, ’Sure, I made it to the top ten, but there is nothing special about it.’ That, if I were to be on that Chart, would have pissed me off. So maybe after I defeat him, he will learn to show genuine emotion.

Of course, he can come to me to help him." Klaus laughed, then added, "I majored in Psychology for a semester, so I qualify to give him the roadmap on how to show genuine emotion."

And just like that, Klaus changed the narrative. Many who knew something about emotional intelligence started to notice the fake emotions Rouni gave, and that just left them all wondering how much Klaus had poured into knowing his opponent before their duel.

Some warriors even shuddered, seeing how much detail Klaus had picked up from a mere video. If he could read his opponent like that, then how much could he do when he met his opponent in person?

There were going to be many conversations about what he had just done for weeks. In their opinion, it takes someone years to come close to achieving what Klaus had done from a mere video.

"You are an interesting and scary person, Renegade Hunter."

"I just pay attention to detail. Trust me, with enough insight into your opponent, there is just nothing you can’t do. Like they say, knowing your opponent is half the battle won."

"So you like to get under the skin of your opponent before battles, huh?"

Klaus grinned. "If it means winning, then why not? Battle is more than swinging weapons. It has to do with how much you can read and anticipate your opponent.

I have honed my mind to always be a step ahead, so just like how I used my smartness to poison Blood Shadow, in two days, I will wipe the floor with our dear Rouni and show him what being a true warrior means.

He claims we Hunters only know how to use tricks to win battles. That may be true, but if my mission is to kill an Immortal King and, at the end of the day, I manage to kill them using my tricks, isn’t that a win?"

Lady Ivy seemed to understand what Klaus was trying to do, so she allowed him to continue.

"You know, I have not yet met a demon, but I know that when it comes to using dirty tricks, they are experts.

I don’t hate them for knowing dirty tricks because, at the end of the day, it is win or lose. If they use tricks to kill me today, they win, but if I can outsmart them, that would be my win.

No demon or foreign race warrior would propose that they drop their weapons and other items before a battle. They would always have something up their sleeve.

So if you ask me what a warrior should be like, it should be someone with the ability to use all kinds of means to win. If a demon uses innocents to restrict you, don’t run; find a way to save the innocent and complete your mission.

In fact, we hunters mostly go against people who have no problem using innocents as their shield. However, we always find ways to rescue the innocent and take care of the threat.

So if anything, being a warrior should be having the ability to adapt in battle using any trick. He can come for a lesson once I defeat him and prove to him that Hunters are just as good as Warriors."

Many people were angry, but many were happy. Especially the Hunters; they all became happy. Klaus had no fear; he was talking against the Warrior Tower, so they would support him from the background.

In fact, Klaus himself didn’t want to do this, but he wanted the Warrior Tower to know he is not someone they can stomp on.

That is enough reason to make anyone scared.

"You know, the main reason why I would never reveal where I am from and what family I am from is for moments like this. If I have a beef with my peer and his family decides to interfere, I would have no guilt unleashing my family on them.

I mean, my uncles would have no problem doing my dirty work for me."

Klaus grinned, and trillions shuddered.
