Chapter 1758: True Definition Of An Ambush
Chapter 1758: True Definition Of An Ambush
The moment Kilian killed the Omen of Silence, only two battles remained, and both were being fought by Klaus in his incarnations as Rhazor and the legendary Asura.
Both battles were intense and, just as expected, close to their climax, since even though both parties were at each other’s throats, Klaus held the upper hand, especially with his incarnation as Asura, the Blood King.
One thing to note: despite both incarnations having their own Dao, they weren’t using it yet. Aside from that, Rhazor, who had decided to embrace the battle at full intensity, hadn’t even used his four Primordial Flame Spirits or the Primordial Lotus of Destruction.
Qilin, Nirvana, Void and Fury were summoned, but if one looked closely, they could tell they weren’t exactly the true versions of the Primordial Flame Spirits.
They were like clones, which showed the true versions were the ones following Kaden in the Elemental Garden. But these clones weren’t weak at all. Their flames burned with great intensity, and when Kaden unleashed the Dao, they would surely prove their might.
As for Asura, he was riding the sea of blood, making every injury inflicted bleed more than usual. This was slowing down his opponent, and soon, he would reach the stage where killing him would be as easy as using the third form of his legendary Blood Monarch Supreme Slash.
Maybe he won’t… after all, Asura wants to make a statement.
So far, he had only used the first two forms of the technique, but they were enough to hold back his opponent for the last 30 minutes.
Soon, he would unleash the third form, and who was to say what would happen, especially if he were to add the Slaughter Dao to the attack? One thing was certain: Klaus was now very powerful, and his two incarnations were proving that right now.
But while that was happening, misfortune slowly started to approach the demons from the third demon outpost, who had secretly aligned with the Foreign Race and had been helping them gain a foothold in the Ancient Battlefield.
Over the years, the 10th Demon Brigade had, over and over again, helped the Foreign Race, just like how the Celestial Supreme, Elorm, had also helped them gain some form of advantage over the Righteous Faction.
There were 15 different strongholds in the Ancient Battlefield. Each stronghold contained 7 outposts, guarded by able warriors with great reputations.
14 of these strongholds belonged to the 14 seats of the Heavens Court, and the last one belonged to the demons.
While the demons hated the Righteous Faction, they knew if the Foreign Race were to invade the universe, their own people would be in danger, so they had their own outpost, albeit a very small one.
However, while many demons fought the Foreign Race almost every single day, some had arrived at an agreement with them, and so they have, over and over again, aided them.
The Righteous Faction has discovered some of these groups. The 10th Demon Brigade is one of those groups.
When the battle began between Klaus’s team and the Nine Deadly Omens, Icon picked up on the arrival of the 10th Demon Brigade, and so Klaus publicly gave orders to Nyrela and the rest of the ladies to go loot the shattered valley, while inwardly, he instructed them to make sure none of the 250 members of the 10th Demon Brigade would be walking away alive.
So, while the battle was ongoing, the ladies had also been making their way slowly toward the location where the 10th Demon Brigade had decided to watch the battle.
They were supposed to kill Klaus and his teammates, but they panicked and decided to save their lives instead. But because of their life choices, they were now about to be hunted.
“Leader, the battle will soon end, and the Paragon will be free to do as he pleases. I think before that happens, we should leave,” a demon with two dark horns and an ugly appearance said, his beard emitting light sparks.
Clearly, his affinity for lightning was great, and considering he was a Supreme, one could feel the pressure.
But the man he was referring to as the leader stood with a calm expression.
He was a demon man who appeared to be in his late 50s, with a long beard, twisted facial features, and a deep blue complexion.
He also had lightning dancing across his skin. He went by Yadak, the leader of the 10th Demon Brigade, and he was also a Pseudo-Primordial.
“Relax, Vexul, I am sure we are not the only ones paying attention to this battle. Who knows, maybe after this, there will be another ambush, and we might just have our chance to complete our mission.
In case you are not aware, by refusing to carry out this mission, we have, in a way, offended Lord Axarax. While staying in the outpost will keep us safe, who knows what would happen if we later ran into him?”
Vexul nodded and said nothing afterward. However, he wore an expression that said he was unhappy about this. He was having a bad feeling about everything.
Yadak patted Vexul on the shoulder. “I know you are sensitive, Vexul, one of the reasons why I promoted you, and now you stand side by side with me. However, you have to understand that even if he tracks us here, by the time he reaches here, we will be long gone.
30 light-years is not a distance that can be covered without our sensors picking up on them. So relax and watch the show. And as I said, we might just get lucky and kill the Paragon today.”
Vexul nodded and was about to apologize when a voice spoke from the void, causing everyone inside the spaceship to tense.
“You should have listened to Vexul. Now it is too late,” Nyrela’s chilling tone came from the void. Then a bang came from behind the spaceship, causing the entire ship to shake.
Behind the ship, Danny appeared in his Titan form, his giant axe now embedded in the engine of the ship, crippling it for good.
Then, from all around the ship, void gates started opening, spawning one undead warrior after another. In no time, close to a hundred undead warriors appeared and surrounded the ship.
Miguel and the others appeared.
Finally, a blood-red void gate opened, and Nyrela, alongside the rest of the ladies on the team, walked out.
