Chapter 1765: Tasha's Resolve
Chapter 1765: Tasha’s Resolve
“I want them dead, every last one of them,” Tasha said, her eyes oozing intense killing intent that made even Klaus flinch. He wasn’t afraid, just concerned about Tasha.
The kind of killing intent she had released wasn’t from her past life. It was all accumulated in this life through battles and near-death encounters.
This made Klaus wonder what kind of life she had lived, for he knew her past life; half of it was terrible. She was ridiculed, badmouthed and lied about for years until she was later banished.
It was after he found her that she started to experience a normal life.
So, even through all that, she hadn’t accumulated much killing intent. Then, what kind of life had she lived in this one that had made her accumulate such intense killing intent?
If someone were around or inside the house, they would have passed out by now.
Luckily, Klaus had put a containment spell around Love before coming to the roof. He knew Tasha would come and things would happen, so he was just being cautious.
As expected, her reaction after recovering her memories was exactly as he had expected. He didn’t have the specifics, but he knew the people who captured and tried to execute her mother were her siblings and her mom’s side of the family.
“Relax first, Tasha. Some are dead, and the rest will die, but we cannot do that with you not having a clear mind,” Klaus said, patting Tasha on the shoulder.
She still had tears rolling down her face, but the expression on her face now reeked of murder.
“You wouldn’t want to wake Love up or accidentally hurt her, would you?”
That did the magic.
Tasha pulled back her killing intent and looked at Klaus. “I don’t care what happened these last years. I don’t care if they are leaders of nations or righteous apostles, I will kill them all, so don’t try to stop me.”
Klaus chuckled and said, “What makes you think I will stop you? Whatever you do to them is your business.”
“Good.” She took a deep breath and asked, “My mother, is she…”
“Lady Merrychild is fine. I took her to the Zorvian Ancient family before I entered the cycle of reincarnation.”
“Thank you, Efad.” She exhaled and covered her face with her hand, more tears falling.
After a few minutes, she lifted her head and looked at Klaus. “Aren’t you going to ask what happened? Aren’t you angry that I led your legion to their death?”
Klaus smirked and stood up, walking to the edge of the roof… “It is true that some died, but you also saved the majority of them, compared to me, who led 400 of them to their deaths.” He sighed, his mind going back to the ambush of the Dark Elves.
Back then, he tried everything in his power, but he couldn’t save them. In the end, the last 50 remaining ignited their bloodlines to buy him the time to retreat and escape.
It was one of his lowest moments, and for years, he didn’t recover.
It was as if the heavens meant to shatter his resolve, so on the same day, he lost close to a thousand beast companions, beasts he had promised to protect and build a safe zone for. They came to him looking for a home, and he led them to their deaths.
“At least you saved the majority of them, so no, I am not angry. If anything, you should forgive me for failing to protect you. When I found you, I made you a promise that no matter what, I would not let harm come to you. But in only a few years, you died, and I couldn’t do anything to save you.”
Klaus turned and looked at her. “I am sorry, Tasha.”
“Don’t be silly, Efad. You had your own battle to fight, so don’t apologise. We can blame it on the heavens for conspiring against us.”
Klaus smiled and nodded.
He knew apologising would not change the past. It was what they did now that would shape the future. The heavens were indeed unforgiving, but he was the Paragon, so he could stand against them.
“It was my three siblings and my mother’s family that set the trap back then. It turned out that after I was banished, my mother divorced my father, or at least she tried to.
She never had the strength to go against a whole Elven Empire, so she did the next best thing: she ran, hoping to leave and never return. But her own children, my siblings, found out and led my grandfather and her siblings, who had always envied my mother, to ambush and arrest her.
I honestly don’t know what they told my father, but he didn’t go after her, and to this day, I don’t know how they knew I was alive and would come after her.” Tasha sighed.
“Speaking from a warrior’s perspective, that trap was flawless. I was boxed in, and had it not been for Runner following me, I would have died along with my mother.” A smile appeared on her face. “Well, I did die, but at least Mother is safe.”
“Yes, she is. After I returned, I made sure she was cared for, and after some back-and-forth, she even began cultivating martial techniques. If she hasn’t stopped, then I am sure when you meet her again, she will be a warrior unlike any you have ever met.”
Tasha nodded, a smile appearing on her face.
Klaus approached her, wiped the tears from her eyes, and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“But before that happens, though, we have to first awaken your bloodlines and your hidden nature as a Paragon Star Light. Once that is handled, we can plan what to do next.”
Tasha didn’t have any objections. She was strong now, but she wasn’t invincible.
Now that she had her memories, she knew that if her bloodline awakened, then with her current cultivation base, she would have the power to avenge herself and her friends who died saving her.
“I am ready when you are.”
