"Kakakakaka, have you laid your eyes on that young man? The pill Romethra consumed grants him power comparable to that of a peak-stage Elemental Gathering Realm. Even a person at Elemental Master Realm would need to put tremendous effort in order to defeat him. Would you fancy having such power as well? Or perhaps learning the method of its creation?
I can provide you with the formula and the pill, completely free of charge, if you so desire. In fact, I possess an abundance of superior pills and extensive knowledge in alchemy. Come, embrace my proposition, and your cultivation journey will be paved with ease and success," the old man cackled, his voice dripping with a mixture of amusement and persuasion.
His sinister smile widened, revealing yellowed teeth, as he leaned forward, his body language exuding a sense of dark allure. His hand gestured towards his cloak, hinting at the mysterious contents hidden within.
"Imagine the power at your fingertips, young one. The strength to overcome any obstacle, to rise above your peers, and to command respect and fear. With my guidance and the elixirs I offer, you can become a force to be reckoned with. The path of cultivation will unfold before you with unparalleled ease," the old man continued, his voice laced with a persuasive tone.
Danny's expression hardened, his eyes narrowing as he assessed the old man's offer. He remained cautious, his instincts warning him of the dangers that lurked beneath the surface. His lips curled into a slight sneer as he prepared his response.
"No, thanks. I have no interest in disfiguring my visage to resemble that repulsive creature. You can keep your knowledge to yourself. Don't concern yourself with my cultivation path; instead, ponder the consequences of being a Devil cultivator once the Great Sects catch wind of your presence on this continent," Danny retorted, his tone dripping with defiance and his expression resolute.
Upon hearing Danny's words, the old man's face twisted into a mix of anger and frustration. His eyes narrowed, and his lips curled into a malevolent grin. The fleeting hope of recruiting the young man with talent comparable to those cultivators in the great sects was swiftly vanishing, replaced by a burning desire to annihilate him.
The old man's gaze grew colder and more intense by the minute as he locked eyes with the defiant young man, his sinister aura surging with a renewed sense of malice.
"Now there is no one in your troops that can face Romethra after his transformation, not even if they all fight him together. They don't stand a chance," the old man sneered, his voice dripping with arrogance. He leaned closer, his eyes gleaming with malice.
"Do you truly believe you can get past me and aid those feeble souls? How naive you are to think that you can challenge my power and emerge victorious," he continued, his words laced with a mix of condescension and superiority.
"If you were truly as strong and powerful as you claim, we would not be standing here, engaged in this conversation," Danny retorted. His eyes bore into the old man's, unyielding and unwavering.
The old man's face twisted into a malicious grin, a dark amusement dancing in his eyes.
"Oh, my dear boy, you underestimate the pleasure I derive from watching your hope crumble before me," he replied, his tone dripping with arrogance. "To witness the despair on your face as I slowly dismantle everything you hold dear, that is a delight beyond compare."
Danny's jaw tightened, his fists clenched at his sides. He refused to let the old man's taunts shake his resolve.
"By the way, I forgot to ask, what is your name?" the old man sneered, a wicked gleam in his eyes.
Danny met his gaze with a cool, calculated demeanor, refusing to be swayed by the old man's taunts.
"Names are meaningless in the face of battle," Danny retorted again, "But you can call me the one who will make you regret underestimating me."
A flicker of annoyance crossed the old man's face, quickly replaced by a mocking smile.
"Oh, how amusing. The arrogant fool who thinks he stands a chance," he scoffed, his tone dripping with condescension. "Very well, nameless one, let's see if your arrogance matches your skill."
Danny's eyes narrowed.
"I don't need a name to prove myself," he shot back, his voice firm. "Actions speak louder than words, and I intend to let my actions do the talking."
The old man chuckled, a sound filled with malice and superiority.
"We shall see, nameless one," he hissed. "But remember, in this realm of darkness, your light will flicker and fade."
Danny's lips curled into a confident smirk, his gaze unwavering.
"Be careful of his attacks, Alex. His Qi is full of corruption, darkness, and is extremely lethal," the heavenly spirit warned from within him.
"I will," Alex affirmed.
"My Lord," the leading commander puppet spoke, relaying the urgent information through their telepathic connection. "The Barbarian chief has completed his transformation, and the elders are urging the warriors to flee. What are your orders?"
Danny's eyes narrowed as he surveyed the battlefield, taking in the chaotic scene before him. He knew that allowing the barbarians to escape into the forest could potentially pose a future threat. However, his mind swiftly calculated the risks and rewards of this decision.
After a moment of contemplation, Danny made a bold choice. "Let them flee," he commanded with a resolute tone. "I will direct our demon beasts to engage Romethra instead."
"Alex, look out!" the heavenly spirit's voice resounded urgently within Alex's mind, just as the old man launched a sudden and swift attack. In a split second, a dark scythe hurtled toward Alex, aimed with deadly precision.
Reacting with reflexes honed by countless battles, Alex instinctively sidestepped, narrowly evading the lethal strike. The air whistled as the scythe grazed past, leaving a lingering trail of dark energy in its wake.
Alex's heart pounded within his chest as he swiftly assessed the situation. The old man's attack had been swift and vicious, carrying the weight of both experience and malice. Fortunately, his spiritual power was able to sense the attack and the warning from the heavenly spirit also helped. Anyone else, other than him, might have been hit.
Realizing the urgency of the situation, Alex swiftly issued a command to his newly tamed Demon Beasts. With a nod of understanding, the creatures unleashed a series of ferocious roars, signaling their compliance. They moved swiftly, ignoring the retreating barbarians who thought they have to clear a path through the horde of demon beast and went straight to encircle Romethra.
The human army, quickly adjusted their tactics upon hearing Alex's orders. They formed a disciplined formation, spreading out and engaging Romethra from a distance. Their objective was clear: to kite Romethra, wearing him down gradually while avoiding direct confrontation with his formidable demonic form.
Romethra, now fully consumed by his demonic form, let out a guttural roar that echoed through the air. His dark eyes glowed with malevolence as he turned his attention towards the human army. He would stop at nothing to fulfill his newfound lust for power, even if it meant decimating everything in his path.
